Brad, Doug and Jsapair,
you are right and I totally agree that there is really a lot of stuff in the RTTM area to fly to.
But my point is that there is too much to fly to! It is like in the supermarket: You look for some cold cut for dinner and have 200 choices and cannot decide what to take! LoL
The from “Here2There” thread is a big step forward! Thanks for that!
For the beginner, however, it would be (and it is) helpful to have packages to install and be ready to fly 10 to 20 or 30 destinations (maybe along with a Dispatch or story). That makes it easier for the beginners. And not all of us are into installing things in the sim! Especially in FSX it is a pain … It is fairly easy now (thanks for your achievements! And thanks to P3D2) but it still is not my favorite spending of time. I still think it would be great to have the big solution and to be abel to install all the available content for one Orbx-Area in one run. I could install in 15 minutes and go flying. I could look at a nice cabin or Dispatch and just go flying without spending time to install anything. That would be great!
For me for example it is a no-go to read a Dispatch and to be instructed (at the end btw!) that I need to install several cabins/locations. Take Dispatch no 1 as an example: I read through it and at the end I am told to go to another page (scenery-page) and to find (not linked!) and install 8 (not 7 as the numbers say – there are two “no. 5”) sceneries. Thanks, but no thanks! (BTW: After readings Dispatch 1 I didn’t go one with 2…).
At the Dispatches it would be great to have one (third) column with the “What you will need” content. And in that column should be one link to one package with all the relevant scenery/locations (at least as an alternative to the individual sceneries) so it can be downloaded and installed in one run.
That is already the case in the later Dispatches, like 18 and 17.
BTW: I think that all the scenery for Dispatch no 1 are in the Legacy Package, right? If so, why not linking the package as such (answer: because experienced user may have some of that content already, o.k.) or at least showing that this is the case.
Sorry for the long post!
