Bonjour,  ;)

yes, now i waiting for textures clouds  and weather engine  i don't buy Opus .. i seem i can't buy all MTO engine AS REX Opus ..
i stay and waiting for Product REX

i not finalise to install all addons..! today i make a brake  in installation  :P  sceneries, patch, patch, patch ,  ::)
but 120 giga installed  140 giga coming soon also RTMM scenery and AI Ships  ....etc  :D

Have a good good day 15th august

I just patched my 2.2 to 2.3 following the advice in the avsim-forum and all went well and all my addons are still running (incl. all the RTTM-stuff, AI-ships, TrackIR, etc).

2.3 really makes a difference. For me the biggest improvement is about the Performance. I have 30+ fps almost all the time with all the nice options (cloud-shadows, maxed autogen and LOD, AI-traffic, etc.) ticked. Very pleased  :)

I used the update patch from the latest (patched) 2.2 to 2.3 without any issues.

I followed the advice on the AVSIM/Prepar3d-forum and updated FSUIPC beforehand (link is provided in the AVSIM-thread). There was no reinstall necessary and all the addons (including all RTTM-scenery) are working out of the box.

Performance is way better then before: 30+ fps in PFJ around Misty's place or PAKT and still 15+ in Portland (OR) with every scenery setting and most lighting settings (including terrain shadows, cloud shadows annd shadows for buildings!) maxed out; even in overcast conditions. The new ORBX-free-AI also installed. 2.3 rocks!  :D

I am running an "old" i7 2600k @ 3.8 ghz together with a GTX780. So nothing fancy...

I can just recomment to update by using the patch and to follow the advice in the AVSIM-Forum.

Happy landings

P.S. Orbx and a lot of other developers have updated their .dll-files in the meantime!

Thanks Gentlemen!

I will give that a try and Report back if things are still wrong.

Happy landings!

Just one other hint:
- Both Tongass X sceneries must be positioned (in priority) lower than the FTX-Orbx sceneries.

Is that true? I thought it should be the other way around... Anyway: I will give it a try later today.

Thanks all for your Input!

Wow, Dieter, that was fast! Thanks a lot!

I attach my scenery library and I think it is in order. RTTM-stuff (incl. Hollis) at the top, TF (both) below RTTM and Orbx-stuff below Tongass.

Edit: O.k. I see: I should reinstall Tongass. That is a lot to ask for in P3D. :-\
Will see if I do it or live with the trees for the Moment...

Thanks again!

I just enjoyed the flight to Hollis Habor and will continue to discover the area.

There are, however, a lot of trees everywere in the water in that area. Please see the attached picture.

Any ideas what is wrong here?

Thanks for your help!

Sorry, Gentlemen, for not being responsive. Real life took its toll…

Thanks for all your thoughts why the content should be fragmented as it currently is. I see your points and I certainly agree with most of them.

I, however, disagree with the point that the relationship to the beautiful region gets closer if I have to install each one of the cabins and locations separately. I totally agree that this great area must be “explored” rather than conquered. But I doubt that this “involvement” is achieved by forcing the user to install ever part of the RTTM experience in a single step. It rather can be achieved by featuring locations (just like you now do on the Here2There-page – excellent btw!).

How beautiful it would be to follow the featured route (Here2There) to the featured location and not only to see Hollis Harbor at the end but also to have the possibility to fly to the nearby POIs/cabins on the way?

Let me explain the background of my request: For me time is the most important factor: I am a working man with family and have only very limited time for flight simulation. So for me time is of the essence. I can usually start once or twice a week after the kids are in bed (2100) and then have an hour or an hour and a half to “fly”. If I start to browse the Here2There-page (15 min – it is such a nice place to look around that I could easily spend the whole evening…) until I found a nice flight, download and install it (another 5 min), fire up REX, PlanG, TrackIR and P3D2, incl. the change of the starting point and loading the right flight, the first 30 minutes are over.

I agree that it would certainly be reasonable not to have “all-in-one” but only all sceneries for each regions (PFJ/TF/SAK).

And I certainly see that it would be harder to spot sceneries with high impact on frames (but in time were most people no longer have much trouble with this…). I also see the support issue and duplication issues.
So it might be something to consider to make it easier (i) to find “a good flight for tonight” (maybe you could indicate the distance of the flight and the starting airport with each scenery) and (ii) make it easier to install the respective sceneries (I always tent to read the readme text only to find, that it is the standard-readme-text… - It would be helpful to have any unusual and necessary information clearly stated in an individual document).

Thanks for considering!

And keep up your great work!

