Misty Flying Club and Multi Player / Tour Aircraft Limitations
« on: March 28, 2018, 05:54:01 PM »

How can I do the following? I don't fly C-47's, DC-3's etc. But I like the tour for the short fields that requires those. Is there any other way to do that tour if I wanted to do the flights for Misty Flying Club in a 185, Cub, etc.?

Misty Flying Club and Multi Player / I need help with this
« on: March 23, 2018, 10:30:23 AM »
Unable to get the Kcars program to work for me and MFC. HELP!!

So, I click on the Cigar box icon. It shows a small window with my MFC Pilot ID and Password. I saved those into the program on first install. But now when I start Cigar Box (V1.1.2.0) , I get "Login Connection error" The request was aborted. The connection was closed unexpectedly.

Okay, what are the work flow steps to actually participate in MFC? Maybe I'm doing something that needs to happen after I'm sitting in the aircraft? If there are clear directions that actually show a step by step plan on what to do, please let me know because I'm confused obviously. And concerning how to make these multiple processes clear needs to be a big help for people like me that aren't so proficient with multiplayer TBH. Probably a reason why I've never really taken a great fancy to this element of the sim before unless it's explained where I actually can grasp the process.

So, Should I start P3D first? Then what? Kcars? Discord? FSCloud? Somethings not right and I know it's early in the process but if I'm going to participate, I need to know what to do? I want to take part but
I'm losing patience.

General Discussion / Keep Spud in your thoughts
« on: January 22, 2018, 01:56:12 PM »

We've heard back from "Spud" who's been MIA recently. He's dealing with some health concerns and I just wanted to ask that you all send some positive vibes his way.

We're here for you Spud so whenever you're up to it, there's a table and a cold one on stand by at "Misty's"

Misty's Place / New Job and new career challenges
« on: September 25, 2017, 01:42:38 PM »
Hi folks,

Good news. I am now employed full time again for the Freeman Company. Audio/Visual Department and based here in Orlando, FL.

Bad news is that I'll be traveling a lot more in the future and I will be spending less time in the cockpit here and in the sim.

But you can be sure my R&R time will keep me visiting here as much as I can.

Misty's Place / Hurricane Irma Updates
« on: September 08, 2017, 03:51:26 PM »
Looks like Hurricane Irma is going to be a serious threat to the Orlando area. My wife Nina and I are planning on riding it out. We've taken the necessary precautions and have secured our property as much as possible. Our supplies are good for a couple of weeks. Our major concern here is wind, not water since we're inland. However lot's of rain and hurricane force winds are not something to take lightly.

I'll try to post updates when I can here so I have some sort of outlet to communicate.

Wish us luck.

Misty's Place / Doug is feeling better / Solar Eclipse Meeting
« on: August 07, 2017, 01:05:56 PM »
Good news! Heard from Doug and he's doing much better. His eyes have been corrected and cataract surgeries went well. He did have one small micro-stitch that needed repair and he's on the mend for that. He should be back at "Misty's Place" soon and it's going to be nice to have him back. So please send out those encouragement posts to welcome him back once he arrives.

I'm driving up from Orlando to meet up with Doug to watch the upcoming Solar Eclipse on August 21st. We'll be meeting in the morning near where he lives and then finding a spot along the eastern shore of Lake Moultrie. We'll be near a small town named Bonneau, SC at the "Watermark Bar and Grille" which sits along the lake shore.

If anybody else want's to join us, come on down!! Just don't forget to bring your Eclipse viewing glasses!!

General Discussion / Oh where oh where has my Season Switcher gone??
« on: July 22, 2017, 11:31:28 AM »
Oh where oh where can it be?

Wow. Somehow my RTMM Season Switcher executable file has disappeared. The curseason.txt file was still in the addon scenery folder but the .exe file has gone AWOL. Erased from existence. (Doc Brown)

Now I just tried to download the RTMM Season Switcher from the website but it is being flagged as a Trojan Horse virus. I was able to download it after a couple of tries and turning off my Avast Internet Security program. But Microsoft Security Essentials is also blocking the extraction of the zipfile and all I get are the readme text files in the zip. No .exe file extracted.

