Do you want to customize FSX?
« on: February 09, 2011, 06:46:01 PM »
Adventurous, curious, want everything in one place?  If you have not heard of this utility program you may want to try it.  The FSX version is like a Swiss Army Knife for the sim.  You can modify the FSX.cfg with 22 different categories.  Aircraft.cfg has 24 categories.  14 categories for the Panel.cfg.  Flight files with 5 categories.  6 for AI traffic.  There are 13 in the Others section. Last but not least it even has a section to let you create your own functions.  Oh yeah it also has a CFG Editor and an XML-Editor included.  What is it you ask?
Flusifix-2006 v5.0 is the program and all the tweaks and twits and fixes you see scattered around the web are able to be done in one program.  The good part is it is FREE.  Where is it you say?  Just use the link below and when the page comes up it will be in German, if you don't Spechen ze .... just look on the right side of the page and click on the Union Jack for English.  There is also a version for FS9 but last time I looked it was in German only, although I had a translation for it.
Enough yammering you say, where can I get it?

Yes, nice program. We (Bush Pilots) gave it an award back in 2007 already  :)

I'm afraid of 90% of it! :-)   Don't know what all that stuff does. But one thing I did try was the wing leveler program.  I have the WL utility and have used it.  But on the new FSX Real Air Scout, they put in a ROL feature that, with that autopilot, not only locks you from turning if you have the altitude set, it CANNOT be turned off in any way. (Rob, their tech there told me this).  But guess what? The WL in this little program nailed it. I can now set my altitude at 1200 feet and make turns.  Wonder what else it does? (Going to set a resume point first!) :-)  Now I have my Scout Amphib back!

This is an outstanding bit of freeware! FSX is already running better under it. Thanks for posting it Spud.

Blimey, I dunno! Most of 'em!! :)

I increased the speed of the AI taxiing, I checked for missing textures models etc and fixed a few problems.
Increased the Contrail persistence (but it's cloudy so I didn't see anything yet)
added smoke to the AI.
reduced the autogen buildings per cell, (I had already done it for the trees)
put in the lowest highest and average FPS counter

these are just the things I remember, after all they are all returnable to default and there is a pretty good explanation with each one as to what it does. It's the best FSX tweaking utility I have ever seen I am surprised it has been around for so long without seeing any reference to it on other forums.
