Title: P3D V4 - AI Traffic - known issues?
Post by: lionwing on August 10, 2017, 03:20:39 AM
I spent a productive few hours yesterday evening installing ORBX SA, PNW and PF in P3Dv4 completing the process with the excellent guide for installing Tongass Fjords into v4.

It looks looks great after a couple of short test flights with a few problems other forum users have posted in the forum.

I also installed all the AI Traffic files available but when trying to view some of the aircraft this caused a CTD.

Are there any know issues, and workarounds, with the AI Traffic files available on the website?  This includes water traffic also.

Thank you.

Hi Lionwing,

Right now, the only CTDs caused by AI aircraft using the standard RTMM required sceneries that I know of are from some of the TFX AI planes.  Have you put in the fix that is referenced in Reply 17 of this thread:

stiletto2 (aka Rod)

I hadn't seen that reply but that does sound like the solution.

Once I get in front of my sim machine tonight I will implement the fix.

Many thanks.

Well that fixed that problem.

What is the state of play with water based AI?  Ships, boats etc?

Just an FYI:

The traffic file "trafficKetchYacht.bgl" that is part of the "PAKT Traffic Update for NEW PAKT from ORBX" package (in the Enhancements/A.I. Traffic section) causes my installation of P3Dv4 to CTD after loading the scenery 100%.  I figured this out by process of elimination.

Otherwise, I have a full install of RTMM working well on P3Dv4.
