Title: Lower Lodge Watercraft Start?
Post by: wschneid on March 14, 2019, 09:02:36 AM
Tour #2 for MMFC calls for a trip from Waterfall(KWF) to Lower Lodge Watercraft Start (LLWS). I don't have the scenery for LLWS nor any coordinates for its location. Can anyone help?

Refer to the scenery requirements. First Lower lodge is part of the Hang 'Em High Resorts scenery piece. Once that scenery is installed you'll be able to see Hang Em High Resorts (Upper and Lower Lodges and the Lower Lodge watercraft start area.

RTMM Scenery requirements:

 Misty's Place PF20
 Waterfall
 New Eddystone Rock
 Hang 'em High (Also includes Lower Lodge Watercraft Start (LLWS) <<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<
 Hollis Harbor
 Klawock Snow Dogs

Load up the FP and you'll see the location.

Sorry, I am in the process of flying the 2nd tour and now have to fly this leg:
7   KWF   Waterfall SPB   LLWS   Lower Lodge Watercraft Start

However, I cannot find LLWS nor Hang ´em  high in the scenery library for MSFS.
I could find an older version here (but the link is DEAD!):

Can you direct me to that scenery please?

THANK YOU!

Hey there Juergen.. hang them high does not exist in Microsoft flight simulator, only in FSX and p3d.
The early MFC tours were made for FSX and p3d using rtmm. In these flights you can fly them in msfs with a little inventiveness but there is no scenery to represent those locations in msfs. Refer to the homepage notes on the misty's Flying club home page for the earlier MFC tours that were originally done using rtmm scenery in FSX and P3D.

Thank you, Norm, I had already suspected that... But as long as I have not filed a pirep for this leg I cannpt book the following one.
Would it suffice to land near the geographical coordinates of those missing scenery pieces?

If that is acceptable to the ACARS I can try that little trick and continue the tour nevertheless.

I think this would be close enough

Yes sir you can land as close as you can and that will suffice.. the prep will complete and your next leg will be able or open to fly. But in your sim best to save your position so that you can easily start from that position.

The idea here is to not be too concerned with the departure location and the destination location, although they should be close, the enjoyment comes out of the flying the terrain or route.

That is definitely true, Norm, and I´ll make sure to find the location back using the coordinates....
Thank you for your heads-up and support, I shall continue to enjoy the stunning sceneries in that part of the world! 8)

I also am new and fell into the "fail to comprehend" that some of these wont be in MSFS. I started this tour and am at this point. Is it possible to start one of the MFS Tours or will that cause issues? I could do the work arounds to finish it, but I am not really one to jump through hoops if it isnt needed.

Disregard that, I managed to get into and out of LLWS or somewhere close. Seems as the ACARS accepted what I done, so as long as you guys are happy too those 2 legs are done. I just landed where I thought it should be by looking at littlenavmap and MSFS's map. Then when it come time to take off from there I just used a custom takeoff and started at1500ft and landed. Then fired up ACARS and took off for HYL. ACARS seemed to be ok with that. If MSFS ever gets to where you can start anywhere you want on water/land without being airborne, I would love to do these old tours, but after this on it looks like its off to the ones with the MFS designator.

Thank you,
Tommy

Whatever suits your fancy Tommy. You can jump to MFS tours and/or you can play and fly the routes of the MFC tours.. your choice, and either way no problem and no issues for the system.

As I reported I used the geographical coordinates to set up the destination for this leg
7   KWF   Waterfall SPB   LLWS   Lower Lodge Watercraft Start
and then again the same coordinates for take off for departure from LLWS (I do not remember if it startet airborne or not, but IF it does use the SLEW key immediately - it is Y as in the old FSX - and then lower your plane to the ground or water with the F1 key and you should be all set...)
It is not a big thing and should not hinder you from enjoying the nice scenery up there  :-*

And the best: as Norm just said - it does not really matter too much... All that matters is having fun...

Thanks Scorpio I tried the slew mode and for the life of me I could not figure out how to move the plane. I tried a quick google search that wasnt going anywhere so I figured heck with I will just land the thing!!

Will for sure give the F1 a try, and do some searching to figure out the rest of the slew controls. I am still pretty new to MSFS.

Thank you again!!

Hi heathen,

glad I could give you some ideas....
the SLEW commands are the same as in FSX (like most things MSFS anyway....) and you use the numpad .
There is a short list here: https://www.gamesradar.com/microsoft-flight-simulator-2020-keyboard-controls/

Have fun and a Happy Pentecost!

Thank you, that will come in very handy. I have never messed with slew mode in any sim. I had no clue what default was for that stuff.
