Title: Microsoft Flight Simulator Flight Adventure
Post by: Bradallen43 on March 10, 2021, 10:45:49 AM
It's been a long cold lonely winter, the smiles returning to their faces, Here comes the Sun.

So, I've been discovering how amazing Microsoft Flight Simulator is and enjoying it quite a lot. Except when some of the bugs show up, but oh well. Any way, I wanted to share this bush trip that I've created for MSFS that is situated in the Bahamas. Yes I'm still fixated with that area.

I do plan on creating these types of adventures for our Alaska home some day though. Hopefully, once we can figure out how to convert some of our scenery. It can be done but I'm not schooled enough to know how to make that happen.

If you are using MSFS, you can find my file here:
https://flightsim.to/file/9851/bahamas-odyssey-day-one-v1-0

Please give it a go and let me know what you think?

Hope you're all doing well and staying healthy,
Brad

Norm,

Thanks man. I've downloaded Brian's scenery and will put together something around his locations. They are almost a MSFS version of what we've done at RTMM. I hope somebody can come up with a way to convert our objects and scenery for usage in MSFS so we can continue on the RTMM traditions in the new sim.

Yep for sure.

A nice 411 nm FP.. lol.. That will take a few days to do in a Xcub, C172 or Savage! Oh PS: we might need a few fuel triggers installed in the MSFS Bahamas cause we're going to need some gas on the way! lol.

The plan doesn't just fly for all of those distances in one trip. It's spread out over various legs of smaller increments. It takes a whole day using my timeline for the legs.

This way you can realistically play out a day of flying and the sunlight, weather, etc. can all be customized between legs as the user sees fit.

lol. yep I know.  (I guess we should move this to MSFS section) but I don't have any special rtmm "powers" to move these posts!)

(Dan/Doug can you move this forum over to the Microsoft Flight Simulator Section?)

Good Job Brad!

We explored the Bahamas on and off the 10 years my wife and cruised fully time in our sailboat.  Now I can have a look at it from the Air.

While not Bush flying in the same vain as Alaska, most of the places especially in the Exhumas are indeed remote.....in fact, the Bahamas was one of the more underdeveloped countries we visited, including the windward and leeward islands.

When you give us the high sign, this could be another destination for the flying club.

MFC can definitely use anything of mine they want to visit. Bahamas scenery for FSX/P3D as well as these MSFS adventure flights I'm doing.

I will have some Alaska/Canada adventure flights coming for sure.

Recently I did a couple of long excursion type events in Alaska, (Approaching Anchorage and the other exploring the Kenai Peninsula, then, go figure, did an excursion in the French Alps!). These are just as easy to do as in previous sims - especially where is much better design software IE: LNM where is has been updated for each of the sims including P3Dv5 with a newer airport database than previous sims and now as well as MSFS with the very latest airport table.

I'm sure most non-MSFS users are kind of bored of all the MSFS chatter or hype these days so will shut up (soon), but for anyone who might like to participate group events, you can in MSFS. Here is a link to the official MSFS events calendar.  (It can populate very fast sometimes!). There are some events of a varied nature but many are VFR type community trips-all over the world.

LINK: https://forums.flightsimulator.com/c/community/community-fly-in-events/143/l/calendar

(Now I'll shut up)

I've also recently released Day 3, 4 and 5 of my Bahamas Odyssey adventure flights.

They're on Flightsim.to.

I have "DADGAMETIME" on flightsim.to but he doesn't appear to have any files uploaded?

Unfortunately he removed all his pieces and also removed is profile. Out of the game.

I stumbled across some of DADGAMETIME's stuff here:

https://modshost.com/mfs2020/airports/alaskan-seaplane-bases-volume-1/

https://modshost.com/mfs2020/airports/alaskan-seaplane-bases-volume-2/

He's really top notch, and I'm glad his stuff is still out there.
