OK ... not a "fun" surprise when you are trying to get a new site online.  Thanks for the info. No need to post anything then.

What I like about a question like that ... everybody gets to learn something from it.  So there's no "dumb" questions on this forum.  Keep them coming.  Dan got to answer the question on the attachments and others will now know what the little white signs are for.

I had the same thoughts when I first flew to Lucky Lindy's. Looking around for a place to put it down ... saw airplanes on the ground ... (now where the heck did Kim put the runway THIS time?:-).  Ah, I wonder what those little white signs mean ... maybe, just maybe??? Yep .. that's where you land on the road passing by.  The little signs were new to me too.  All kinds of "fun" things tucked into these great locations!

Hey Paddler, welcome aboard.  I'll share a secret with you ... don't tell any of the guys.  Although we hope everybody enjoys this to the fullest ... we did it so WE ALSO could spend hours flying around in our favorite place!   My "joy" in doing the site was getting to fly to the new areas as Brad and Kim made them. I felt like some kind of pioneer.  Having made Misty Moorings previously, I thought I knew the area pretty darned well ... but I'm seeing places I have never saw before.  Sandspit? (sounds like something that should be illegal!). What a cool place ... and if you look it up and see a real pic of it ... it is exactly as it really is. And it gives us a new "base" and  some brand-new areas to go explore.

The additional areas ORBX/Holger put into PFJ expands it beautifully.  Ever wonder what was "behind" Stewart?  Check out the Elliot Fire Base ... there's a whole new world hiding back there for us.

We're also glad the page is "up" ... we'll fix a broken link here and there ... but now we can finally take a weekend and go fly this thing ourselves!  We will be right there off your wingtip enjoying this too!

PS and Welcome to all the new folks ... great also to see some old friends showing up. (Don't stand too near the paint bucket, we're liable to hand you a brush and put you to work! ... FREEware is another word for "volunteers welcome!"  :-)

Hi ... look at the "overview" at Misty's Place.  Look where the "amphib ramp" is located. You'll find those signs tell you to enter the water there ... because that's where we put the gravel for the ramp. :-)  You'll also find those same signs at Lucky Lindy's. There (cross yourself twice before trying) you land on a dirt road ... the little white signs indicate the landing area.

Try an amphib at Misty's Place and take it into the water between the signs, then turn to the right and follow the Misty Canal ... kind of a fun way to get to the take off area on Bostwick Inlet.

That help?

Scott ... thank you for your sharp eye.  I just re-uploaded the N's Glacial Lake, so the bgl is there now. Also for anyone reading this, I put a NOTAM up for the corrections we've made, thanks to Scott.

Dan ... your post was 2 am (in the morning?!) :-)  Anyway, when you say "tonight" do you mean as in Saturday night?  And did they give you an actual "time" for it ... I could put an alert up on the Home Page for folks.

Hi Brian ...

Well we are a little different at Misty Moorings.  Our "fans" will always come "first" on the site and have top billing. FTX is a "tool" we use to make Return to Misty Moorings happen for you. We are not affiliated with ORBX/FTX/PFJ in any way shape or form (except thankful personally for their efforts because it makes our personal flying time more fun). FYI, I actually BOUGHT PFJ, just like you did, so did our whole Misty Moorings Team ... no "free" copies, etc.  We did put the ORBX logo on the home page because we wanted people to know that our site is "powered by ORBX" ... you have to have it to run it correctly. This would keep people from being disappointed by having cabins flying in the air, etc.

As for "visually laying out the scenery" ... we did.  In alphabetical order, with thumbnails and blow up pictures. And we anticipate more folks will be adding sceneries (see help wanted on the "about" page). So this could get quite extensive in locations available, making the present layout the only one viable for what is to come. So we did the best we could ... alpha, thumbnail, description (storyline), access to zip and a map icon to instantly see "where" it is located.  And also, don't forget the map room. There is a list of every location available at Return to Misty Moorings ... click on it and you get the map on where it is. (You get to the Map Room from Misty's place.

Hopefully you'll get used to our layout.  We had a great time figuring it out and making it happen.

Safe Flying!

Scott ... got one fixed. George Inlet is part of the Nina's Landing package (mentioned there in the description) and the Firetower is part of the Elliot Firebase Package (mentioned).

Keep looking for us ... much appreciated.

Scott ... try them now ... they should work for you.

Trip Tics (Trip Tickets) are one of the unique features of Return to Misty Moorings.  These are basic, visual instructions for getting "from here to there." In Misty Fjords.  Also, there will be some stories, history and geography added to the text to make your flight even more enjoyable.

LSD (Low, Slow and Dangerous) ... the Trip Tics tours are mostly flown at 1200 feet (unless something taller than 1200 feet cannot be flown "around or over").  The weather ceilings in Misty Fjords are often at 1500 feet and visibility, because of rain, fog, or just moisture-laden air, makes visual sighting of waypoints and landmarks difficult at higher altitudes.  So we fly at 1200 feet so we can still find the turns we need to make ... even in (typical) poor conditions.  These routes take you "among" the fjords, not over them.  This is down and dirty flying ... and if you are good at it ... a great deal of fun.

Using the Trip Tics is relatively easy. There are two methods:
  • If you have a wide screen monitor, The first method is often preferred. You call up the trip tic online by going to the Addon Scenery location and pressing on the "Tic" icon there.  You then "size" that window the width of the Trip Tic.  Your flight simulator window is sized for the rest of your screen.  This way, you can scroll down and read while you are flying, never missing a waypoint. Your screen will look like this:

  • The second method is to click on the "Print-Able" copy on the online Trip Tic and a copy that you can print comes up. Copy it and print it. Fly using he whole screen and reading the hard copy.

If you find an error ... let us know, either here or using
