Blue Wave Energy Partners - Live!
The long-awaited BWEP scenery is now available at http://return.mistymoorings.com/bwep/ (http://return.mistymoorings.com/bwep/). This has been a huge team effort, spear-headed by Brad Allen who even went to visit the actual pipeline recently. Brad has done the major work on "laying the pipe." The scenery closely depicts the route of the actual Alaska Pipeline. When you look closely at the objects that make up the pipeline, the detail is amazing thanks to the efforts of Murray Bremmer.
Other team members got deeply involved with the project too. Klaus Troeppner created repaints for many airplanes, helicopters and ships in the new BWEP blue/white colors. These are all available for download under the repaints table on the web page. Dex Thomas gave us AI traffic, shipping and air for the project. The videos are by Robert Pomerleau and we have embedded two of them on the page. Many hours were spent doing alpha and beta testing by Jeff Greene and Guy Maricich. One of the most difficult areas for us is handling the object libraries, and we needed many special objects for this project. This was all done smoothly and efficiently for us by Steve Weinkamer that made the new BWEP library happen for us.
Rod Jackson developed a new RTMM Dispatch Selector that allows you to use this single tool for both BWEP and Medical Facility dispatches. You can download this from the dispatch table on the page. Using the new tool, you can turn the dispatches on and off as you need them, (with the simulator off). When they are off, the details and scenery for the dispatch are not seen. When you turn them on, the scenery will be present for you. We have 7 dispatches ready for this first installment.
BWEP-SAK is the first of four installments ... designed just for ORBX SAK. The next three installments move north above Valdez and will utilize ORBX Global and ORBX Vector. The pipeline will eventually terminate at Deadhorse. For detailed information on the project, storyline and downloads, go to the BWEP page (http://return.mistymoorings.com/bwep/) at RTMM.
We will use this thread for your discussion on BWEP. Thank you for your patience while we developed it.

This is an awesome piece of work! Murray's pipeline models themselves are gorgeous to look at and see them glint in the sun. I am having fun trying out the BWEP dispatches right now. Gotta go fix another oil leak....see the first one I found below.....

Just WOW !
Took off from Valdez following the pipeline north. What a a job they have done. This is an incredible addition! A must have for Alaskan bush flying. The detail they have put into this is astonishing.

I found a better "smoke" object. But you still have to be about 2 miles from it to see it. We can't find one (so far) that can be seen at a greater distance. But this smoke is about 300 (virtual) feet, so a lot easier to spot for Dispatch #6. The object is EZ-Lodge #3 ... scale near zero and placed. There is a new RTMM Dispatch.zip that has this new object added if you are interested (as of 09.20.2016).

Sue,
Looks like you're missing some of the objects you should be seeing. Looking at the screenshot you posted, there are a couple of blue trimmed buildings that the pipe runs into at that pump station. I'm not seeing those in the image you shared. Here's what you should be seeing:
Another angle
(http://i235.photobucket.com/albums/ee224/bradallen43/bwep%20pumping%20station%2012_01.jpg)
Please make sure all of our libraries for RTMM objects are installed and not just the BWEP ones. You will be able to do this by using our Library Object tester scenery found here: http://www.return.mistymoorings.com/object_libraries_build/
Look down the list for The Scenery Object Tester link and follow the directions. Report back and let us know what you're missing and we'll help make sure that you see the pipeline in all it's glory!

I just downloaded the BWEP Flightplans.zip. Looks like there is an orphan plan in it:
VFR - Bozeman to West Yellowstone.pln
Who went flying in FTX Central Rockies and left their flightplan laying around? ;D
-
Thank you, got it fixed, new flight plan set is "up."

