Screenshots / Re: Coming Home

Nice sunset shot!
I love everything Alaska + BC... Ketchikan has been my home base for years in flight simming. Now I have two bases - one at Misty's, the other one at Bella Coola, BC. Make one of your southbound flights over the valley and be my guest (beers are free, not photo sessions!) :D

I have downloaded it and created my own folder, so I can copy/paste locations to it and switch the map to display only the locations I havve installed.

Sadly, each time I do this, I seem to be missing something, as when I come to fire it up for the next session all my copied map markers have reverted to the generic yellow pin marker.  I'm assuming there is a trick I'm missing for copying/saving this data, so does anyone have any pointers for me, before I try to rebuild my custom map markers list again?

Hi Beardgoblin,

When you first open the KMZ map downloaded from RTMM, it connects to my Dropbox account to download the actual file including all geodata and styling information. I've done this intentionally in order not to force users to re-download the map with each update. When you copy markers to a custom folder, you also copy references to styles used in the map. Now, when you save and re-open the map, Google Earth reads in the reference data, but cannot find actual links to markers (image files) used in original (networked) KMZ file, hence falling back to default markers (yellow pins).

Here is the map, which the original KMZ file downloads from my Dropbox account. You can add your custom folders and markers to it as you've done before. If you save and re-open the map, it should show the custom markers as you wish. Please note however that you won't be able to get updates with this file. Updates are available only if you get the map from here or here.

Hope it helps!

Hi Norm,

Just a quick gotcha... Labouchere Saw Mill Complex says "no need to redownload..." showing red exclamation mark. Shouldn't it be green instead?

PS: Dunno if I'm posting under a proper thread. Please remove as appropriate. Thanks!

Hi Walter,

If I'm not mistaken, it's shipped with the Yes Bay Lodge scenery, which you can download from here.
I'd also recommend you grab a copy of Google KMZ Map made for RTMM, where Silver King Lodge is also shown as part of the Yes Bay Lodge scenery.

Hope it helps!

General Discussion / New maps for Little NavMap
« on: January 19, 2019, 02:23:17 AM »

I don't know if you have been using them already, but I have made a bunch of new maps, which make some widely popular map and chart data accessible from Little NavMap. I hope you'll find them useful too.

To install the maps, download and unzip the file, then copy and paste the folder data found inside it to the location where you have your copy of LNM installed. Say yes to overwrite, when asked. You'll find my maps in a drop-down list of available maps, below all other ones and marked Custom, as shown on the image below.

Maps included:
  • Google Maps (Default)
  • Google Maps (Satellite)
  • Google Maps (Terrain)
  • U.S. VFR Sectionals
  • U.S. IFR Enroute Low
  • U.S. IFR Enroute High
  • U.S. IFR Area Charts
  • U.S. Terminal Area Charts (TAC)
  • U.S. Helicopter Route Charts
Disclaimer: All map data is provided free of charge and publicly accessible.

Addon Scenery and Enhancements / Re: RTMM's "Refresh 2019" campaign

Hooray finally, I can see and open both the NOTAMs and NEWs section and the individual links posted above previously in logged in and out states. Thank you very much indeed!
Special thanks go to Norm for hinting this particular forum section in his post, Dan for fixing it and Jeff for bearing with me...  :P
I hope I'm not alone.

Hi.  NOTAMs and NEWS is the very first section, at the top of the forum main page.  Your link is ONE thread about the NOTAMs and NEWS events that happen, and in chronological order.

This is the whole section called "NOTAMS and NEWS"-

Big, CAPITOL letters ... in a section above the rest.   ;)

Thank you guys! That's weird, really... I can't see 8) this section even when I'm logged in. Neither can I open it by clicking or copying/pasting into the address bar the link that Jeff shared above:

Redirection through Dan's link gives me the same error message, as before:
An Error Has Occurred! The topic or board you are looking for appears to be either missing or off limits to you.

« on: January 10, 2019, 04:10:31 PM » link to that post (The post appears to reside in the "NOTAMs and NEWs section" : a more secured forum" and is not accessible without login.
(Both links go to the very same posting in the "NOTAMs and NEWs section")

Hmm, interesting... I guess I have a more serious issue here. Norm, can you please point me to that section of the forum? I've checked all sub-forums but couldn't find any one named 'NOTAMs and News'. Just to be on the safe side: you don't mean this page, do you?:  ???

Am I the only one?
But I can refer to the "Refresh 2019 List" provided with the link on "Scenery" page.

You are not. No matter if I'm logged in or not none of the links below work for me:

But I can also view the Refresh 2019 List PDF on my Chrome browser v71.0.3578.98 and Firefox.
I've even logged in to the forum through a proxy server to no avail, alas...

Weird indeed. To "test" if it's an IP-related problem, I'm writing this post from a proxy server which has an IP address different from mine. Still the same issue...
I think it's that kind of issues when one has no other option than resolving himself to the fact. :)

Maybe a security thingy or perhaps the coding to make it show as an url or underlining. Works fine for me but will post fresh link with just plain url:

I can't open the page either. This is the message I get:
The topic or board you are looking for appears to be either missing or off limits to you.

Addon Scenery and Enhancements / Re: PAKT SP1 and v115

I have PAKT v115 installed, can I assume it contains SP1?

Yes, it's the latest version. You can also check this through FTX Central, which is gonna ask you to update if you have older versions of Orbx products.

Very good start of the year, thank you, Doug!!
From what I can see, Bowser Lake and Burnett Inlet cabins point to version 1 zips. Can you pls check the links? Thanks!

Thanks, Brad! Looks wonderful, especially under the snow (which is quite a rare event these days in my part of the world).

Welcome to Misty Moorings, Walter!

Your best bet is to visit Here2There page, where you can get all the info needed to explore the vast Alaska wilderness or to grab a copy of Google Earth KMZ map, which shows all RTMM locations/sceneries released so far. The map is divided into separate coverage areas based on relevant Orbx sceneries to give you a clue which sceneries to download and fly first.

Hope this helps! Enjoy the Misty Moorings!
