Misty Flying Club and Multi Player / cigar box jumping legs again
« on: May 21, 2020, 07:14:02 PM »
Norm or Henry Once again the cigar box is giving me credit for legs I haven't flown yet. This time on MFC0041 I finished leg 5 at 00C  Animas Air Park, so I click on stop flight and then on file pirep and let it cook until the window comes up operation timed out. I then close out the cigar box and open the tour center page and somehow it shows I had also completed leg 6 ending at 07V Cuchara Valley Apt At La Veta.   Oh and on my pilots page under view my pireps it shows two entries for leg 5 from kpso to 00c   I don't know if it helps to tell you when something like this happens. Or if I should even bother you with it. At any rate I flew leg 6 w'o making any entries  I won't be flying any father tonite as it is dinner time

OK thought I was doing what you said, going all the way back to MFC0036 leg 19 flight number MFC58191, I pulled as much info as I could  from my pirep MFCT00467-6A2 fir the flite from 2wa1 to KCLM, but am getting a error flight code and number you entered is not a valid route. So what should I be putting in the flight number box for manually filing a pirep

Misty Flying Club and Multi Player / cigar box giving an error
« on: April 27, 2020, 07:04:11 PM »
The cigar box is still giving me fits. When I finish a leg, it gives me a connection time out window, but yet when I go to look on the tour center page it shows I can sign up for the next leg. Which I do, but the cigar box  keeps putting me on the leg I just finished,  and I have to completely shut down the cigar box and reopen to get it to accept the new leg. That until now, now I am on the last leg of MFC0036 from 2wa1 to KCLM and no matter what I try, it instead of it showing schedule found, it just keeps saying try again, over n' over . One other quick question before i close, is the cigar box somehow tied into the FSUIPC

Misty Flying Club and Multi Player / stuck at Darrington
« on: April 23, 2020, 01:09:38 PM »
I'm sitting here at Darrington 1S2 and not sure what to do. I'm on MFC0036 just finished leg 12. When I go on my pirep list page it shows two entries for leg 12 which is 4WA8/1S2 showing pending approval. When i go to the Tour Center to pick up the next leg it shows I've completed leg 13 for 1S2/76WA, which I have not actually flown yet. I think it's something to do with  the Cigar Box, I have tried removing and reinstalling, to no avail. All day yesterday was giving me a time out window, but when I would look  on the Tour Center page it would show that I could sign for the next leg. I thought there was a work around  but I can't find it now on the forum page. So I sit here awaiting vectors

Help and Troubleshooting / Bahama scenery
« on: April 07, 2020, 06:35:55 PM »
So I loading up all the folders for the Misty's Bahamas and going to different airports  and get down to MYAO Mores Island and the sim CTD. I then spent the rest of the afternoon looking for the culprit. In the Misty's Seaplane folder there is a file BHM& ADEP 4 DWT file for Mores Island and when I removed it everything worked fine, put it back in and CTD. There are lot of these files for different locations. What do they do or what are they in there for. Thanks in advance, Jim

Help and Troubleshooting / Dilemma
« on: February 12, 2020, 02:44:13 PM »
I am running Windows 7 OS and FSX with the Acceleration pack. Was having some issues loading up and once it did was having freeze frame problems. So like I have done in the past deleted the Acceleration pack and ran the repair on the FSX disk. Went to reinstall the Acceleration pack but it won't take the activation code. I've called three different 800 numbers for Microsoft finding out there is no longer support for the flightsim and heard more ''we're sorries'' than I can count. Looked around at all the forums as to what to do, to no avail. So I'm wondering if anyone here has any workarounds, patch or a virus free crack. Barring that what are the compatibility with third party aircraft and sceneries with FSX SE. As far as going with Prepar3d  would the academic version be sufficient really don't have the funds for the professional one One other question if I may, I understand with the Prepar3d sim V4 won't run a lot of older 3rd party aircraft and where as  v3 will. Thanks in advance for all replies

General Discussion / Carribean Sea Planes???
« on: January 28, 2020, 01:41:31 PM »
What with the talk of the scenery pkg of Greg Goodwin's and future plans to enhance the Bahamas, it piqued my interest. I haven't flown in the Caribbean or Bahamas for years, back when CSP was about the only choice one had for enhancements, and this was way before Orbx and their Vector pkg's. So anyway I downloaded the Goodwin files and started to fly around, much to my dismay a lot of the CSP scenery had hangers in the water and docks sitting on land. First I thought it was the Goodwin file, but when I disallowed it and went back for a look the problem still persisted. I think the culprit with messing up with the CSP sceneries is the Vector files. Not all the CSP additions are effected, but maybe 6 to 12 I've found so far  Too bad MoCat's additions will be missed

Misty Flying Club and Multi Player / another cigar box question
« on: December 26, 2019, 02:27:41 PM »
Not sure if this has happen in the past, beause I never paid attention to it. So on MFC0033 when I signed up I chose the DHC2 but in the Cigar Box it comes up as my aricraft of choice as the Bell 205, which I don't have. So am I obligated to fly one of the other heli's I do have or can I fly the DHC2. The Cigar Box seems like it throws me a lot of curves

Misty Flying Club and Multi Player / cigar box giving an error
« on: November 16, 2019, 04:05:51 PM »
To whom it may concern Norm or Henry or ??? Was flying MFC0030 completed leg 3 landed at PACV and submitted the leg with the cigar box, went to tour center it  says I completed leg 4 from PACV to NRTN which I haven't When I go to the pilots page it says my last pirep was for leg 3. So I'm looking for suggestions as to what to do next, seems in my vague memory there is away to just record a leg with the cigar box, but can't remember how, So  I guess I'm looking for vectors as to how to proceed

Misty Flying Club and Multi Player / sunken airfields
« on: October 29, 2019, 02:07:16 PM »
Has anyone else who has finished MFC0029 had vector problems with sunken airfields. You get to the destination and the airfield is down in a hole. This has happened to me at dozen or more. I've run the auto config  program in Vector  but doesn't seem to correct the problem, if I do it manually then it works and the elv is correct no sunken airfield. Not sure if it's a landclass  and Vector not talking to each other or what. Sure messes up the landing ratings

Been an interesting 48 hours, was at the hanger Wed when the whole building started spinning, someone caught me before I hit the floor. I never lost consciousness, but every time  I would try to sit up, got real nauseous. They called the ambulance and off to St Luke hospital I went. Had a CT scan and a MRI and a whole host of tests for stroke, heart attack. So after 5 to 6 hours ruling out everything else, they came to the conclusion, that I was having a case of Vertigo. I don't know if anyone has had it, but it was about the scariest thing I have been thru. Been on the phone with the FSDO here in Boise and it sounds like I won't be flying charters for a year and not even sure after that. They warned me not to fly w/o a copilot, or I could be revoked all together, which goes w/o saying I wouldn't even try it after last Wed. Anyway just curious if anyone here has had Vertigo and what was your outcome
