This is such sad news.

I am not as frequent a visitor to the forum as I would like to be but always found Spud to be very helpful and knowledgeable of our great hobby.

It looks like HMCS Ville de Québec needs some help having run a ground at Guard Island Lighthouse.

Well I rolled the dice and made a few flights yesterday evening picking destinations and scenery at random.

One fight took me to "Ocean Falls" I think...images below.

Great flight as until you make the final turn all appears calm and then a whole complex opens up with jetties, cruise ship, accommodation...perfect!

I have a few hours spare this evening after work which is always a good thing.

Rather than spend time programming a FMC on a tubeliner and letting "charlie" do the work I'm heading over to MM to log some hours in my trusty beaver.

I looking to do a "round robin" or sorts and hoping a experienced forum member might have some route suggestions?

Put your feet up and wait for it to clear.

Welcome to one of the most enjoyable and well resourced websites dedicated to our wonderful hobby.

I'm Uk based as well and enjoy flying around MM a lot.  Always something new to discover.

For those pilot based in the UK ITV have a show called the The Cruise.

it is the usual "fly on the wall" documentary falling the crew of cruise ship around various part of the world.  the most recent series took in Ketchikan and Juneau.

Naturally this got my interest and the show didn't disappoint with great views of the scenery on offer in the area not to mention the navigational challenges of manoeuvring a cruise ship in the area.

I'm not sure if the show is available outside of the UK but you might be able to view a few clips at the link below;

I removed Sky Force last night.

Went back to Texture Direct and FSXWX and made a few flights around MM.

All is well again.

Of course it is!

I was looking for it as a MM scenery.  Opened up FTX Central to make some adjustments and spotted in there!

Looks gorgeous.

Which "refuge cove" is this?

Morning all.

Any users of the recently released REX Sky Force 3D here?

I purchased the program a few weeks ago and have made around two dozen flights using the software.

Honestly at this stage I am not overly impressed with the product.  It has a few bugs (I understand a Hotfix is on the way) and on my setup does degrade performance (judged on FPS) between 10/20% depending on the conditions.

The improved visuals (cloud models / environment colours) are Ok but not really giving me the "wow" factor.

Seriously thinking of moving back to FSXWX (freeware weather engine) and REX Texture Direct with Soft Clouds which I liked a lot!

Thank you.

Good to know I haven't messed up the installation!
