I grew up with Hires and A&W root beer but they changed over the years.  Theu got weaker and I'm guessing it was when they removed the caffeine (if they actually had any to start with - not something you pay attention to as a kid!).  Barq's still adds it and the drink has far more bite to it.  Couldn't tell you when I last had any root beer, though.  It's usually ginger ale now.

It's a much needed aircraft but the guys over at Bushpounder's aren't biting.  They have some legitimate reservations based on what's been seen so far.

I believe there was an upgraded aircraft.cfg file for the C185 that greatly improved its handling but I'll be darned if I can remember where I stashed it! Anybody know the file I mean?

As for prosperous, not sure about that. There's still a day or two of online gaming sales left in which to ponder!

Merry Christmas and Joyeux Noël, ladies and gents!

At least I have heat! Last Christmas I was without power for 3 days after a nasty ice storm.  It came back on about 6 AM Christmas Day.  This year, there's not a sign of snow anywhere on my lawn.

Well, for one, the Nemeth Designs Sikorsky CH-54/S-64E has both hoist and water-drop capabilities.  She'll never win any beauty contests, though.

Addon Scenery and Enhancements / Re: A2A Cessna 182 Released

Before everyone gets any more confoozled, here's the basic pricing parameters for the C172/C180/C182 direct from A2A.

FSX or P3D Academic -  all listed at $49.99

FSX and P3D Academic - all listed at $69.99

I don't have too much of an argument with charging a bit more for basically a 2-plane bundle, considering they did have to rework the coding to make use of the new P3D functionality.  I don't, however, see the reasoning behind charging an extra $30 for the P3D versions ($79.99) simply because your 'license' let's you call yourself a 'Professional'.  The Professional bundle ($99.99) adds another $30 on top of the $20 you pay for the 2 versions and  $199.99 for the single P3D Commercial license is simply outrageous.

At least you don't have to pay for a separate Accu-Sim addon like in their earlier releases.

I wonder how many 'licences' were actually sold to people who weren't simply taking advantage of the upgraded P3D engine just to improve their flight experience over the ageing FSX product.

Forget the GPS location. Check out the registration number on the panel and the fuselage.

The fact both videos use Enya for background music also hints at a connection.

Gorgeous country, isn't it?

Doesn't get much weirder than this collection of letters with 3 different pronunciations - He was very thorough as he pushed his way slowly through the rough.

Guten Tag, Klaus.  Nice work.

Got a heli question for you.  I just watched an interesting German documentary on the Air Zermatt helicopter rescue service and, throughout, the narration referred to the aircraft as a Helikopter and not a Hubschrauber.  When did that happen?

My German is good enough that I was able to follow a large chunk of the narration but I lost it when the crew were speaking.  I'm guessing they were using a German Swiss dialect but, weirdly, the inflection often sounded Scandinavian!

If anybody's interested, here's the link.  Thanks to the inmates at Bushpounders for the original notice.
