General Discussion / Looking for a specific MM scenery...
« on: December 20, 2018, 08:31:19 PM »
I know I have it but I can't remember what it was.

I remember it was a land airstrip and on it were a bunch of construction vehicles, lots of stuff going on.

Anyone know by chance which one that could be?

Prepar3D-Version 4 / P3d is changing my MM scenery entry
« on: December 20, 2018, 06:50:35 PM »
In order for me to see the scenery I have to move MM scenery to the top of the list, lower number

then it works fine. but then when I restart it again later it moves it down under all of the orbx stuff like a high number maybe 155 etc. then I have to move it all the way up again.

How do I keep it up?

I'm leaning towards Milviz Turbo Otter

is this good for short lake ops or should I be looking elsewhere?

Thanks.

I got everything installed, all the libs, the tester worked good and I got Misty Moorings in  PF20 I also installed the missing cabins.

I'm running P3d v4.3

the amount of scenery is overwhelming are there any recommendations to begin with?

like the "super cool" sceneries, etc.  I don't do that much float flying but I see I'll need to. I'm thinking of getting the Milviz Turbo Otter. I have Carenado Cessna T210M, T206H, 207, 185 (showing its age, now) and a ton other of his stuff, but needing a better amphibian.

General Discussion / Can you service Cabins in the winter?
« on: November 27, 2017, 08:37:35 PM »
I'm starting a VA that uses your missing cabins and other scenery.

I'm striving to create a realistic experience.

Any locals in Alaska, do you know if charter companies would fly passengers out to the local cabins during winter? Or do the cabins pretty much shut down during winter? Hard to imagine tourists that would come out and want to rent a cabin in the winter, but I'm sure it's been done sometime.

Can anyone weigh in on this?

Also, what type of charter flights are there in the Winter, especially in the Juneau area? Or does it all come to a grinding halt?
Thanks.

Prepar3D-Version 4 / Tongass Fjords X crashes FTXCentral 3.2.3.0
« on: November 14, 2017, 05:07:34 PM »
at least on my system it does.

I can repeat this like clockwork.

As soon as put in the entries in my terrain.cfg file and renumber them.
If I start up FTXC 3.2.3.0 it will crash it and it won't run.
as soon as I take those entries out, it works again,

however, even though it does crash FTXC it does WORK in p3d v4.1 just nice and fine, the water is correct and everything, no trees in the ocean.

However, this is a no go for me, because you have to be able to get to FTXC

so, just letting everyone know.

I've installed it twice, repaired it twice

I have checked my terrain.cfg everything is correct
I have assured that the higher/lower priority is correct

still i have trees in my water. no water at all

to even compound matters I can't even run the fsaddon configurator program, just a little white box pops open and thats it.

Any ideas? I guess, it's not meant to happen for me, cause I don't know what is going on.

I installed it with the migration tool, I have win 10 64 bit and p3d v3.3.5

If anyone can help, that would be great.

General Discussion / wildlife sightseeing?
« on: March 11, 2016, 01:01:56 PM »
Is there any scenery that has wildlife? It would be nice if they were animated, but even standing still would be better than nothing.

I keep reading about real life aviation charter companies who go out and do wildlife sightseeing flights. I would like to simulate this as well.

Also, what about construction projects? I would love to be able to fly over an area and see partially built buildings and then be able to add some more scenery and have the area slowly built up over time.
Anything like that?

Thanks.

Addon Scenery and Enhancements / this would be really nice to have..
« on: January 30, 2011, 05:46:48 PM »
It would be great to have a map of ALL the places so far.
better yet, it would be great to have a plan g map of all the places.  It would be nice to see the relative location of all the places on one map instead of having to load them all separately..

Addon Scenery and Enhancements / an Idea for a scenery project...
« on: January 29, 2011, 08:45:33 AM »
I don't know how complicated this would be, probably a bit tedious for sure, but I think this would sure be fun..

announce an area to the forum where you would be building say 12 cabins, etc.

Now, send out a mission in FSX where we the pilots would have to fly supplies into this location.  Have the end of mission give a code, that we would have to post on the forums, that would give you proof that we flown the supply mission, then update the scenery again, to show a little more progress, say for example, the land would be cleared, trees gone, etc...

then another mission, where we would have to haul more supplies out and then the next update, would include a little more progress, say for example, partially built cabins,

then this would repeat for say 8 weeks or longer, or however you want to drag it out and as more "supplies" gets hauled out to the site, you would update that scenery to allow us to see the progress each week....

probably a lot more then you want to get into, but I think this could be tons of fun..