Unless I got a bad download, there is another problem that is going to confuse the heck out of new BWEP users during the installation.
The "BWEP_AI_Files" download is missing some "clear" installation instructions, that without them, new flight sim users may not be able to figure out to get a good installation.
1. When the ZIP file is extracted, it lists 12 "airport" BGL files, 3 "traffic" BGL files, and an "Installation.txt" file that says what to do with them. That part (as for instructions) works fine.
2. There are also 2 ZIP files..."AI_Rotorcraft_Bell_206L_TFX.zip" and "BWEP_Heli_Traffic.zip". When you unzip them, the "instructions" inside them are either missing or unclear for a new flight sim user. Specifically...
3. The "BWEP_Heli_Traffic" unzipped README.txt file tells you where to put the ADE and Traffic files (good!), but also says, "YOU MUST HAVE INSTALLED FSADDON'S TONGASS FJORDS THAT INCLUDES THE AIRCRAFT: AI_Rotorcraft_Bell_206L_TF". That's true, and a user would have that already in their FSX/P3D SimObjects/Rotorcraft folder. However, now the confusion starts, because....
4. The "AI_Rotorcraft_Bell_206L_TFX.zip" extracts ONLY a SUBFOLDER TREE of what would be in the SimObjects/Rotorcraft/AI_Rotorcraft_Bell_206L_TFX helicopter folder in FSX/P3D (from the Tongass Fjords install). There are NO INSTRUCTIONS in the ZIP download describing what to DO with the folders and files after they are extracted (the only "txt" file is a copyright file for the helicoptor included with Tongass Fjords). ***There needs to be an "Installation.txt" file in this download telling the user something like, "Copy these items to your SimObjects/Rotorcraft/AI_Rotorcraft_Bell_206L_TFX folder in your simulator, overwriting any files if asked."*** I already had the AI_Rotorcraft_Bell_206L_TFX folder in my sim directory from the Tongass Fjords addon, but the RTMM AI download has TWO new Texture folders, a NEW aircraft.cfg file, and a BACKUP of the original TF aircraft.cfg file. There needs to be an "Installation.txt" file in the RTMM BWEP AI_Rotorcraft_Bell_206L_TFX.zip download that explains how to get the "new" stuff into the existing folder in the flight simulator.
Sorry for the long explanation. But the above issues are gonna cause confusion for flight sim users who aren't familiar with how it needs to be done.
-
Congratulations on the launch... I am pleased to see this project through good luck and enjoy.... ;)

Great launch guys.. and great scenery..

Hi Bradallen 43
Thanks to all the team for this fine piece of work -I am inspecting the pipeline as I speak in my properly painted Beaver!
I was not aware of the Library Object Tester-picked up one library I had failed to install-I run FSX and P3D.
Thanks also for that.
For interest I seem to have two block buildings on the east side of the installation shown by Penzoil3
Seem to be of Blue Wave Energy origin with pictures of oil rigs on the side etc
xxd09
-
The two bldgs. are indeed part of the BWEP project. If you do not have them in your BWEP then your missing a library.

Hi All
A couple of points
Valdez PAVD is imminent as an Orbyx airport-super prerelease pictures on Orbyx Forums
Got a Blue Wave Repaint on the Beaver Tundra Wheels -not having much luck with Amphibian and Float -P3D or FSX
Any obvious mistakes an amateur would make?
xxd09
-
xxd09.. hope this isn't confusing..
Using the sample BWEP Aerosoft Beaver Amphibian repaint download:
(All repaints are just about the exact same!!)
1. Edit aircraft config file: add the proper text into the aircraft.cfg of the Aerosoft Beaver Amphibian folder
[fltsim.x] x+ 1 is the next number (Ie: go to your last fltsim variation, IE: IF your last paint is [fltsim.12], then the next paint is named [fltsim.13]. So from the repaint download readme.txt file:
[fltsim.x] becomes >> [fltsim.13]
title=N217MM BWEP AMPHIBIAN
sim=FSX_DHC-2A >> Must match the _____(.air) file name in the Aerosoft Beaver Amphibian folder
model=amphib1 >> Must match the model folder name (model.amphib1)
panel= >> // The panel folder is "panel" //>> This must match the panel folder name or the //////////////////////////// repaint will not show up.
sound=
texture=N217MM >>must add the texture.N217MM folder (in the repaint download) to the Aerosoft ///////////////////////Beaver Amphibian folder
kb_checklists=DHC-2A_check
kb_reference=DHC-2A_ref
ui_manufacturer=de Havilland Canada
ui_type=DHC-2 Amphibian
ui_variation=BWEP
atc_heavy=0
atc_id=N217MM
atc_airline=BWEP
atc_flight_number=
atc_parking_types=RAMP
ui_typerole="Single Engine Prop Amphib"
ui_createdby="Aerosoft"
description="This is a repaint of the payware Aerosoft BeaverX De Havilland DHC2 representing the fictitious De Havilland DHC2 of Blue Wave Energy Partners (BWEP) by Return to Misty Moorings. see homepage under www.return.mistymoorings.com."
Double checks:
1) Ensure you are in the simobjects/airplane/Aerosoft Beaver Amphibian folder for this repaint add.
2) That the air file name matches
3) That the model folder name matches
4) That the panel folder name matches
5) Edit then save the aircraft.cfg after you add the correct text from the readme.file.
6) Remember to change the ( [fltsim.x] from the last.. + 1.)
6) Add the texture folder (texture.N217MM) to the Aerosoft Beaver Amphibian folder
Repaint should work without issue.
(Float 8 seat repaint is the exact same except the working folder is: Aerosoft Beaver Floats 8 Seats)..
Norm
(All the other repaint sare done the exact same just the airplane working folder is different). Hope this helps?
-
Hi nbrich1
Thanks for the prompt reply-am doing what you have detailed
The one or two areas of conflict were new to me-panel for instance-not sure how I would detect a conflict here
Confusingly I have got a Aerosoft Beaver X Tundra Wheels and a standard Piper Cub in Blue Wave colours in the air for P3Dv3.4
I have got a standard Beaver Float plane in Blue Wave colours in the air for my FSX setup
No luck with the other Beaver variations in either sim-will persist!
Confusing as some are OK and not others of similar types using same procedures.
xxd09
-
Success-persisted and managed to install all I wanted .Not entirely clear how I managed it or why I hadn't achieved it before.Human error no doubt!
xxd09
-
Congratulations XXd Oh nine!
Just have be careful to make sure all is a match and the repaints should work.
Good job. Now to the air in a BWEP livery painted aircraft.
Norm
PS: Great repaints Klaus!! Thank-you.

