I don't have the scenery yet, but I want to make a note that probably the CIRP operating base at Stewart (CIRP_operations_base.bgl) will not work.

Perhaps one of the new owners can give us an info about that.

Dieter

Many greetings
Dieter

I agree with Dieter.

And, if anyone can post screens from Hyder, the small town a few miles SW from Stewart.
Something I have started in photoreal, but paused when Russ has confirmed he has done this wonderful US town , closed to the canadian border.

Thanks,

Xavier

Hello,

I bought and installed Stewart Airport (CZST) of Orbx today and I made a post on the forum Orbx because I had some problems:

" Hello,

Little problems at CZST, some objects and people are partly buried in the ground ::)
And, there are a airplane, in front, which is in the trees ;)

The resolution of the mesh is 5m, the patch for Pacific Fjords was already installed before installing CZST and North America was selected in FTX Central before the installation.
I also then selected "FSX Default" and "apply" and handed North America then "apply", without solving the problem. "

I was told that these objects and people were not from the Orbx scene but from Return to Misty Mooring and, indeed, I could see that the scene "CIRP_opreration_base" was mixed with the scene Orbx.
So I, for now, turn off the file CIRP_operation_base.bgl

So this is what I saw ;)

Yep, You can only use the CIRP operations base with the default PFJ version of Stewart airport. Not the new payware edition. No update will be made for this new airport.

Isn't that girl on the scooter the same one waiting for the ferry in Ketchikan? I tried the new Stewart today and I noticed the bar was gone. But they gave us a new place not far away. texerrn

Would be sad if Orbx missed  Hyder, "The friendliest little ghost town in Alaska"

Thanks Jeff,

@Dieter, that's what I'm thinking. In the reality, Hyder looks like a 19th century small town, with nice old buildings, "back in old time".

@Jeff and Handie, what do you think about this new scenery ? A must to have ?

Hello,

Two small shots, one of Stewart Airport and a nice little place a little further, in winter.
Xavier, the new airport is very nice indeed, but it's difficult to tell if it's "a must to have", each having its own preferences and expectations ;)
There are many pictures on the forums of Orbx and Pilot Virtuel, you can see this for yourself.

My initial reaction as I touched down and taxied around the airport was "What's up with all the trees?".  It is hard to see your plane when you're turning around because of the big bushy trees. (see nadine's last shot above) I don't remember the stock version being like that.
The resolution is sharp and clear.  You can see just how run-down and unkempt the airport is.  Doesn't anyone work there?  The grass needs mowing, trees trimmed, sweep up those rocks, and fresh paint on the buildings.  It looks abandoned, except for the old guy reading the paper, and some object flow guy near a hole in the cement with cones around it.  There is no AI traffic, because they would apparently run into the mountains.

I'm sure Russ put a great deal of effort into this project, but I'm having a hard time appreciating it.  So in retrospect, I'd say this is NOT a must-have airport.  It's a curiosity at best.  To see the sharper images is cool, I guess.  But you can just look at some screenies to see that, then save your $33 for an airplane or something.

(my 2 cents worth)
