Misty's Caribbean Air Adventures (MCA) Version 2

Updated Dropbox File Links (6/9/2020)

NOTE: Previous Installation:
If you've previously installed the Gregory Goodwin Bahamas and Misty's Caribbean Air Adventures collection, the base scenery by Gregory has been updated as well as the Bahamas scenery for Misty's Caribbean Air. You'll need to download at least those two files below to be updated to version 2 for this project. (Step #1 and Step #2) Just download, unzip, then overwrite your previous files with the updated files.

You will NOT need to download the custom objects for the Bahamas or the custom objects for Return to Misty Moorings IF you've already installed them inside your simulator. (Step #3 and Step #4) Same goes for the optional files (Step #5 and Step #6)

NOTE: New Installation:

Follow Required Steps #1-#4 (* See Step #4 installation note below)

The files located at the dropbox links below are created for the Misty's Caribbean Air Adventures collection of scenery and enhancements. They are meant to be used with an amazing base scenery of the Bahamas by Gregory Goodwin. Gregory has created a highly accurate representation of this area of the Bahamas with custom waterclass, landclass and vector data. It covers the following island areas of the Bahamas. Andros, Bimini, Nassau, Grand Bahama, The Abacos, The Berry Islands, Eleuthera, Cat Island, The Exumas and Ragged Islands as well as the Turks and Caicos Islands.

It's a large area of the Caribbean Sea that focuses on the Northern, Western and some of the Eastern and Southern Bahamas islands. He's planning on completing the rest of the Bahamas in a future release that will cover all of the remaining east and southern chains.

Step #1. Install the base Bahamas scenery by Gregory Goodwin.
You can find his base file named by going to this dropbox link:

Or by searching on AVSIM's file library: Search using "Gregory Goodwin", "Northern Bahamas" or ""

Start with that file, install it in your simulator and activate in your library as normal for any addon scenery. Follow all of his included instructions for proper installation please.

To view the enhancements for the Misty's Caribbean Air Adventures, Please install the following required files:

Step #2. MCA North Bahamas Scenery files by Brad Allen (Version 2)

Step #3. MCA Custom Object Files by Steve Weinkamer.
Install the contents of each of the three zipfiles below containing custom Bahamas objects used in this project.

FSXP3D Misty's Caribbean_SW

FSXP3D Misty's Caribbean_SW vol 2

FSXP3D MoCat's Caribbean Seaplanes Tours Object Library

Step #4. *Install the four main Return to Misty Moorings Object Libraries found here:

(* This step can be skipped if you have already downloaded and installed the four main libraries for Return to Misty Moorings.)

Scroll down to the Object Library Table area and the download links are located below. You'll need to download and install four custom object library zipfiles. Part I, Part II, Part III and Part IV. Unzip one at a time and carefully follow the instructions for that specific libraries installation. When completed, you must then activate each of the four libraries inside your simulators scenery library.

Step #5. Install the Snow Dog Tours Object Libraries.

Step #. Optional enhancements by Dexter Thomas and Brad Allen.
Dex has created AI Floatplane and Fishing Boats Traffic, sounds. Brad created custom scenery for the floatplane bases these AI objects visit.
NOTE: You'll need an installation of Tongass Fjords X to see the AI floatplanes and fishing vessels in action. If not, you can still install the scenery inside this zip for the floatplane bases.

AI Seaplane and Fishing Vessels Traffic, Sounds and Effects by Dexter Thomas. AI Seaplane Bases Scenery by Brad Allen.

Step #6. Optional MCA Custom Aircraft Repaint files by Klaus Troeppner. Klaus created some great looking paint schemes in Misty's Caribbean Air Adventures colors. There's a default Maule M7 repaint as well as three payware models that will show these repaints in the simulator. You must own those payware models to see the custom paint schemes.

Misty's Caribbean Air Project Update!!

Steve Weinkamer has done it again!! He's used his magic wand and given us some beautiful custom objects to work with in the Caribbean. First of all, big thank you to Steve for all his time and energy in converting and making these objects usable in the simulations. And also to Chris "MoCat" Carel who kindly gave us permission to use his previously created objects for the "MoCat's Seaplane Tours" scenery done way back in FS2004. Steve had to convert each of the objects in those old FS9 libraries to make them compliant in P3D v4.

We have a custom logo for the project now that you'll see on a sign attached to the side of one of the buildings. It's a great looking logo I think. Steve asked me to look into some free sketch-up objects that might be usable as well for the tropical atmosphere I'm hoping to depict with these scenery areas on Misty's Caribbean Air. I found a lot of great looking tropical vegetation that you'll see in some of the following screen shots. They sure look good to me. Banana tree, bamboo, Heleconia, Caladium, Bird of Paradise, and lot's of unique palm trees that help give a unique look to the scenery I'm building.

I also want to share some pictures of Dex Thomas's upcoming AI Traffic for the Misty's Caribbean Air project. I'm still working on some of that scenery though so it's not quite ready for prime time. But you'll see that in the not to distant future. Dex and I have been working for a few weeks now and have over a dozen seaplane airports created for the project. The traffic is great looking so far.

Greg Goodwin is busy working on the rest of the Bahamas Islands scenery and that will expand the area of discovery when it's done.

Finally, Klaus is in with us on doing some aircraft repaints and once we get some pics from the paint meister, we'll be sure to share them here.

So enjoy the pictures and thanks for your interest in Misty's Caribbean Air Adventures!!

Happy New Year 2020!! Since being inspired by Doug's excellent "Hawaii" getaway adventure scenery, I wanted to escape from the great white north so much that I spent time flying there a lot recently. I love all of the little touches that Doug's done on the Hawaiian Island chain. So much so that it made me want to find a spot I could also help bring some of the beauty of the islands to life.

