Importing waypoints to plan g
« on: October 16, 2012, 07:56:06 PM »

Below are the instructions to import MM waypoints to plan G however MM waypoints export as (sdf) and plang doesn't recognize the file and can import.  how do I make them compatible?

"INSTRUCTIONS how to do a basic renew of Plan-G User Waypoints

NOTAM: For Plan-G v2.0.5.xxx  only!

Save your own created waypoints (if available) by exporting them via Plan-G (manage user waypoints)
Make a backup of your - UserWaypoints.sdf (to be found in \PlanG\Data)
Now delete the current/active - UserWaypoints.sdf
Replace it with the supplied "virgin" - UserWaypoints.sdf *
Run PlanG and  import your own and all my provided PlanG csv-files again."

If you want to a save single or many specified personal PlanG user waypoint(s) you have to mark them (blue) and export them (chose a name).
This exported file will be written in form of a csv file, that can be imported again, if needed.

All activities done in PlanG (rebuild database and generating userwaypoints) are saved in
- PlanG_FSX.sdf  (= all generated AFCADS)
- UserWaypoints.sdf (= all generated userwaypoints)
You cannot import or export an sdf file.
You can only write it back into \PlanG\data.

No really sure what you want to do with your mentioned sdf file.
If you want to do a basic renew of Plan-G User Waypoints
strictly follow the instructions.
After doing so it makes no sense to write back any sdf file into PlanG
This would over-write all imported user waypoints.

Maybe this is not clear
- Make a backup of your - UserWaypoints.sdf (to be found in \PlanG\Data)
This is just a backup, normally you don't need this file anymore.
