Nice screenshot, Bernie.
But now two questions:
- Assuming you didn't cheat , how did you manage to stop at precisely the correct "parking" position?
- Bearing in mind how close you are to the shore, how do you intend to fly out without a pushback cart - without cheating, of course?
Hi Dave
You are quite right, a little cheating is required. I use two methods. My most popular one is to use the pushback shortcut, shift+p. Not all aircraft can use this feature. The Beaver Amphibian works fine, the Beaver floatplane does not so then you have to go to Plan B. This uses the slew command (Q) and then the arrow keys to move in the required direction. This, I think is the most realistic as you can simulate using the paddle. First you rotate the aircraft 180 degrees using your mooring ropes (in the real world) and then give a big push, hop in the aircraft and try and start the engine before the wind blows you off course. It is a lot easier in FS as you can actually start the engine without doing any damage to humans, your prop and the docks etc.
Cheers
Bernie
P.S. I got a job. Had to fly a rich tourist to Streatham. I am taking him on the scenic route.
