General Discussion / Poll: What Sim do you use?
« on: July 02, 2020, 04:06:52 PM »
Hello RTMM,
What sim are we all flying around in?  I want to ask the RTMM community to come to their census, and share what flavor of sim we all use.

Indicate which sim you use in the poll above.  ::)

The Moorings - On the Water / A new paintjob for my Malibu.
« on: May 13, 2020, 12:48:08 PM »
I was out in the Valdez harbour, ship spotting in my Malibu.

Then I thought, why isn't my boat painted in BWEP colors?  I could do that!

So I did ...
DeltaSim Studios Malibu 32 in BWEP blue.
(. . . coming soon to RTMM also!   ;))

I am also working on an RTMM colors version.  Not happy with it yet though . . .

Prepar3D-Version 5 / ADE Support for P3D v5
« on: April 29, 2020, 11:12:46 AM »
Jon at Scruffyduck sent out this message this morning.  I thought I'd share . . .

Jon said . . .
First I hope that you are all staying safe and well with the current virus situation.  The world seems topsy turvey right now and I guess many of us have more important things to worry about than the flight simulator

However you will probably have seen the news of the release of P3D v5 by Lockheed Martin.  This is probably  a more major update than many people realize.  For example all the airport have been updated and recompiled.  Also there is a new feature of sloping airports

ADE has been updated to support v5 and there is a development version (1.79) available.  It is reasonably stable and should be installed separately from your existing version.  Also please do not import settings data from a current version to this one.

The download is available from this page

I hope you will try it out if you are starting to work with v5

Please stay safe and healthy

Misty's Place / Windows Firewall Goofy address
« on: April 08, 2020, 03:32:49 PM »
Hello fellow flyers,
Has anyone else encountered this? ???  Is it a valid format?  It doesn't cause any issues, and doesn't always pop up.  Choosing allow or cancel makes no visible difference to the sim.  My sim is on my "Q" drive, not "P", so there's that too.   ???

(Sorry for the intrusive watermark.  Photobucket has "teabagged me" for bandwidth limits.  The fix will cost $13/month more than I already pay.)

Under the watermark, the address reads: P:0\Lockheed Martin\ ...

Misty's Place / New ScruffyDuck Site
« on: December 23, 2019, 12:24:40 AM »
Hello ADE users.  I thought I'd share some info I received in my email the other day.

Jon Masterson over at Scruffyduck has a new website.  He is the developer of the ADE program (Airport Design Editor) that scenery designers use to edit and create airports.  You can check out his new site here:

I urge you to support this developer if you value his efforts.  8)

Here is a copy/paste of the email announcement:
Well another year is almost over and I hope that it has been kind to you.  I would like to wish all of you who celebrate it a Very Happy Christmas and I wish you all a happy, healthy and prosperous 2020.

First I would like to tell you about a new website that we are testing at the moment.  try it out here*   I hope you will take a look and let us know what you think.  The old site will be available for a few more weeks but we will turn it off in the new year.

Second I am pleased to announce that we are about to release a new version of ADE.  This will be version 1.77 (some of you may already have seen it as a development build).  It has been a long time coming but finally it should be available in the very near future.  In keeping with my current approach this is an incremental development on the previous versions so there won't be any fantastic new features (sorry).  However there are quite a few new or updated features and we have managed to blitz a few bugs.

I will send out another email when it becomes available with more details on what's new and what is fixed.

Meantime thank you all for your continued support

Best wishes

Misty Flying Club and Multi Player / Wolf Creek Boathouse is where?
« on: November 18, 2018, 01:34:24 PM »
:-[ :'(     Please help me.  I can't find Wolf Creek Boathouse (WCB) anywhere.  I am suppose to stop at it in leg 5 of tour 4, but where is it?  I have no waypoints on my flightplan, only departure/arrival.  I am going over the documents for the flight, but no clues yet.  I've googled Wolf Creek, but got nothing in my flight area, only Fairbanks area.  No search results in RTMM or GoTo searches either.   :-\ :'(

Misty's Place / The (new) Air Hauler 2 thread
« on: July 11, 2018, 01:36:54 AM »
Hello Misty flyers.  Welcome to the thread for discussions related to Air Hauler 2 in Return to Misty Moorings.  Share stories, tips, help, etc. with fellow AH2 pilots and get acquainted with your virtual shipping community.