Addon Scenery and Enhancements / 4AK Flatten Needed
« on: July 21, 2017, 12:48:35 PM »
Hello and I have a request,

Since I don't know how to make an airport from scratch in FSX/P3D or create a flatten, I need someone's help who can assist with that at an airport that I believe needs one. 4AK Livengood Camp in Alaska.

There is no Global Vector airport with that code but it exists in the simulator (P3D 2.5). I've updated to the latest edition of Vector (1.5.2) and the airport elevation correction tool does not pull that entry up. Other similar coded airports show up like 4AK1, etc, but not 4AK so I can't make use of that tool to fix the issue there. It's a small pond on the one end of the airstrip property and you can see how the flatten currently in play is affecting the edge of the pond closest to the airstrip. I don't want to try and mask it or hide it, so believe that a flatten might do the trick.

Anyone else seeing this at that location? I'm using P3D and FSX with FTX Global, Vector and North American Landclass. I use the FTX Edition of the Pilots Global Mesh.

I'd post a screenshot but Photobucket took that ability away from me and I've yet to set up another image hosting service.

Misty's Place / Doug will be recuperating at "Misty's" for awhile
« on: July 19, 2017, 07:23:15 AM »

Doug wanted me to pass on the following information. He's going in today to have cataract surgery and will have that done on both eyes. However the procedures are a couple of weeks he won't be working on a computer since he needs to avoid bright light to let his eyes heal. 8)

So if you're trying to reach him and he doesn't reply, now you know why. He'll be hanging out at "Misty's" sitting in the booth in the back in the corner in the dark.

All the best Doug and I hope you have smooth surgical procedures and a speedy recovery.

Misty's Place / Leaving for awhile, need a break
« on: May 25, 2017, 04:46:49 PM »

So, I'm out of the cockpit for a bit. My wife and I will be taking a long overdue trip overseas very soon. I've been working far too much on my various jobs and hobbies and not focusing enough energy on family time. It's time to realign my priorities and my wife is in the top spot.

That means that the BWEP project and other scenery ideas I have are on a temporary hiatus. I'll be back but I need a break to get my real life commitments in order.

We will be leaving for Copenhagen Denmark, then boarding the Disney "Magic" for a 7 night "Norway Fjords" cruise. We'll be stopping at Stavanger, Alesund, Gieranger and Bergen before returning to Copenhagen. Then we will get off the ship and reboard the "Magic" for a 7 night "Baltic Sea" cruise with  stops in Stockholm Sweden, Helsinki Finland, St. Petersburg Russia and Tallinn Estonia.

I'll be meeting up with Robert Pomerleau when I arrive in Stockholm and am looking forward to his company as I take in the sights around the capital of Sweden. You may know Robert from watching his excellent videos produced here on RTMM.

So, I'll be away and taking a break for the foreseeable future but will be checking in here and there on the RTMM Forums to keep up on things. So please save me a spot at "Misty's". I'll be back refreshed and re-energized I hope.

Misty's Place / Hope you're alright Robert
« on: April 08, 2017, 10:01:59 AM »
Hearing the news of another senseless act of violence in our world. This time in Stockholm Sweden. Thinking about our own RTMM staff member, Robert Pomerleau who lives there. Hope you're alright and that this act of cowardice hasn't affected you or your family.

Healing thoughts for you and your home.

Misty's Place / Bad Kidney Stone
« on: March 22, 2017, 10:33:16 PM »
Dealing with a Kidney Stone ATM. Struck me hard on St. Patrick's day. I Had to go to the ER next morning and spent two days in the Hospital.  While there I had a surgical procedure done where they put in a stent to open up the ureter tube. But the stone is stuck and I have to endure another week of pain and suffering waiting for the next available slot in the surgeon schedule for a laser bombardment procedure.

That will come next Thursday. Maybe. Not confirmed but they're trying to make that happen for me. I hope I can survive the ordeal!!

Wish me luck!
