This may be a question for Dexter... I have been able to successfully create a schedule of multiple flight plans for aircraft coming in and out of Misty's Place using the ORBX FTX GA aircraft.

I should probably have stopped there... but I would prefer the added sense of realism of having some of the planes I fly (i.e. have downloaded or purchased) be in the mix for AI traffic.  While I can make my planes appear  (e.g. MILVIZ Pilatus or DHC2 - both wheeled versions), when their flight time comes they roam around the airports (Misty's Place and PANT) like they are lost.  They cannot find the taxiway or runway and roam around endlessly. The ORBX AI models do just fine.

Am I asking too much of AI?

I believe we need to update the arrival location for MFC0132A CAU6 to CRAF. After arrival for flight it says I still have 25 miles to go.  Thanks!  Brian

Misty Flying Club and Multi Player / Cigar Box locking up mid flight
« on: September 18, 2019, 10:36:22 PM »
For the first time (after 120+ flights) I am having a problem with Cigar Box locking up mid flight.  I have re-installed it and there is no improvement. Basically I get airborne and then it dies along the way. If I switch to the application Windows says the app is "Not Responding". My only option is to kill the task, but then of course I can't file the PIREP.  Any suggestions?  Brian

I just did a first-time install of Scum Lake.  When I launch the MFC0112A flight plan, it places the airplane in the woods.  When I look at the top down view, the runway seems to be in the wrong location as the runway lights are in a different spot where one would expect the runway to be - near buildings, etc. Could we put that airport and flight plan on the fix list? Thanks!

There may be a problem with the Cape Scott Windfarm MFC0097A flight plan. In my experience it causes P3D to crash or lock up (with audio and no video).  The flight starts at CAW5 and I can start at that SPB without issue when NOT using the FP.  I just downloaded a fresh copy of the RTMM Flight Plans and problem still happens.

Also, in searching for the latest RTMM Flight Plan ZIP, I found we have two broken links to it on this page in the 'purpose' box at top and 'instructions' box at bottom.

I believe we need to update the arrival location for Green Island Cabin. After arrival for flight MFC0231A it says I still have 516 miles to go.  Thanks!  Brian

I think the documentation for MFC0005 Barnstormers needs to have Tezwa River Ranch (PF37) added to the download list.  Brian

Misty Flying Club and Multi Player / Ham Island Marinia & Helipad
« on: December 30, 2018, 02:56:39 PM »
While flying the "2018 A Very Misty Christmas tour" (Tour MFC0025C) I noticed a significant marina and helipad on Ham Island just beyond Triangle Lake Hydro. It doesn't appear on my charts, Google Earth, or in our Google Earth KMZ. Is this Misty's Area 51? A yacht I can sail there? Did I miss a NOTAM? 55°11'33.35"N 131°23'7.44"W   55.192597° -131.385399°

At any rate, thanks for the present!

Prepar3D-Version 4 / CTD with MilViz DHC-2 Beaver in P3Dv4.4
« on: December 30, 2018, 01:58:46 PM »
The P3D 4.4 client update seems to cause a problem for MilViz aircraft that have the weather radar panel.  See:

I changed the entries in dll.xml and panel.cfg (in the folder and area for the specific model I fly) as suggested by this link on the MilViz forum and that seems to get around the problem.

If anyone needs more specific details on the fix, let me know.

Help and Troubleshooting / Stopping the Cessna U206G Soloy MK1 on water?
« on: December 25, 2018, 11:11:20 AM »
I am having difficulty stopping the Cessna U206G Soloy MK1 on water (current Thomas Roehl version). Only thing that seems to work is killing the engine completely.  On the DHC2 I coast to a stop no problem but can keep engine running. Ideas? Brian

I think we need an adjustment to this flight, MFC0221A 2Z1->TF20. Cigar Box says I am 87.57 miles from departure airport at start.  Thanks!  Brian

FYI I noticed one of the flights in the RTMM flight plans zip was not visible to P3D for loading.  After some troubleshooting, I determined a '&' in the DestinationName field of the PLN file was the culprit. It does not cause a problem in the filename, but rather within this specific field of the file contents.

Flight = Owikeno Casino & Resort (OCAR) from Owikeno N Strip (PF39)  -- aka MFC0445A

<DestinationName>Owikeno Casino & Resort</DestinationName>
<DestinationName>Owikeno Casino Resort</DestinationName>

I just flew the wonderfully scenic flight MFC0446A from Pacific Gateway (PF50) to Owikeno N Strip (PF39) and after stomping the brakes and praying for enough runway, alas Cigar Box tells me I have 855.56 miles to go to reach my destination! "Aircraft is not at Arrival" followed by "Aircraft Position Error"

Something to fix?

Before I realized the Misty Flying Club existed (THANK YOU!), I had been diligently flying my routes from the RTMM table and missed the announcement until I happened to glance at the home page and forums last month. Now that I have a few MFC flights under my belt, I am wondering if you have considered adding a new link in the RTMM GO TO table that would allow us to place a bid on any flight in the table and have that contribute towards our MFC hours? Brian
