General Discussion / Re: New Orbx FTX Central
« on: August 10, 2019, 11:39:45 AM »
My first shot at installing Orbx FTX Central seemed to work fine. Everything opened up faster than in the past and solid FPS speeds. Then I noticed none of my RTMM scenery was showing. So, I began looking at insertion points. Then trouble began. My P3Dv 4.5 would not even open. After trying various changes nothing worked. I deleted ORBX Central and went back to FTX Central and it seems to be doing fine. I would like to use the new ORBX Central when I figure it out. Thanks

« on: March 14, 2019, 12:59:02 PM »
I just flew the 2nd leg of MFC0014 SPB(68A) to BEPA (Beecher Pass Cabin)  As I taxied up to finish the flight all I could see at the spot was campfire smoke. There was no other scenery. As I continued to taxi closer my P3D v4.4 crashed. I have done a little searching for information on this cabin and find very little information. I have the coordinates to begin the flight for the next leg but was just wondering what I need to install and or correct to see this site properly.  Thanks for any help you can offer.

Norm, Saturday afternoon and I had a few minutes to give it a shot and no go. Still airplane is not on the ground.

This morning I loaded up the Barnstorming flight MFC0005. I loaded in the Beaver Amphib at 5KE which is a water landing. I taxied out to the water area and shut down the engine. Opened Cigar Box and all looked fine. Clicked Start Flight and get a message that "Airplane is not on the ground" I shut everything down and ran the FTX Central 3 opened settings and ran Configure FTX Global Vector thinking the elevation was off. Fired up P3Dv4 and set up the flight again. Airplane not on the ground. I went ahead and flew the flight just for fun and no credit.

Can anyone offer help? Everything in Cigar Box looks fine and the flight downloaded just fine.

DX10 and Prepar3D Discussions / Owikeno Trip Tic by Doug Linn
« on: March 01, 2015, 05:03:41 PM »
TeeCee and I had a lot of fun this morning flying this Trip Tic. We had been working for quite some time getting Prepar3Dv2.5 installed along with Tongass Fjords, ORBX scenery and all the RTMM libraries and sceneries. But it was well worth it. My old weak Dell computer, 4 years old, ran like a charm producing 20 fps out of max 20 fps on most of the flight with mist, water falls, and all the wonderful RTMM scenery installed. Looked great. Mountains, glaciers, water, rocks, all really fine! Could not say enough about how pleased we were with all of it. Owikeno Lake and that area will be fun to explore for some time to come. Thanks to all with RTMM who had something to do with producing this fantastic area. Just great!

Jeff, I enjoy the missions you write and I enjoy flying in P3Dv2 so I hope you can make this work. Many thanks for all your efforts and the work you do with RTMM. I am having loads of fun with this combination!

DX10 and Prepar3D Discussions / Re: FSXP3D Libraries
« on: June 10, 2014, 10:35:42 AM »
I decided to try it last night. Very carefully I followed each step. Normally I always have problems installing new things in flight sim, but this was the exception. After installing part 1 and part 2, I installed the test scenery and fired up P3Dv2. All the scenery buildings were there just fine. Then I loaded all my RTMM scenery, fired up the program and began flying.
Wow! What fun flying around a all my old favorite spots. It was like returning to your old neighborhood after living in another state for 20 years. Many thanks to you fellows for making all this possible. And for free!
What a great combination of P3D, FTX, TFJ, RTMM and the Beaver. This got me feeling good about flight simming once more. FTX has become confusing for an old timer like me. I was told I needed Pilot FS Global for FTX and so I spent my $81 and got a program I have yet been able to install and cannot find any support to offer me help. And you guys do all this for free and offer plenty of support.
I strongly suggest any newcomers to RTMM stick with it. The rewards are great.
Thanks again! Now back to do some flying!

The Moorings - On the Water / Re: Smoke?
« on: June 01, 2013, 11:20:45 AM »
What you have to do is go to your Prepar3D/effects folder. There look for fs_wake_coastguard.fx   That is the only one you need to change and it changes all AI ships. You need to modify the particle attributes in three places. Modify by placing the two // before the entries as shown.  This is not as hard as it may sound. If you need more help send me a pm and I will work with you. It cleared up all the AI ships wakes instantly and made them work perfectly.

I am not sure what you want a picture of. Read back through this thread for the instructions. What you have to do is go to your Prepar3D/effects folder.
