Beautiful! Glad you constructed a new, "non-emergency friendly" helipad and moved the old one with the trauma center out of the way.. 8)

Happy New Year RTMMers!   ;)

General Discussion / Re: Tribute Scenery for "Spud"

Spud can also be remembered as one of the RTMM regulars that's quick to respond either in a helpful manner such as offering advise with direct RTMM and/or flightsim troubleshooting tips and/or by injecting his brand of humor to lighten up the atmosphere or situation in the forums, good or bad.. :-\

Just sharing a quick dusk tribute flight from PAYA (Yakutat) to Spud's Beasley Creek Retreat then back..

Farewell Spud..

So sad to finally hear this after about 1-2 years struggling for another lease of life :'( . I recall the times when its handful of tight-knit group of flight instructors and friendly certified pilots with whom I had the privelege of knowing, training and flying with online few years ago when the group was still active..

Hovercontrol was not just the staple of helo simmers and forum afficionados but also the home of well-rounded virtual helo pilots in the flightsim world. They offered the only one-of-a-kind, rigorous Certified Pilot (CP) training and testing program redesigned after the real-world PTS (Practical Test Standards) whom one has to hurdle through written theoritical tests and a practical checkride in order to earn the coveted Certified Pilot title and wings for helicopter simulation.

Hope there will be another site or community that carry the torch or at at least emulate its purpose of serving the interests of the few virtual rotary wing simmers and enthusiasts..some of which happen to be bush pilots too here in RTMM.. :-[ :-\ :'(

The Dodosim 206 has float/pontoon versions too but it's payware ang among the most realistic choppers (flight dynamics-wise, if important for you) in the FSX/P3D genre.. 8)

Touring BWEP execs at the newly updated Owikeno Lake area...for some R&R until one of them got too excited, stripped down and dove from the Blackhawk unto some shallow rocks of the river bank near Wuikinuxv Falls while my copter was hovering about 30-40 ft. AWL resulting to some compound fractures... Had to airlift him to nearby Machmel Village Trauma Center  :-[

Found a TeamSpeak 3 channel entitled "RTMM Voice Comm Server" (with TS3 address: Was this officially created by RTMM and still being used?

To chip in with the MP discussion, I tried using GameSpy before with FSX boxed then FSInn/FScopilot, DAFSIM, FSCloud, FSHost, FSD and lately settled with JoinFS since it's very simple and also currently adopted by popular, very active flightsim communities like Digital Theme Park, Elite Premair Virtual, MSFlights and Eastern Hops that also fly GA aircraft and helos.

JoinFS is the newer cross-platform MP software that's peer-to-peer based and not dependent on a central server and it supports P3D, X-Plane, FSX boxed and FSX-Steam. It is very easy to install, use and update though manually, for now. It is also very lightweight with practically no effect on FPS and in active development and is updated regularly. Why not give it a try and compare? Then chose the better one or adopt both.. ;D :D ;)

Here's the JoinFS official site link for those interested:

For voice comms with text chats, both Teamspeak and/or Discord are popular choices of these communities..
