FSX Wickedwilga. Jeff, yeah I extracted the files first and show all 4 aircraft variations, with subfolders in the Sim Obj tree. Moved effects to effects too. I just noticed that there are no thumbnails in any of the aircraft folders though, but I would think I'd see a window with a ? in it rather than a plane if that was the problem. I think I'll just deep-six the whole thing and look for another one. Floating GPS, huh? Great.

I get the feeling that if there are hot chicks in the plane, the plane probably sucks.  There are no virtual passengers in VC mode, only when viewed from the outside.

Here's a pic of the Wilga's in my aircraft hangar.  They do come with thumbnails already.

There is a problem with the rain on the windshield, in VC that needs to be fixed.  And the built-in GPS floats in the air, right in your face.  I'm glad it was freeware.

At least it has a GPS Jeff, the Aerosoft Wigla has no pop up panels!

I am finding this plane to be a basket case.  There are multiple problems.  I fixed the windows so you can see through them when it rains.  But when it stops raining the windows go black.  I've been working with alpha channels, but no joy.  There are also misplaced effects, like exhaust flames and smoke that are not where they should be.  Also, when I look out the side window of the plane, I can't see the wings.  I can see the wingtip lights, though.  I was able to get rid of the floating GPS.

Thanks for being the guinea pig Jeff. I'm now convinced there will be no Wilgas forthcoming in my hangar. But if we could xfer the hot chicks...maybe floating hot chicks. Yeah.

Jeff,

this Wilga you are showing is a very old FS2004 modell.

If you really like the Wilga (like I do) I recommend to buy the Aerosoft Wilga X.

They nailed the cockpit on that one. Wish it had floats. Thanks for the screenshot link.

I really like the Aerosoft Wigla as well, but it is an unfinished product which is why they probably offer it as a discount itiem. I don't know enough about the inner workings of FSX but I wonder which Wigla would make the better fixer upper? I bet if Jeff put his mind to it he would make one or the other a better fly :)

Jeff:

Some time past, I worked on a (so-called) improvement for the older Wilga's panel, and although it was no work of art, it worked for me.  So I Zipped it up and sent it along in an email.  See whether it helps any.

Ack-shully, it's in two parts.  I had never gotten around to re-vamping the .CAB files, so the original panel folder's a tad bloated, alas.  Instructions contained therein.

Thanks Jon, I just finished installing it.  Am booting up FSX as I type.  Will report anything I find, or whatever.  I am still "on the fence" about purchasing the Aerosoft version.  Messing around with a freeware plane is harmless, but I don't know if I want to "own one".  I already have almost 3,000 planes, helicopters, cars, boats, subs, pedestrians, skydivers, etc, etc, etc, in my fsx hangar.  I don't feel like I should buy a plane that has issues.  Payware planes are suppose to work out of the box.

How do you guys get screenshots of 'Select Aircraft' or your 'Scenery Library'? Screen capture software of some sort? Inquiring minds...

I use a freeware program called "MWSnap".  It will capture any rectangular area, fixed rectangular area, window/menu, or entire desktop.  It is great, but if you want to put Latitude and Longitude in you pics, I use "snapper".  Use Google search to find them.
