I installed Gilbert Bay without making changes, and everything is ok ;)
Thanks Xavier and Brad.

Hello Brian,

I'm happy to read that you have solved this problem,
FX_GilbertBay_Sound.BGL is a scenery file, containing a sound effect, compiled and placed with Whisplacer.
Have you experienced such problems with some scenery, PF51 Stratham contains such a file, as many of my sceneries (PF51 or PF53).
Can you hear the sounds at PF51 ?

Happy new year !

Xavier

Hello Xavier, hello Brian,

may be I can add another experience which may help to solve this problem.
When I fly the Barnstormer-Scenery between Tetachuk Lake and Detna Creek, and I come closer to the hill where the Fire Tower is up, the sim freeze and the image gets grayed out for a few seconds. What happens with the sound at that moment I can´t remember anymore; I never mind about that minor issue, I just didn´t fly in that particular area anymore for that reason. When I do things like clicking with my mouse into the image or try to change the view, there is a chance to overcome that and the sim is fluid again (sorry for my english!). I tried this a couple of times, always the same and ONLY in that area, no one else in the vast areas of RTMM or ORBX land! that are the only areas I fly in.
Hope, this may help a little bit to solve the problem! Cause I took a look insight the scenery folder and there are too a couple of FX_xxx_sound.bgl files
And by the way, thanks for your phantastic sceneries Xavier.

AND a happy new year to all here at RTMM (phantastic site and fabulous work!)
Cheers Rainer

Lipra,

You're probably missing the required libraries by Xavier that goes with this scenery. Check that all library objects are installed by going here: http://return.mistymoorings.com/object_libraries/index.php

Then look for the Scenery Library object tester on that page.

Below that is the actual library of objects. "Links to the Object Libraries You Will Need" and right there at the top are Xavier's objects named: CeyX Object Library

Make sure all of the libraries are installed then verify that all objects are showing by using the object tester. You should not have any missing buildings after this is all confirmed. If you need more help, just ask.

Hi guys,

Thanks for your comments,

Lipra, don't forget, also, to add Westwood Inn object library from Urs ( Objects libraries).

Rainer, there is not any sounds around the fire tower, this problem is a strange one.

Cheers,

Xavier

Hello Xavier,

I know. But there is a sound file FX_DetnaCreek_Sound.bgl. Just a thought because Brian mentioned the  FX_Gilbertbay_Sound.bgl. (I found out the file that was causing me problems--it was FX_Gilbertbay_Sound.bgl. Once I removed that, the scenery works just great.).

Sorry for any inconvenience.
Cheers Rainer

Hi Xavier,

Yes, I hear a number of sounds at PF51 (wood being sawed, cows, birds, etc).

Not sure why it creates such havoc at Gilbert Bay.

Incidently, I'm working on an RNAV approach for Gilbert Bay that if I get the chance--I will post here.  ;)

@Aeugli--I love that pic in your avatar of the C206! :D

Oh, its no worries at all--the scenery is great and works fine for me. And my hat is off to Xavier for the way he blended the runway with the surrounding terrain. I sure wish I could do that sort of thing. :)

Thanks, guys, for your kind words.  :)

Brian, It is not so difficult as it seems.
I have read, somewhere, a post written by Bill Womack (before he entered at OrbX), he was talking about time and training.
I think that the best painter for ground texture is Russ White ( OrbX Ketchikan, Stewart, Bella Coola).
There would be a lot to learn from this guy.

And, I'm still learning ( tries, tries...)

Cheers,

Xavier

I have loaded the Gilbert Bay scenery and can view it without issue in FSX. However, when I rebuilt my Plan-G (v2.05) FSX database and can not get Gilbert Bay seaplane base nor airstrip to show up in Plan-G.
Any thoughts?

I don't think that our resident Plan-G database update artist, Dieter, has added that one destination yet. I would go ahead and add your own waypoint for it then when Dieter has a chance to add it, you can get his update and delete your temporary waypoint.

Brad.

I believe the airstrip and seaplane base symbols on Plan-G come from the airport .bgl files when you rebuild the FSX database from within Plan-G, not from a .csv import. The .csv waypoints are typically the green dots (i.e. cabins) and gold stars (POIs).  My brother installed the same Gilbert Bay scenery and rebuilt his FSX database in Plan-G and he can see the two symbols in question with no issue (see Plan-G image below) although when I do the same, I don't get them...... very strange.
