While I haven't tried the pipeline yet (sounds fun), this conversation got started about the Juneau  animated hangar and my "mesh problem."

I tried installing FS Global 2010 Scenery Mesh as suggested above and it has not changed my scenery quality, seemingly no matter where I have it placed in the order.  After the install, it was placed very low (layers 75-82), so I gradually moved up FS Global 2010 (North America and Local Meshes) and tried various iterations.  No changes.  I currently have it above all ORBX scenery just following all my RTMM scenery and no change.  The major scenery I have added now includes: Tongass Fjords X; FTX ORBX SAK, PFJ, PNW, NA Airport Pack; FS Global 2010 FTX.  This post -- http://forum.mistymoorings.com/index.php?topic=3271.msg28235#msg28235 -- has a couple other screenshots of what I am seeing.  Suggestions?  Thanks for all the help.

Thanks for all the interesting feedback.  So I guess I have the newer libraries in my FSX and I should no longer expect to see an animated hangar.  Oh well, that was a cool feature.

But now that you mention it, how do I fix the "mesh problem"!?  Is that what is my landscape looks not so great?  In a previous thread I questioned whether ORBX and/or Tongass was working properly, but got the sense I had it as tuned as I could get.

Installed the SAK Sea Plane package today and I am trying to determine why I can't see the animated hangar described in the README.  In this photo you can see the location where I think the hangar should be, but it is full and doesn't appear to have a door.  Any ideas?

I do have the EZ_1 and Snow Dog Tour libraries installed.

Thanks!  Brian

Thanks for all the feedback.  I am feeling better after an afternoon flight to my first USFS cabin!  Starting to appreciate all that new scenery even at the current Juneau airport (the one thing I didn't upgrade yet from ORBX).  I'll look into those upgrade links too.  Thanks.  Brian

I played around with the scenery toggling ORBX files on and off.  This picture is the Mary Island Lighthouse.  That what I should be expecting?  Yes, it is clearly terrible when ORBX scenery is turned off, but not the WOW effect I guess I was expecting from their site's pretty pictures!  But if this is as good as it gets for my setup, I'll just get back to flying and start searching for the RTMM cabins.

...there is a very nice DX10, FSX application that adds lots of features to the FSX game engine, smooths out the graphics and for lots of us has virtually eliminated the CTD's many experienced with plain vanilla FSX/DX9

Is this the Steam Edition?  Should I try that next or downgrade my DirectX which appears to be at version 11?

Here is a screenshot from PANT where I don't think much has changed, that help?

Curious... what version of DirectX should I be running and would that impact this?  My FSX simulator had been idle for about 5 years before last week when I started adding RTMM and ORBX goodies, so I am playing catch up on some of the technical issues and thinking I might have missed a few things in the intervening period.

No luck.  I have all the ORBX scenery saying it is installed and in the scenery library but I don't think it is visible.  With the snow storm on the east coast today, it looks more like Alaska out my window than it does on my PC!  I guess I'll move this troubleshooting over to the ORBX forums and hope it is something simple I have missed.  Thanks for the suggestions.

What would be a good way to make sure the region package is working?  I have that installed now and I can't really tell.

Thank you!  Yes, I did have the ORBX libraries, but none of the FTX Globals.  So after another night of downloads, I'll post tomorrow and let you know if all this works!

So to recap... I'll eventually have the following scenery

All the RTMM scenery
All the RTMM object libraries
[insertion point here and FTX Central takes care of ORBX sequence]
ORBX Global libraries
ORBX FTX scenery (Pacific Fjords, Pacific Northwest, Southern Alaska)
ORBX FTX Global BASE Pack
ORBX FTX Global Vector
ORBX FTX Global openLC North America
Tongass_Fjords

Then I'll need a new computer right?!

Do I ALSO need to buy the ORBX FTX Global packs? BASE, North America, Trees, Vector?  I see now that BBQSteve mentions that above but I didn't know what that referred to until now.

Back at the troubleshooting... so some progress.  The RTMM object test is now working again.  That scenery file was indeed pointing to the wrong location.  However, I do not believe I am seeing anything new from ORBX.  I am at PANT and PAKT and not seeing the ORBX NA Pacific Fjords scenery.  Those files are pointed to the right location in the scenery library.  I have rebooted the computer and made sure FTX Central is not running.  So I'll move on now to diagnose ORBX scenery.  Any good locations you would suggest where I will really see that scenery pop and know if it is working (like the RTMM object test)?

Not sure what's happening now...  While last night (pre-ORBX), the RTMM Scenery Tester was working.  Today, all those objects are gone.  I am setting insertion point below the RTMM Two as shown below.  I am not convinced the new ORBX scenery is visible OR the RTMM goodies I installed last night. See anything unusual here?

Ok, that tip with FTX helps.  I was leaving it running and not letting it handle things.  I have the insertion point set and am trying to get the scenery back in sequence.  Stay tuned!  Brian
