SAK Tour #2: Juneau, Skagway, Haines
« on: December 03, 2012, 10:33:58 AM »
Because of its ideal location between the base of Mount Juneau and the Gastineau Channel, the Southeastern Alaskan city of Juneau has been the home of Native American fisherman, European fur traders, and American gold prospectors. Now a free-spirited state capital, Juneau is the perfect base for a journey into the gorgeous Alaskan wilderness, whether it's for fishing, kayaking, and dog sledding in the National Parks, whale-watching at Icy Strait, or glacier hiking at the Juneau Icefield.

Brad,

First of all, thank you for posting your findings in the 'SAK Tours'. These previews are excellent and really get the juices flowing. This particular area (Juneau, Haines and Skagway) is one of my favorites to explore. Skagway is a real gem.

Hoping SAK comes out sooner, rather than later!

Thanks,

Ted

Me too!! And glad you like the preview work I'm doing. I love doing this stuff as I then have an idea on what I'm actually seeing down there when I fly over something. Other than, "That's a tall mountain up ahead" I might actually be able to name it now.

I love geography. Always aced that course and I love learning things like this. So that's mainly why I'm doing this so we all can get our "Juices" flowing!! SAK will be huge and having an idea on where you want to explore will benefit all of us I believe.

Brad