But Doug pretty much covered those fantastic islands so i needed to look elsewhere. Well it took me awhile but I found the place I want to take a break at. The Bahamas.

Gregory Goodwin has given the freeware world an unbelievable scenery package. You can search for and find it on AVSIM and Just Look for "Bahama's P3D" or "Gregory Goodwin Bahamas". It's free and works with FSX or P3D v4 just fine. You'll see what I mean. It's fantastic. See for yourself with a few pictures I took on a flight around the Exuma Chain.

Note that Greg did all of the Vector, Landclass and Waterclass creation. Object placement, shoreline enhancements, etc. everything. Just stellar work from one developer and it's all free. Also, included in this archive package is 24 custom object enhanced airports that were created by Art Poole. His objects really look fantastic and are based on real world airport buildings and designs. Great looking all around.

Now where does RTMM come into this equation? Well I reached out to Greg and we talked. He is interested in letting others help develop on top of his Bahamas package so, I'm recruiting some of the team here at RTMM to hopefully join in on my idea for a new project that will allow users to visit some warm locations in the islands when they might want to also get away from Alaska and the Pacific Northwest. It is a nice way to experience some of our enhancements along the way by stopping in new locations like Hawaii which has been at RTMM for us before and now the Caribbean is open for business too!!!

I'm going to enjoy this and hope that it's not one last project for the RTMM team. I don't believe that the upcoming FS2020 will take all sim enthusiast's away. There could be challenges that are at this point unforeseen but entirely possible. So, I'm not throwing in the towel on RTMM just yet. My creative juices are flowing so, I needed to get away and get busy again. Life's too short and then,.... well.. you know. Get busy living or get busy dying.

Right now, Dex Thomas and I are currently just beginning to develop some ideas for AI Float plane traffic that can help give the islands and shorelines some active ops. Also going to add some AI land based traffic too. We're going to also work on some scenery locations that will have sound files embedded around so you can pull up, shut down and get a little sense of the islands. (Can you hear the Steel drums anybody? No not yet? Well give us some time and you will)

I'm looking into some ideas for creating some custom repaints that could be done by our excellent aircraft paint meister, Mr. Klaus Troeppner. Maybe have some flyable models with a cool tropical "Misty" livery. Like Klaus did for us on the Blue Wave Energy Partners aircraft, this would be very nice to have to sell the theme of the project.

It sure would be great to have Norm and the MFC club pilots island hopping in the Caribbean someday soon. The potential for flight plans down here are endless. Maybe a flight to TNCM and Princess Juliana airport? Sure. Why not? It's out there. We don't have to always fly in the cold, rainy, climates I say.

I've asked Doug to consider doing some small areas like he did in Hawaii if he has the time and energy after organizing the website which is his first priority, but when he want's to do some island hopping and finds a nice cove to work his magic, that would be nice to see again.

Maybe Rod might like to work in some scenery that's looking for something with his excellent eye for details like Chugach, or Hollis Harbor or Ketchikan Harbor.

How about if Steve came up with some island style objects and signs? His work has been a must have for me in locations I want to enhance. So, If he's not to busy that is. (He's always busy that guy)

Doc Thomas Menzel put together one of the coolest packages recently when he took on the entire island of Kodiak and created a lot of fine looking spots to land at on the island. Hey Doc! How'd you like to take on the Pirates of the Caribbean?

I can see Robert coming up with island scenery videos that would be beautiful to check out for sure. Jeff and Dieter helping along the way with waypoints, testing, collaboration.

And I'm open for more ideas and so is Greg who's given us the green light to put something together that can help make this scenery stand out even more. I know we can easily make that happen. And for me, it's something to look forward to because over the last nine plus years, my hobby has been working with this team at RTMM and they've been happy to play along with some of my crazy ideas. (CIRP, Halibut Cove, BWEP to name a few)

That's been my proudest accomplishment. Helping build this team into the group it is. I missed interacting with each of you the last four 1/2 years really since I was busy with work and laying pipe on BWEP. I did feel kind of on my own with that project. Yes there was a lot of creative ideas that we did early in the BWEP Project but for the last few years, it was really me, alone with pipe after pipe to line-up. Nope, I'm done. Over that. I need some salt, sand and seaside Pina' Colada's ASAP!!!

So, get ready for something different and something new. Misty's Caribbean Adventures "The Bahamas" is coming.

The last area of the Blue Wave Energy Partners project is now ready for release. The North Slope begins an over 800 mile journey from Prudhoe Bay to the terminus at Valdez for the BWEP Pipeline. Here's some images from the North Slope.

Addon Scenery and Enhancements / BWEP: Gates of the Arctic RELEASED!!
« on: December 04, 2019, 10:46:09 PM »
On the BWEP Page now, you can get the latest edition of Blue Wave Energy Partners Pipeline. Gate's of the Arctic. This journey will take you through some of the most breathtaking terrain but also some of the most beautiful scenery north of the Arctic Circle.

It follows the BWEP Pipeline through the mountains and even crosses over the dangerous Atigun Pass. Helicopter and fixed wing pilots will be challenged up here.

It's taken quite some time to get this edition of BWEP ready for prime time. I think the payoff is worth all the work it takes.

Hope you like it and please post some screenshots if you get the chance too. Here's a few I took:

I've flown into this RTMM location on many occasions but never noticed this nice little touch at Wood Lake Research Station by Jay Langham and updated for FSX/P3D by Mike Broemme before.

I hid a rabid raccoon at several locations (Bronson Creek and Driftwood Depot) that I wonder if people ever noticed but come on, tennis shoes hanging on a power line? That's pretty unique in the sim.

Great stuff Guys!