Addon Scenery and Enhancements / All-in-One Package?
« on: July 23, 2014, 07:48:38 AM »
Dear All,

I still think it would be great to have all the sceneries at hand in P3D without installing 90+ locations separately by hand.

Inspired by the Legacy Collection may I ask if the following would work:

I would download all the RTTM sceneries, unzip them and then copy all the BGL-files from the respective scenery-folder to one “All-BGL”-folder, copy all respective Sound-files into one “All-Sounds”-folder and all respective Effects-files into one “All-Effects”-folder.

In a second step I would copy the Sound-files to the sound-folder of P3D2, the Effects-files into the Effects folder of P3D2 and the All-BGL-folder into the Addon-Scenery folder in P3D2. I would then add the All-BGL-folder as Scenery in the Scenery Library.

AI-traffic files (for boats or floats) would also be copied to their place in P3D.

Would this work? Would also the Season Switcher work?

What about the texture-files that come with some sceneries? Where do they need to go?

Thanks for an answer!

Many happy landings

I can only second Dieter!

The RTTM page has made a huge step forward in the last 6 months: The step to P3D/D10, New Libraries, Here2There, ...

Well done Team, very well done!

Brad, Doug and Jsapair,

you are right and I totally agree that there is really a lot of stuff in the RTTM area to fly to.

But my point is that there is too much to fly to! It is like in the supermarket: You look for some cold cut for dinner and have 200 choices and cannot decide what to take! LoL

The from “Here2There” thread is a big step forward! Thanks for that!

For the beginner, however, it would be (and it is) helpful to have packages to install and be ready to fly 10 to 20 or 30 destinations (maybe along with a Dispatch or story). That makes it easier for the beginners. And not all of us are into installing things in the sim! Especially in FSX it is a pain … It is fairly easy now (thanks for your achievements! And thanks to P3D2) but it still is not my favorite spending of time. I still think it would be great to have the big solution and to be abel to install all the available content for one Orbx-Area in one run. I could install in 15 minutes and go flying. I could look at a nice cabin or Dispatch and just go flying without spending time to install anything. That would be great!

For me for example it is a no-go to read a Dispatch and to be instructed (at the end btw!) that I need to install several cabins/locations. Take Dispatch no 1 as an example: I read through it and at the end I am told to go to another page (scenery-page) and to find (not linked!) and install 8 (not 7 as the numbers say – there are two “no. 5”) sceneries. Thanks, but no thanks! (BTW: After readings Dispatch 1 I didn’t go one with 2…).

At the Dispatches it would be great to have one (third) column with the “What you will need” content. And in that column should be one link to one package with all the relevant scenery/locations (at least as an alternative to the individual sceneries) so it can be downloaded and installed in one run.

That is already the case in the later Dispatches, like 18 and 17.

BTW: I think that all the scenery for Dispatch no 1 are in the Legacy Package, right? If so, why not linking the package as such (answer: because experienced user may have some of that content already, o.k.) or at least showing that this is the case.

Sorry for the long post!

Looks good so far, Brad!

And I also like the repaint of your 185! Where is that from?

Congratulation, RTTM-Team! Well deserved!

I am sure that you could increase traffic further if you would make more "Advertisement" by using the RTTM signatures in other forums (such as Orbx and AVSIM - there is a dedicated bush fylying community at AVSIM).

Although I am around since some time, for me the new libraries are a milestone and together with the Legacy Collection there is a good starting point for beginners. I am always overwhelmed by the number of scenery and Enhancements. I sometimes browse the scenery page until my spare time to fly (often only an hour or so) is over...

Things would become even easier if you could pack some more cabins and locations in "scenery-packages" (like you already have some that contain a dozent (or so) cabins and locations in one area). My suggestion would still be to have packages that include all the locations for on ORBX-area (incl. Tongass): All cabins and locations, the flightplans for those cabins, the .cvs-files for PlanG and the AI-shipping. One could then install all of this in one "installation run" and go flying after ten minutes.

Help and Troubleshooting / Re: I don't see water in PlanG
« on: July 17, 2014, 10:13:44 AM »
I am embarrased to inform you about the following:

I fiddled around with this quite some time and was about to go mad!  :o
Everything else looked good in the second screen but the map was looking pale and the water was even more pale so that I could not see it. Unfortunatelly nothing helped me. The other types of maps either are not available for the PF-Area or are pale as well.

Finally I noticed the buttons for the monitor settings (on the frame of the monitor) and I started to play with them (I swear every other application looked good on that monitor) and: Voilá! I changed one setting and now it looks good! Now I can see the water and see the montains.

Stupid me!

Thanks, all!

Happy landings,
