Helicopter question
« on: February 18, 2024, 05:35:31 AM »
Maybe those who fly helicopters can help me.

I started to try flying a helicopter, the Bell 47J Ranger. I changed my joystick elevator axis to the cyclic longitudinal axisand elevator trim buttons to cyclic longitudinal trim. Now, when flying longer distances I would  have to always hold the joystick forward which is quite annoying. I can trim this but when accicentally touching the josticks cyclic longitudinal axis (when making a turn) the longitudinal trim is set to 0.

How do you handle this?

Hmmm Karl.. Well, I set up two totally different profiles in my controls.... one for aircraft and the other helicopters.. but there is a bug in the system..... helicopters use the legacy flight model, from my understanding, whereas aircraft use the Modern Flight model.

So if you use helicopter, try switching to the Flight Model > Legacy.

Here is a good video on the helicopter setup of the model as well as the controller setup.
