Reversing on Water
« on: February 02, 2013, 05:20:24 AM »
Instead of tacking this onto a post on the screenshot forum, it might be better to have it's own thread. This topic was generated by a discussion about realistically reversing on water:
http://forum.mistymoorings.com/index.php?topic=1503.0

On the subject of realistically (or not) reversing on water, perhaps it might be useful for everyone if we all confirmed that [Shift]P works for amphibious aircraft, while only [Slew] works for non-amphibious float planes. Also it would be good to know if other aircraft have alternative reversing abilities.

So far we have:

[Shift]P
Carenado C185 Amphibian
Quest Kodiak Amphibian and Floatplane
Aerosoft Beaver Amphibian

[Slew]
Aerosoft Beaver Floatplane
Antz Drifter

Special Effects
A2A floatplane Cub with Accusim - Paddle
Captain Sim C130 Floatplane - Engine reverse

On the Quest Kodiak (by Lionheart Creations), tapping F2 while the throttle is at zero, will actually apply reverse thrust from the prop.  Then bump the throttle up from zero (momentarily), to remove reverse thrust.  You can also tap F3 to reduce reverse thrust but that doesn't work as well as bumping the throttle up from zero.
