Good to read your problems are fixed.

Btw, check if your UTX software is latest version:

(Buying a Flight1 software doesn't automatically mean you have latest version)

Dieter

Many greetings

Thanks again, Dieter.  I was in serious need of upgrade.  My USA version was back at 1.1.  I had to go to the patch archives to dig up the old patches, just to bring it up to 1.2, then 1.4, to make it compatible for the new patch.  (v1.5)  :o

Mine was still at 1.0!   Patches, I don't need no stinkin patches!  lol     Not sure if it will make any difference seeing as how FTX covers/overrides any UT products and I don't remember flying in default FSX scenery for over a year now, except Caribbean and the great PNG scenery areas.

Here's a picture of the area around Red Deer, Alberta with UTX Canada installed.  It use to be a barren wasteland of bleak geometric forms, and featureless expanse in an off-white monotone.  Now there are roads and houses, and vegetation, and power lines, and . . . it is a great improvement over the default.  Of all the UT packages, I think Canada is the most worthwhile.  It breathes life into the scenery.  Prior to UTX Canada, the sky was the most interesting feature.  ???

note:  That's NOT Red Deer airport in the picture below.

If you fly to or from Anchorage, or even Juneau, you fly across PFJ, TFX, and default AK.  With UTX AK, the transition from FTX is barely noticeable.  And the city of Juneau, as well as many others I suspect, are recreated beautifully.  I've only seen Juneau so far, actually.  But it's better than default, that's for sure.  And check out the glacier near Juneau.  It is a landmark feature, instead of just a patch of white going down to the water.

Nice shots Jeff.  I'm impressed with the look of UT Canada.  I have UT USA and UT Alaska, but not Canada.....hmmmm.

Hi guys,

FYI, Jeff's screenshot of the Red Deer area shows Orbx Northern Rockies in action, not UTX Canada  :o

I certainly agree though that UTX Canada is a vast improvement over the default Canadian landscapes and the transitions to FTX NRM and PFJ are pretty much seamless.

Cheers, Holger

Oops, sorry about that.  I thought I was out of the Orbx area there.  I'll go further east then.  Thanks Holger.

EDIT:  GoogleEarth Research reveals that a mear 15.7 miles to the east of Red Deer is the NRM border.  Cold Lake (my flight destination) is waaaaay deep (200 miles) into default FSX territory.  I must admit, it was a blizzard during most of my flight, so was very hard to see any differences in the scenery.  I must go back again. ;D
