Orbx PFJ Pacific Fjords - Patch 002 released
« on: September 21, 2012, 08:27:11 PM »
This should be of interest to us over here at RTMM . . . Holger Sandmann has posted over at Orbx forums:

"Available for immediate download is FTX Pacific Fjords Service Pack 2 with a dual installer for both FSX and Prepar3D (P3D)."

"This second Service Pack for Pacific Fjords is primarily meant to achieve full compatibility with our Stewart CZST airport add-on but also fixes a number of issues posted by users or discovered by team members..."

Learn more and download here: (http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/48812-pfj-pacific-fjords-patch-002-for-fsxp3d-released/).

Fred,
CIRP has a very heavy load of scenery objects with all the bases and locations on the "ice" within a very short distance of CSZT and this will cause the FPS problems for most systems anyway.  With my ancient rig I always turn off CIRP unless I'm actually going to fly to one of the destinations in that scenery package.  The new patch (002), at least for the CSZT area, was implemented to correct some water anomalies that were occurring at the CSZT addon airport available from FTX.  These anomalies did not pose a problem with the default/RTMM CSZT just the addon.

I know that CIRP has a very high load, but before the ORBX patch the fps was OK around Stewart with CIRP active. So what I am trying to say is that PFJ SP2 patch made it worse for CIRP. My advice is to look into the CIRP files and see if there is some culprit files.

I'm glad you resolved this issue, but I am wondering why you posted in this thread.  Your topic has nothing to do with the new Orbx FTX PFJ update patch 002 release, whatsoever.   ???

If you experiencing texture problems (mountains have stranges patterns) after installing PFJ SP2 please follow this thread:

http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/48865-very-strange-ground-scenery-in-crm-after-longview-install/

The posting title might let you think this is only in tne CRM area, but the problem is everywhere in Orbx land where the file lclookup.bgl is used (for displaying mountain rock textures)

Holger offers a first substitute for the wrong "lclookup.bgl" in SP2.

Dieter is correct that there has been a problem with the PFJ patch 002.  Unfortunately the thread on the ORBX site is a complete Cluster F### in my opinion.  If you try to follow the links and posts it takes you to I wish you luck because "you're a better man than I Gunga Din!"
However if you read real close it seems to say that the links on post #1 for the patch have been corrected to the newest version of the PFJ patch 002.  When you look at the download the size is now 74.4 MB and the OLD patch was 71.1 MB I asked for a clear statement if this was true on the ORBX site.  I'm pretty sure that the link in post #1 by Holger will provide the correct patch 002 and as he says it can be installed on top of the first patch and it will fix the problems.  If I find out that the above is not correct I'll post here ASAP.
 >:(

EDIT:
The above is correct.  Just simply go to this link:

http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/48812-pfj-pacific-fjords-patch-002-for-fsxp3d-released/

download the new patch 002, it is 71.4MB.  Just re-run the .exe file over top of the first patch and your good to go.  I would forget the rest of the thread as it will probably just confuse the issue.

I determined by the screenshot coordinates that you are at Stewart, BC.  It appears to be the default version of the airport.  Reinstall patch 1, and see if that fixes your issue.  Patch 2 fixes the shorelines around Stewart if you installed the new CZST.  I don't know why the elevation would be wrong, but try going back, or install the new CZST.   ;)

I notice you're in "slew" mode.  That's not why, is it?  Just asking.

I installed the patch 002 and I have the airport Stewart of Orbx.
I have no worries there.
Your mesh resolution is at 5m ?
And you have, in the " FTX Central ", click on " Default FSX " then click on "Apply" and then click on " North America " and still click on "apply" ?

Have you used FTX Central to cycle from Default to North America which is the final step of the installation process?  Try opening FTX Central and set to Default the reset to North America and then check the mesh resolution is set to 5m like Handie suggests.

I do not have the payware ORBX Stewart Field.BEFORE I installed the patch. My default Stewart field was fine, with no stutters or frame rate hits.I'm in and out of there quite often.

After I installed the PFJ patch. My default Stewart field is all there,BUT.Now I'm getting savere stutters and serious frame rate hits in and around the Stewart Field.

The patch installed as required. After it installed,it did/does open FTX Central and is in default mode.Than I switch back to PNW and hit apply.I do have the correct patch installed, after the oop's was found,so to speak.

I think there still is something, not correct with the contents of the installer. This is my opinion.I currently avoid Stewart now, because of the current PFJ .002 patch.

The stutterings issue is a new problem for me,since I installed the PFJ patch
