I haven't checked, everything seems to be working OK..

EDIT..  Yes, I had to reset the insertion point.

Interesting. When I installed the new version I didn't see anything about an updated PNW. I already had the latest. Also, my insertion points didn't need to be reset. My FTX Central is v3.3.9.2

OrbX Central is new. It instaalls the OrbX stuff via xml, not the scenery library. It is not FTX Central.

OK, but the OP states that there's a new FTX Central.  I guess I didn't install a new FTX Central the last time I ran it after all. I rarely use or need FTX Central anyway.

Steve

Does this bloated monster replace FTX Central?

This is the current status:

- There is still FTX Central 3 that is running for some years now and can still be used without any restrictions.

- New release since 07/05/2019 is Orbx Central
https://orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/177272-orbx-central-has-now-been-released/
This is a completely new software.

You must not run FTX Central 3 and Orbx Central simultaneously which might cause severe problems.
Orbx Central will replace FTXCentral 3 in future.

My personal opinion and experience:
One should wait some time before switching to the new version.
Users are reporting different experiences at this time and you can read about problems and questions, asking for help hourly not only in the Orbx forum.
Once all problems are eliminated Orbx Central will be an excellent tool.

I stand corrected.  It is now Orbx Central.  No more FTX.  Sorry for the mistake :-[

Like I alluded to in my previous post, this thing looks like its a case of classic bloatware full of unneeded garbage.

OK i recover my Tongass Fjord how i do
in my sceneries cfg they are 2 layers Tongass the 356 & 357
when i launch P3D a popup said  it don't find this layer area in scenery cfg  do you want unload yes or no

i said no for the 2 but nothing the elevation airport is wrong .

i dowload snery configurator with the java for installation
i open it after installing the 2 tongass higher & lower priority are in red flag ..
I edit the 2 tongass folder to the good path anther time and i run P3Dv4.5 after saving Scenery config .

all Tongass are nice now  ..

if i can help  somebody

So the insertion point it's always the same nothing  to adjust a level of priority

see you

It is a replacement for the FTX Central scenery manager.  It is an updated version.  It should be much better.  It has no "bloatware", only access to all of my Orbx products.  It brings the storefront into the Central program, instead of opening a webpage to buy new products.  That doesn't matter to me.  I already own all of them anyway.  But it will keep all of my scenery packages up-to-date.
By the way, I've just fired up my P3D for the first time after installing Orbx Central.  I have not had any issues so far.  My plane is sitting on the water at Hydaburg.  I did have many warnings about the FTX AI planes needing to have unique title names when I started.  But that is all.  Except for the insertion point needing to be reset, (is that an issue?) I don't know what other issues people are having.  I tried to find the forum threads discussing problems with Orbx Central.  But I didn't find it.  I set my insertion point and updated my scenery packages before starting P3D the first time.  Seems to work as intended.   :)

Every thing has worked for me.  I don't know why some folks think they have to move everything.  I like the auto update thing.  I found three of my installs had updates that I didn't know about.  Time marches on!

My first shot at installing Orbx FTX Central seemed to work fine. Everything opened up faster than in the past and solid FPS speeds. Then I noticed none of my RTMM scenery was showing. So, I began looking at insertion points. Then trouble began. My P3Dv 4.5 would not even open. After trying various changes nothing worked. I deleted ORBX Central and went back to FTX Central and it seems to be doing fine. I would like to use the new ORBX Central when I figure it out. Thanks

Anybody else working with Orbyx Central 4 v0.12?
There seems to have been a lot of updates to the original program over the last few days
I haven’t tried it yet as I have very functional FSX and P3Dv4.5 sims and scared to upset them!
Want new Sceneries though

If your FTXCentral is workin ok:
No reason to change from FXTCentral3 to OrbxCentral now - no advantages at this time - constant improvements in the updates but still not completely "bugless".

Thanks Dieter-was my gut feeling confirmed by yourself with vastly more experience than me
Are you interested in any of the new Orbyx Sceneries only available via Central 4 ?
I will content myself with the splendid setup I currently have-off to fly the “new” RTMM BWEP “ updates of the Alaska pipeline!

If you're all splendid don't change it.  After lots of reading on it, it's definitely not worth the bang for the buck at this time.

I just took it through the paces, insertion point etc. and it works well for me.  No complaints.

I was updated to the 0.13 version (on Friday the 13th :() and checked insertion points and all was well.
This morning I noticed ORBX Global Vector was no longer working.

Long story short I finally uninstalled it and reinstalled into the main folder - got it back but now I have to disable all the elevation problems again. Is there a list here on RTMM of the airports that need to be disabled?

Hi Bob, You should run the Vector Auto Config after any install or removal of scenery.  There's a little notice on the tab for airport elevation corrections.

Thanks Dex
A few others I remembered are the BWEP list.
PAVS (Sparrevohn LRRS Airport) is another.

Whew lucky guy! Most aren't so fortunate as the new central so far has been known to destroy scenery.cfg files has a tendancy to eat scenery entries if it is not done exactly right lol. (And never uninstall FTX Central 3 before putting on ORBX Central (which is v4x).
