Misty Flying Club and Multi Player / CigarBox is working.......
« on: September 26, 2019, 12:03:01 PM »
As most of you know, CigarBox stopped reporting Pireps and began locking up about the 18th of September.  I was reported that other Virtual Airlines were having the same problem using the same program (kaCARSII). After a lot of hours working on the problem it didn't appear to be anything on our end.  While it is hard to ascertain the exact problem, it appears to come from Microsoft and more specifically Windows 10  So, for now we seem to be back to business as usual.

We thank you for both your feedback and your patience.

Misty Flying Club and Multi Player / Marked "Retired"
« on: July 22, 2018, 01:49:00 PM »
Just a heads up.  For most of you, in fact we hope all of you will never experience this, but the system is programmed to automatically "retire" you if you haven't submitted a Pirep for 90 days.  If you are unable to fly due to life or a computer issue, just drop us a note and we will fix it.  If you are simply not flying at the moment, just file a pirep and everything will be back to Normal.

The program requires a time to be set and I can make it shorter not longer.  Not a big deal but now you know.

Two changes to the MFC web site....when you look at the tour details you will find a table of all the pilots flying the tour and their progress.  Each of the tour legs are listed so you will be able to see not only your progress, but the progress of fellow club members.  Also, you will find some additional entries in the Top Pilot category.  As before, if you notice any problems, please let us know.

Misty Flying Club and Multi Player / Top Pilots
« on: April 27, 2018, 04:57:24 PM »
I finally had a bit of time to look at the issues with the Top Pilot and now have several more parts working. There are still several issues, but making progress.  In the past, Top Pilot has had more than a few problems, the most important being that it failed to add monthly hours correctly.  So, If you have time, please take a look at your April hours to make sure they are correct.  In the meantime, I will try and see why March isn't showing up.

Other than a few updates and tweaking, Misty Moorings Flying Club is fully functional!  If you haven't joined, please give it a try.

« on: April 10, 2018, 08:48:14 PM »
Well today marks our first month of actual operations....operations where flight time has not been wiped out by reloading and re doing!  And have we had a month to remember.  We are approaching 1000 schedules in the database, have flown almost 650 flights and more than 330 hours.  Right now Doug has flown the most but of our 30 registered pilots, 26 have logged hours...Great Job.

With this milestone I think we can say that most of the issues found have been laid to rest and we are running at full speed ahead.  The Beta phase of Misty Flying Club is really behind us.

And with that said, I hope that those who haven't joined will give it a try.  Norm and I are here to help you over any rough spots to ensure that your time at the club will be rewarding and well spent.  We look forward to seeing YOUR registration in the near future.

Misty Flying Club and Multi Player / Cigar Box V4
« on: April 05, 2018, 05:30:05 PM »
A couple of things of interest.

You will find a new download tab on your main page (after you log in) and there you will find a new version of our CigarBox.  Please note that we are experimenting with download managers.  You might find the one located within your pilot profile nice, while others might like the tabbed version of a slightly different manager.  Please let us know which one you like!

Now a few words about upgrading Cigar Box.  I recommend that you delete the old version before adding the new one.  Go to Control Panel and select delete program, then find the old version and uninstall it. Probably throw in a restart and then install the new one.

This new version doesn't address the issue of having to restart Cigar Box after every flight if you want to load another leg.  That problem is being fixed, but it is our of our control....coming soon.....

The V4 Cigar Box just fixes a couple of things, and we have a few more to tackle in the near future.

Problems, just ask here.

Misty Flying Club and Multi Player / MFC Forum
« on: April 03, 2018, 06:48:23 PM »
For those visiting the Misty Flying Club, you now have a direct link to this forum from the "Forum" box at the top of the page.  This gives us the best of two worlds....MFC has a forum without having a separate forum.

So far so good and I think we are nearing the end of the Beta.  We have one small operational problem with the core program of kaCARSII which is out of our control, but being fixed.  There are a couple of additional items we want to implement but that is an on going part of improvement.

If you are not yet a member....please consider joining us at:

The flying club is less than a month old and today we exceeded 200 hours by club members.  We have made more than 400 flights and have 29 members and counting!  Great Job to all.

This is a good time to also say that we think we have all of the known operational problems solved.  Cigar Box is working well, the tours are all working as expected and we now have more 550 schedules in the system.

And what a good time to say "Thank You" to everyone who has joined and suffered through the growing pains. I don't thinks we are completely error free, but well on the way.....more documentation is needed, and on the way, and additional links to RTMM are in the works.

So, If you are reading this and haven't  given all of this a try...head over to and give it a try!

Misty Flying Club and Multi Player / Way to go Doug
« on: March 23, 2018, 06:56:51 PM »
We have our first milestone pilot at Misty Flying Club!  Doug is the first to receive the 30 hour award and I expect to see him heading for the next one.  Several other brave public beta testers are almost there and in less than a month we are racking up some impressive numbers!

Join in anytime you like, we are here to help you get started and we promise to fix the stuff that is giving you problems.  See ya at Misty's Place

Well as Doug said, we are still very much in Beta, but now a public Beta!  We are fully functions with our own version of kaCARSII that not only looks good, but functions very well.  It's easy to install and easy to use.

This is the place to ask questions, get help and explore.  Norm and I will check the page several times a day, so you shouldn't have to wait long for an answer.  When flying at the flying club, you can expect pirep approval within a few hours.

Please be patient, the web site changes daily, sometimes at a bad time, but that's progress...and sometimes we go backwards...then hopefully then forwards.  Right now there is lots to fly, tours are created and you fly them in order with ample time to finish them forever right now.  New awards are in the works, but we are not like any "VA" you have ever seen.  Rules are almost non existent ...there is no restriction of number of flights or any of that...come and go as you please.  You do have to have the RTMM scenery and you will fly the RTMM aircraft and it is possible we may add to the hanger, but no promises.

Group flights are fun and most real world flying clubs get together and fly together for almost any reason you can think of...we will try and do the same.

Give it a try, we think you will like what you see!

General Discussion / FS Global 2018

I see that Pilot's has updated a lot of their software to work with P3Dv4.  Does anyone know if FS Global 2018 mesh works with the pipeline?  FS Global 2010 was the standard but Ultimate did not.

I just finished flying the two lighthouse  tours at Alaska Adventures.....what a great Job.  The tour was fun and the lighthouses were nice to find and great to look at.  There is no doubt each and everyone at RTMM has done a great service to sim flying.

We are proud to be associated with such great talent.  Keep up the good work...and yes, Thank You!

VP and General Manager

A new round of Adventures is getting rolled out at Alaska Adventures and we hope you will come over for a look see.

You can expect a continuing commitment to the scenery of RTMM, be on the watch for a Cabins Tour/Adventure this Spring....we have to wait for the thaw!

A winter vacation is in the works, a get a way from the cold weather....this will be an ORBX scenery tour using NA Regions....So. Cal may be in the works for this one.

Good activity with the CIRP offering, if you aren't flying it, you should be.

As always, we continue to support the Bush way of flying.  Our Cub Tour has been the BIG hit this Fall and Winter...still plenty of time to participate.

Just a note to wish everyone a Happy New Year from all your Friends at Alaska Adventures.

It's been a busy year with lots of unfinished things still in the pipeline and many new things ready to be rolled out.  Our numbers continue to grow and we are very happy to have a number of RTMM members flying with us now, and we hope even more in the future.

Look for some new Adventures coming in January....maybe a little R&R to give us a break from the harsh Alaska winter.

We welcome each of you to fly with us and If you have questions or suggestions, please join our forums and tell us.

And of course we can discuss whatever right here.

Again, Happy New Year!
