General Discussion / Re: Plan-G DB file for all RMM scenery?
« on: January 30, 2011, 12:53:38 PM »
I don't know if we've got a complete Plan-G database yet. Something I'll have to look into. Great idea though and contact me at my email if you would like to discuss some scenery designs. My email is in any of our readme files.

Addon Scenery and Enhancements / Re: Congrats!!
« on: January 30, 2011, 12:45:46 PM »
I want to add my congratulations to all those responsible for these tremendous sceneries,  well done.!!!!
One quick question----what do those clock face like signs mean on the river bank at Misty's.   Could they mean " No Spandex" ?? .    ;)

Those signs at Misty's are for our amphibious aircraft friends to use if there isn't any space left at the floatplane docks. You can water taxi up the streams and then sink your landing gear into the water, pull up to the land between the signs, give her some power and you should be able to climb out of the water and up onto the land. Then find yourself a parking spot and come on inside for a little visit. On departure, just reverse the process or take off from the dirt airstrip.

I'm not too sure you should be walking around in spandex at Khutzeymateen with all those trigger happy security guards there. They're going to either take a potshot at you or invite you up to their quarters for some closer inspections.

LOL!!  ;)

General Discussion / Misty's is looking for...
« on: January 30, 2011, 12:03:58 PM »
Aircraft repaints in Misty's style. Scenery with a "Bush" theme. Mission's that "Fit" in the "Pacific Fjords", any other enhancements from developers interested in sharing their freeware creations.

Contact me via email if you're interested in joining our team and we can discuss this further.

You're welcome.

Everything we've put out there is free for you so have fun. And don't forget to give thanks for the ORBX developers who created the stunning "PFJ" package that we're lucky enough to create our little stuff in.

Addon Scenery and Enhancements / Re: an Idea for a scenery project...
« on: January 30, 2011, 08:29:38 AM »
Hmmmm.... gears are churnin in my 'noggin.  ;D
So you're saying start with a pristine patch of PFJ goodness that doesn't have any trees at it. "Have the trees in bundles" A little more on that please.... Unless you mean that it's a cluster of felled timber.?!! Eureka!! I see it now.  ;)

It's a place where a developer has decided to build something at. So they go in there and clear out a few trees. Not a lot mind you. Just enough to need a "Sky Crane" operator that needs to be hired to remove the bundled up logs. Okay I can make that phase happen definitely. I think. ???

Company assets begin construction of the site. and I have a couple of ideas for objects on that. There's one in the file that uses partially constructed buildings. It's a larger home object though, not a small cabin structure. So for this storyline, the construction project is not your typical log cabin by the waters edge. It's more in line with a tourist destination, like a wilderness lodge with several structures.

For that, you're going to need to bring in a few caterpillars and land clearing equipment to make the foundation proper. Got that covered with some of the objects in Wait a minute... Some of those are already in place!!! Hold on... I already have an ongoing construction site that's completed in the scenery library. We might already be at phase two!! ;D  Check out "Moresby Camp" in our scenery library. There's our "Phase One" starting point for this.

Phase Two: Is where this little project picks up. I could update it so that there are cleared logs that need to be picked up by "Sky Crane" op's. I don't know of any "Sky Crane" objects I could use to give people the idea of what's happening with that phase though. Hmmm, let's see. I could place a larger helicopter object, but it's not a "Sky Crane". Wait... another idea for that.. there is an object that could make that phase work alright. It's a "Blackhawk" helicopter with rotation efx on it. I place that in the air and have a few animated people underneath it. You know the one's with the waving arms. Place log piles underneath it like it's lifting them off the ground. That helicopter is moving the logs over to a waiting barge with logs on it. I can do that. I got all of those goodies. Excellent.  ;D

Phase Three: Lodge construction begins. We have the construction of the buildings start using those types of objects mentioned a few paragraphs back. Partially constructed buildings.

Phase Four: Completed buildings are placed and painted. More objects placed that show progress.

Phase Five: Lodge is completed, tourists arrive, tourism aviators arrive with tourists, and project is completed.

What do you think about it?  :-\

There are trip tix to play with for a good portion of our scenery ready to go right now. Just look for the "Trip Tic" icon and you will be able to download one and try it out. Best bet is to start at the top and you'll definitely find them.

Good question. I'm pretty sure it will work because I've yet to hear that it doesn't. Best thing is to pick one of our scenery area's and give it a try.

Be sure to let us know,

We did it for people like yourself. That's the motivation really, bringing people back to that atmosphere and immersion factor.

Thanks for the kind comments,

Help and Troubleshooting / Re: Help installing scenery
« on: January 29, 2011, 09:32:38 PM »

Please read through your readme file for any scenery of ours and you'll find a section underneath the Installation section in the readme about "Library Placement". This will help you understand where our stuff needs to be in your FSX Scenery library order for it to show up in FSX. Especially when FTX North America is active using the FTX Central application for ORBX scenery.

Especially pay attention to the section that talks about "Library Insertion Points" and learn how to do that to get your library to be set up so that each time you switch on the ORBX scenery area of North America to "active" using the FTX Central application, our scenery files will still be at the top of the FSX library order and you'll see our stuff in the "Pacific Fjords" of ORBX as intended.

Any further questions on how to use the FTX Central application and Library Insertion points beyond what you can work with in our readme files, will need to be worked on over in the ORBX support area.

That should get you working, but if not, let us know and we can steer you in the right direction.

General Discussion / Re: Hi! Tailgunner
« on: January 29, 2011, 10:27:29 AM »
Welcome back Tailgunner!!

I think he means the scenery library order in FSX actually. And our files should be on top of the ORBX entries and OZx too if you have that. Please see the readme files for any of our scenery that discusses the ORBX FTX Central feature for Library insertion points.

That tool, once it's properly set up, will make sure our files are always on top.
