Prepar3D-Version 5 / Re: ORBX Global Freeware Airports in V5

Norm, you are a FSGOD when it comes to this stuff.

My only problem is I removed V4 completely and can not download the Package due to this.

Thanks Rod and I Agree about those edges.  But one thing I and noticed about Karl’s video causes me to want to want to remove my ASP3D completely and reinstall.  I noticed his messages of weather updates are working and mine is not  even though I have it checked to show.

.... tomorrow I will reinstall and see what happens,

Karl, thanks for the video   :)

I am still using the 1080 GTX and running 4K with pretty much everything set to ultra-which works well when NOT using  “ Enhanced Atmospherics “  once I turn on  “ EA “  FPS drops from 30+ to 14- and my VRAM gets eaten up within minutes. To bad as well I love the immersion  “ EA “ produces.
When not using ASP3D I can run “ EA “ with better results both with FPS and VRAM usage but only for 30 minutes or so but, my 1080 is feels pushed to it’s limits. Of course I can go back on the sliders but, I enjoy all the eye candy to much.

Once the GeForce 3080 line comes out  I will pick one up but, in the mean I can hope for another hotfix for V5 which hopefully will fix the VRAM issue and who knows maybe even some updates with “AE” after it still is Beta and of course ASP3D will keep improving.

Just wondering if anybody is using “ Enhanced Atmospherics “  along with ASP3D and what results are you getting concerning FPS and VRAM usage ?

Thanks for the tip.
Nice shots of the Misty Green Goose.
Last time I flew a Goose was in FSX the default model which had a cool VC and 2D panel.

Loved that Harrison syndrome landing!

That was brilliant how you showed your settings Karl.   I will do the same and post in this thread when time allows.

Hope some  others do the same.

Norm, can not agree more than to each their own eyes.  Different screens GFX cards and probably lots of other variables causes us to use these adjustments to achieve picture quality to our personal liking.

Did you feel  the video I posted looks washed out or maybe dark with my settings
Would be fun if you posted a small video as I did showing what yours looks like with your settings.
I was just flying over mountains in the PFJ area and watching my VRam

... I am looking forward to ActiveSky for V5.

Great you are enjoying V5 as well.  :)

Hej Kaha,

I am using the enhanced atmospheric weather within P3Dv5.

Have everything checked here and set to max except cloud draw distance which is set to the middle 80 mi.

Cloud quality is looking great, really a improvement in fact never seen  a better flight environment in V4 .5 even with REX Enhancements and PTA in my opinion.

The environment has more depth Using the real sky feature ( I guess it’s called ) on my setup anyway in comparison than with V4.5  and my Orbx products.

Within P3dV5

Brightness 0,90

Bloom slider set at 0,30

Saturation 1,0

Dynamic Reflection set to Ultra

all other sliders set to Max or Ultra

Will be awesome days ahead once ActiveSky and REX get upgraded V5!

Wow!

Excellent landing at Hang ‘Em.  I have landed there many times but never so precise as you.  I always am battling winds and that approach to the platform.  I for one am enjoying your videos :)

Nice screenshots here and you landed that helicopter perfect!

General Discussion / P3D V5... always something!
« on: April 13, 2020, 11:06:19 AM »
Just when I told myself I will take it easy and hold off with purchasing FS Programs except for maybe the new Boulder City by Orbx before the new MSFS 2020 debuts. Now, comes along P3D V5.  I know it will take time before all my present programs for P3D V4.5 will be up upgraded to run in P3D V5 but, that new weather and water is too tempting not to give it a whirl.
The nice part is P3D V5 is a stand alone program and can be installed on the same PC as P3D V4.5 which will allow me to have fun / testing until my current programs are upgraded from V4.5 to V5 then do the dreaded change over to 100% P3D V5
...am I making any sense here  :-\

At this point I think no one knows just how the RTMM scenery content can exist in MSFS 2020 if, at all.

I will always use the P3D platform along side with MSFS 2020 until a solution is comes out that will allow RTMM sceneries in MSFS 2020.

At this point I guess “ just trying to have my cake and eat it to “ as the saying goes.

Great to see you back.  Happy that pipeline is all clear  nothing worse when the heart throws a rod.  We all need a tune up now and then.   ;)

Good luck with the installs and hope to see your friend around here soon.