I have my base at Klawock, with terminals at Skagway and Telegraph Creek.  My company is 8 female pilots, flying DHC-2 Misty Moorings beavers.  My pilots are named after TV moms, like Shirley Partridge, Lucy Ricardo, Carol Brady, June Cleaver, Marion Cunningham, etc.  They keep my planes clean and smelling fresh.   ;D

Misty's Place / Motherboard Failure :(
« on: March 21, 2018, 01:20:17 AM »
On Sunday my motherboard lost it's bootloader image, and that caused a black bios screen and my system's OS boot record disappeared.  This was sudden and unexpected, during a routine rebooting.  I've had to go back to my previous motherboard, an AM3 type.  I was forced to reinstall windows, and am now in the process of brain-salad surgery getting things functional again.  People, WRITE DOWN YOUR PASSWORDS SOMEWHERE, and REMEMBER WHERE YOU PUT THEM!!!  I was not prepared with passwords or windows key etc., so had to hack my way in with a dull spoon.   :'(   Anyway, I am obviously logged into my account now, so yay for that.  Computer is barely functional, as I am still stitching things up.  I have no sound or microphone, so not much fun yet.

« on: November 14, 2017, 08:34:16 AM »

Hi folks,
I'd like to use Shockwave lights as an option in some of our RTMM models, if you've got them.  Do you?  ???
What I want to know is ...

Do you own the A2A Shockwave REDUX lights?

Doug did some upgrades to Misty's Place for Prepar3d v4, and asked me to "take a look".  So I did, and I took pictures, of course.  (I just taxied to the runway and took off, then landed again.)  ;)

Prepar3D-Version 4 / Airport Design Editor 1.75 for P3Dv4
« on: September 25, 2017, 10:04:34 PM »
A new version (v1.75) of Airport Design Editor is available from Scruffyduck.

Download page -->

     Jon from Scruffyduck says:
We have just released ADE version 1.75.  This version supports Prepar3D v4.  One of the ongoing 'issues' with ADE updates is that we release major new versions as a full installer.  Minor updates are delivered via the online updater.  The reason we do it this way is because a major upgrade often involves a lot of new files and the size becomes too large for the online updater.  It isn't possible with the updater we use to signal a new full installer.

This leads to the situation where users of older versions may not realise that there is a newer version.  Checking for updates tells you that you are up to date.  We are looking at ways to make announcements via ADE outside the online updater when a new major version is released.

We understand that for some folks their current version works well and does everything they need.  Newer versions may contain functionality that is of no interest.  And if it works for you that is fine of course.  Generally though we are only able to support the current production version with fixes.

Meantime I would be interested in hearing from you which version you are currently using.  Perhaps you could spare the time to email me with that information.

Thanks for taking the time to read this

Misty's Place / Around the World in 80 Days with Aerosoft
« on: September 25, 2017, 09:53:12 PM »
E-mail to members of Aerosoft forum: (I believe it's OK to share this with everyone.)

Hi jeff3163,
Hi there, we do not send out of a lot of emails from the forum (and of course only when you allowed us to do so) but we wanted to let you know of a long trip that will soon start.

Phileas Fogg started on 2 October 1872 for his famous circumnavigation and we have decided to fly his route on the correct dates this year. Anybody can join us in this exiting trip. You can make your life as hard as you like or just use a big airliner with a lot of range. I'm silly and will use a PBY Catalina so I will need to plan my route carefully. It's not a race, it's a community event where we hope that you will share your adventure.

You will find the rule book here:

You will find the users diaries here:

Please consider joining us!

Here is an opportunity to join in an epic journey.  ;)
