Thanks Ulani and Neptune. I will try this out and let you guys know how it turns out soon. I really hope it works.

So I was able to recover FSX as it was when I first switched to Windows 10 by repairing "Acceleration" So now I can again play in DX9 mode with no issues. However, my original issue still remains. When I switch to DX10 mode and try to launch a flight, I still get a Black screen with no "Loading" badge and then it crashes.

I'm really thinking that the AMD Drivers made for Windows 10 just don't handle DirectX correctly. I have wrote AMD. I'm still holding out hope that someone may have a solution. Bottom line is, I just don't have to time to reinstall FSX from scratch and even if I did, I have my doubts that I would get everything back as I had it. I had so many little add-ons.. like parks and recreation for the grand canyon. All the missions in California, Total recreation of Death Valley and it's mines and small hotels etc etc etc. I'm so bumbed out by this.

Hi Doug, All other games run fine.

Hi NeptuneP2V7 I will try your method. How and where do I find the "Saved Flights" you have mentioned, so I can delete them. If that works I'll be so very happy!

Was it hard to port over your scenery, Ultimate terrain X, Ground environment X and OrbX?

I have Jeff. I just don't know if I want to spend even more money. I have spent so much on FSX. How much is P3D going for these days? How hard is it to get up and running? Is it tested on Windows 10?

Thank you gentlemen! This is the best forum ever!

I tried several suggestions and nothing seems to work. I think that it is either the AMD Windows 10 Drivers or some Add-on I added over the years that does not like windows 10.

I made things worse by trying to do a repair with the FSX install disc. Now it just crashes. I tried to roll back and that didn't help. I have come to the conclusion that I just need to reinstall the whole program.

From what I understand... I can keep my fsx.cfg and back up my Scenery folders to avoid some of the work?

I know I'm asking a lot here, but can anyone guide me to a page that has directions on how to reinstall with the least amount of fuss?

Thanks again guys! I really appreciate all of you here. You are a great lot of folks and I'm happy to have made all of your acquaintances!

More error logs. Any of this mean anything, to anyone? :(

Update: Unfortunately, that didn't work. I'm guessing it is the AMD video card drivers. Honestly, AMD has been having a hard time with their drivers and Windows 10. They are updating at a rate of one new driver, every two weeks. They just got a driver out that is not throwing my system into a blue screen memory management situation.

If anyone else has a solution, I'm all ears. Thanks for the help guys! It means a lot.

This will be a huge loss and a waste of hundreds of hours of work, if I can't get this to work. I can still play in DX9, however, that looks like a cartoon compared to the graphics I had with DX10, not to mention the fact that it ran 100 times smoother with DX10. I had a perfect sim in Windows 7. What a shame.

Sorry for the late reply Jeff! Life got cooky!

Yes, I'm using FSX.

My sim tends to run perfect without DX10 on.

I am starting think it may be to new video card drivers.

From time to time I will get a “Pop up” crash report. However this only happens about half the time. I noticed it said something about C++. I have not seen it in a while.

I will try to follow your steps to see if that helps. Thanks so much for the help! By the way, Good to see you're still here!

Hello! I hope you are all doing well!

The other day I decided to upgrade to windows 10. As I expected, FSX is not doing well. I have a weird issue. The games starts fine. However, when I try to launch the sim, I just get a black screen. The loading box you would normally see is missing. Then the game crashes.

Anyone else have this issue? Anyone have the fix? Ugh... I'm hoping I don't have to roll back.

Thanks Neptune! I only have 3.8 Ghz. However, I do have 32 GB of RAM and 6 GB of video card. Your specs look excellant! I think I would be running a bit slower than you.:)

I'm thinking it can't be any worse than New York City X when it came out. I should point out that it is a bit better with version 2. If anyone wants a really acurate New York and has at least the specs of my machine, then I would highly recommend it.

I may just get So Cal. I somehow have my doubts that my Townhouse will be correctly modeled in it. LOL! I seen some Youtube videos and ORBX has done a really great job with the mountains and Quarries. FSX did a terrible job and UTX didn't really get it right either.

Anyone own this that is using FSX with DX10? I was wondering how it was in the way of lag? I have heard a lot of complaints. Anyone know how it would compare in performance to let's just say New York City X? <--- the biggest CPU hog I know. I can fly in New York City X, but have a little bit of issue in weather.

Being that I live in So Cal, I'm excited about this update, but a little concerned about performance. I have trouble with just the few ORBX freeware airports in the Southern California area. :/

Some good news I'm hoping?
