Hello! I hope you are all doing well!

The other day I decided to upgrade to windows 10. As I expected, FSX is not doing well. I have a weird issue. The games starts fine. However, when I try to launch the sim, I just get a black screen. The loading box you would normally see is missing. Then the game crashes.

Anyone else have this issue? Anyone have the fix? Ugh... I'm hoping I don't have to roll back.

Hi Guys! Been a long time. Missed you all. Been up to my neck with my new album release. I also made some huge adds to my already ridiculous computer. But this has caused an issue.

I got a second videocard and now cannot go into full screen. I thought the problem was that FSX was not liking one monitor on one video card and the other on the second video card. So I moved both monitors to the same video card. That did not help.

Here is the weird thing. In DX9 full screen works. In DX10 it does not. It use to work fine in DX10 before.

The only thing I can think of is that maybe there was something I added to my FSX.cfg a long time ago, and that got erased when I had FSX generate me a new FSX.cfg. If this is the case could someone share with me the code I need to put in my.cfg?

Other than my monitors freaking out and flashing on and off when I try to go full screen, everything else works perfect. Except the dang tears in the graphics that I would not have if I could get into full screen.

Any suggestions would help.

My upgrades to my computer are that I now have 32 GB of RAM and two video cards. Both 3 GB each.

Hi Guys!

Steves new DX10 Scenery Fixer version 1.4 is now available for download!

You get it from your downloads page at the FlightSim Store. http://www.flightsimstore.com/

This one includes "Adjusted Shadow Fade".

Previously shadows faded rather sharply with the weather visibility. This is compounded because some weather engines rarely set the visibility over 10nm. The change alters this so that shadow fading only starts as the visibility falls under 3nm.

Also included.... It is now possible to save and restore all the settings made to shaders. As well as assisting in the upgrade process, this allows using different profiles for legacy aircraft for example.

Also more fog light fixes. The fogging of FTX Global lights has been extended to cover all effect style lights

Enjoy!

I spent the evening yesterday creating this video for all of you here. This is my first FSX video I have ever created, so a little rough around the edges. But I hope you all enjoy nonetheless! I will make more in the future if you all enjoy this one.

« on: January 03, 2014, 03:09:14 AM »
So I started with the missions you all have made! Wow! Such fun!

But along the route I came across another scenery where I seem to be missing the dock.

This time I made sure to have the coordinates on the picture. Hope you all can help me locate the Objects Folder I am missing/having an issue with. Thanks again.. and sorry for all the help questions lately. Been having a time over here.  :-\

I know i messed up somewhere.  ???

Thanks Guys!

Hi guys,

I was going nuts yesterday trying to figure out why my vegetation and textures were appearing as square boxes at all the airports. Spent hours trying to find the fix.

Turns out that ORBX released a bum Llibrary update package.

Here is the link to the fix page at the Orbx forums: http://www.orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/70213-pnw-anomoly-since-patch/#entry646077

Happy New Year!

Here is what the issue looks like:

Hi guys,

So I got one more FSX present for X-mas. It is Natural Tree Environment X - by Zinertech.

It is a fairly new product that is out there, so I figured I would give you all the skinny on this add-on.

My first impression was that it is a very subtle change. I barely noticed the difference at first. But once you start flying around you will start to realize big changes. Especially when flying slow and low. Also the look around the airports that have a lot of tree coverage will really come to life. You will see that the trees and bushes look a lot more realistic and that the correct trees for the geography are now placed. So you will see palm trees where there should be palm trees. But more than that, you will notice the species is correct for pines and oaks.

The impact to the sim frame rate is almost non existent and the package includes lower rezz textures if you find a issue with Frame rates. But I found none. (but keep in mind that I do have a 3GB AMD video card, so this may vary from person to person)

Do keep in mind that I use Scenery Tech products combined with Ultimate Terrain to have the most realistic placement of vegetation. So these products are also helping place the correct vegetation. So it could be more or less dramatic if used with or without these other add-on's.

Cons- I really could not find any. Except for the fact that when I looked this product up, it seemed a little overpriced for what it does. I might change my mind about that later when I fly around the world more, as lately I have been keeping to Alaska and Los Angeles for the most part, mostly because of Misty's great add-on's!

This is compatible with FTX Global. Simply open 'FTX Central' and in the options uncheck the option that says  "Use Orbx Trees" then click 'Apply'.  Once this option is disabled, you will see the trees included in this product blend with FTXGlobal.

Here is some great pictures showing how this product looks when combined with FTX Global: http://www.zinertek.com/treesandftxglobal.html

I do not use FTX Global as I use the GEX textures for my areas outside my ORBX areas. So not an issue for me. But from what I have read, It would seem a lot of you do use it and really enjoy it, so I posted the info just incase you get this product.

If anyone else already has or picks up this add on, I would love to hear your input!

The item is available at: http://www.fspilotshop.com/zinertek-natural-tree-environment-p-4763.html

Here is info from the maker: http://www.zinertek.com/flightsimulator/treeenvironmentx.html

Have a safe and Happy New Year!

General Discussion / Flight Environment X for X-mas!
« on: December 28, 2013, 03:21:21 PM »
Hello everyone! Hope you all had a great Holiday.

I got FEX for Christmas. I am really blown away. Not only does it look amazing! But the pull on the sim and frame rates is zero. This is the main reason I asked for it over REX and I am not disappointed.

I already have a weather engine so this was the best choice for me. Yes, I have seen REX on a friends system and it is amazing too. But the amount of load it puts on the sim was just not going to work for me, as I like to film FSX on occasion and frames are important and valuable in that scenario. So I crossed my fingers and went with FEX. I was not let down! I am working on a video for Misty Moorings. I will share it soon!

I was wondering if anyone else here uses it and had any scenes they wanted to share via the FEX Menu? Would love to see the themes any of you may have made.

Hello,

So I just got SAK for a early X-mas gift and decided to fly out of PAEN. But found I couldn't because a Green A.I. Float plane decided to land on a concrete runway at PAEN Runway 19R.

Wondering if this issue has happened to anyone else and is there a fix for it?
