I am new to using this Garmin model and am having problems following the flight plans.
I load the flight plan in FSX-SE, set the 530 to GPS with the CDI button. The flight plan leg shows magenta on the Garmin map and I fly at an angle to intercept the first waypoint; however, when I engage autopilot in NAV mode, the aircraft never captures or follows the path. It definitely is controlling the heading, but I'm not sure to where. >:(
Obviously, I am missing something. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi
first Baro iniciating & ident and ON
2nd mode NAV or GPS to choose
if you want to follow a FPL mode GPS , if you want follow VOR or NDB mode NAV that is in back left of the GPS buton .
after you switch ON your AP & select ALT after you select your NAV you see on the screen GPS "ROL" your AP is ON ROL is for stabilise your plane in flight .
Now re-click on NAV mode and your DHC2 follow the FPL .
that i do with it ...
One thing more : don't look any more on external view , need to stay in your VC sometime the AutoPilot over shoot segments and don't turn...., at this moment need to increment your heading pointing the segment after turning , i don't know why but i find this solution .. ;)

Thanks Patrick.
No luck. I have not been able to get the AP to show "GPS ROL" and will not follow the flight plan.

Okay, I think I have found the information in needed in the manual for the KAP_140 autopilot manual. Imagine that! :P
