BWEP - New and Improved Web Page - by Doug and Garry

The BWEP page has been almost completely redesigned and edited. The new "format" will help you find things more easily and it gives us the ability to maintain the folders and files better.

THERE IS A MAJOR CHANGE ... the BWEP airports (per request of some) has been split out from the pipeline segments.  You will have to change your sim's scenery library and addon scenery folders to compensate for this new arrangement. There is a README at the top of the page that tells you what you must do.  Basically, it is taking out the pipeline segments and replacing them with new segments and the new BWEP airport folder.  Be sure your DELETE, do not overwrite, as some names are the same and you will get double objects).

We have made several updates along the way. The BWEP airport package has new airports that have been included in it now for the northern unfinished two pipeline segments. BWEP objects have been placed at all of them.  Notice there are two BWEP airport packages, one for "default" and one for "PAYware PAVD".  Again follow the instructions on the page to choose which one to download.

Garry has re-edited the web page so it reads more smoothly and makes instructions more clear. (It also makes some of them even more interesting).

Be sure to "clear browsing data" on your browser so you won't be bringing up OLD information for the web page.

Well, I mess them up ROUTINELY with all the edits and changes I make. And not having to track down MY error is really great. This thing really seems bullet proof. You guys really nailed it.

Rod ... it sure is working smoothly for me. I have it operational in both P3D V3 and V4. No problems at all. One thing I really appreciate is the internal error checking that nobody will know about. It catches those seasonal bgls that are "doubles" and fixes them.  I tried to screw it up on purpose and see what happened ... nothing happened.  This really helps me, as a designer, we can forget to set things with NoSeason ... or when we are working on a particular one in V3, forget to change it in V4.  The new system really handles these "self-induced" problems very well. Thank you.

Addon Scenery and Enhancements / BWEP - Flying the Pipeline
« on: August 01, 2019, 03:21:36 PM »
We are getting ready to launch a new & improved BWEP web page. This will be a lot easier to navigate. It is also easier for us to update things for you. (This is a part of the 2019 Refresh Program).

I'm presently flying the entire length of the finished sections of the pipeline looking for any breaks (mis-matches in object alignment).  I've flown at 250-400 feet above the pipeline from Valdez to Winter Park and have found no breaks yet. I'm doing this without ANY 3rd Party Mesh. There are no problems so far.

Watching the pipeline alignment and keeping the plane at the correct altitude is a lot of hands-on flying (no autopilot with this!). And it can make you a little weary ... until you realize that Brad put every one of those sections there perfectly ONE BY ONE!!!  And when you get done being awed by that ... then think about the REAL pipeline and the men and women who built it in this BARREN landscape with unforgiving weather. An amazing feat for all.

RTMM E-Switcher (Seasonal Season Switcher) - By Rob White and Rod Jackson

The new RTMM E-Switcher for changing scenery location seasons, specifically for the location, has been finished and is now available for download. You can find it in the Getting Started area under Step Table #6.  You can see Rod's full announcement of here.

Thanks to the beta team that spent a great deal of time on this. And a very special thanks to Rob White and Rod Jackson for this VERY IMPORTANT addition to RTMM.

Charlotte Lake Lodge - Now with ESwitcher Capability

Charlotte Lake Lodge was made compatible for the soon-to-be-released "E-Switcher". If you already have this location, you should re-download to get the new capabilities.

But it gets important for me at the website. When something goes wrong with an AI file, they are a devil to track down. It would be nice if we had a standard that put them in the same plAce...frankly, just like a scenery location folder that one would activate.

General Discussion / Re: AI on sloped runways

Same here, fascinating thread.

We are on the same wavelength. I think Garry brings up an interesting point to explore, so this will probably be next on my list for 2019 Refresh for the site.  Currently we have our hands full with the beta project being run and getting ready to roll out. Once that is settled down, I'll start looking into this and see what we find.  Thank Rod/Steve.  Good comments.  Thanks for the idea Garry.

Thanks Steve ... the reason I'm asking, as we do 2019 Refresh on pages other than the Scenery Page, this may be something we would want to standardize. Keeping them all named the same way would allow people to keep them alphabetically in the Scenery Library and turn them on and off and repair them easier.  "Traffic RTMM Misty's Place"  ... all would be under "T".  Just thinking out loud.

I believe we've put them into different places. To me it makes sense that if you have traffic for a specific location that it would be in that location's folder. But there are some "more general" ones for whole areas (RTMM Shipping), and they would be in a different place. It might be worth considering a little standardization ... let's allow the AI traffic experts to weigh in on this one.

When making a correction or update, I find it difficult to find the "original" file that one may want to delete or modify. I'm wondering why we wouldn't add a "general area" RTMM traffic group similar to adding a scenery location ... "RTMM AI SHIPPING" ... then activated it like a normal scenery?  That way we would always know exactly where things were located. I don't know the reasons for our "positioning". It would be interesting to know what could be done.

Misty's Place / Re: New Microsoft Flight Simulator coming!!!

If you are willing to make the scenery and support it, I'll put it up. But none of this stuff is TIME FREE.  I, personally won't be making any scenery for anything but P3D/FSX.

Yep, you'll miss us because aren't going to rebuild RTMM for every new flight sim that comes along.

Help and Troubleshooting / Re: SimObjects Question (P3D V3 and V4)
« on: July 11, 2019, 08:18:47 AM »
I didn’t realize the folders were empty. When I took out the old AI models for Hawaii, I noticed those folders strayed and thought this might be the cause of the continuing CRDs I’m getting. Thank you.

Do you know if they can be deleted, like the shaders, etc?