Can you give me an idea as to how far this location is located from PAVD along the pipeline? I've got all the scenery installed and want to check this location as well before starting the missions. I checked the scenery tester, and all is well, just want to check this one.

Hi gwplotts,
The coordinates of this location are printed in the top left corner of Brad's photos which show the buildings.
Lat: N61* 28.35' W145* 8.57' ;)

Not sure yet had to wait for the release to see what, if anything needs to be altered.
Any early purchasers' note any problems yet?
I usually do not "do" ORBX airports myself.

Hi spud
Initial report on Orbyx Valdez PAVD-looks good-BWEP buildings and pipeline seem to be integrated
Heavy duty photoreal scenery -more realistic?
Off to fly from Valdez PAVD to Kiutina Outfitters!
xxd09
A great flight -what a tribute to the Developers of the Flight Sim Community!
-
(Make sure you are at 7200 feet going over that glacier!) :-)
-
Nice add Doug.... Reservations for a fancy dinner in that lodge after a nice site see around the Outfitters.
Great job with the Kiutina Outfitters piece. (And Steve Weinkamer too!) - lol Doug.. it's a sign!
Norm
-
Well we were almost done and somebody told us our sign was wrong ... hmmm ... so Steve got out the paint bucket and fixed it! :-)
I'm going to add little things "up" the pipeline that people can go "off pipeline" to visit. I've already found some interesting ones.
Thank you. That one was my first season switcher ... wow, does that make "this" job different! :-)

I have Global AI Ship Traffic installed. IN the readme for the Oil Tanker and Tugboat repaints it directs to the SimObjects/Airplane folder, which does not include any ships. The SimObject/Boats folder does not contain FSX Oil Tanker or Sh_High sea salvage tugboat. Where should these repaints go?
-
Hi Doc_Z,
There are boats in the "airplanes" folder. I have all of my Deltasim boats in that folder (including the tug), as well as the oil tanker and a masted sailing ship. (to mention a few). The AI boats are in the "boats" folder. The airplanes folder is where the ones you get to drive are located. ;)
The repaints go in the respective vehicle's texture folders (one for each repaint). The oil tanker and SH_High Seas tugboat should be installed prior to applying any repaints, of course. Then follow the instructions that should come with all repaints. Let me know if you need more specific help with this, ok. :)
:-[ Oops! ... just realized we are "off topic" here. Sorry. :-[

Yes, this is the reason.
these two ships are pilotable ships. All pilotable vehicles no matter if airplanes, cars or ships have to go into the airplanes folder.
AI ships would have to be put into the boats folder.
If you do not have the two ships already, you can download them via the following links:

Hi All
Just an update-re Orbyx Valdez Airport and BWEP combined.
Sorry to say that the Pipeline is compromised in the Valdez port area-lots of gaps and broken joints.
Two steps forward and one back!
BWEP Buildings seem to be Ok .
Shame- Suggestion-keep a few hundred yards out from the Pipe in Valdez area and enjoy the Orbyx scenery- it is a fine job that they have done.
Close into the Pipe outside the Valdez area to view this great Add-on

Brad is working on the fix, be patient. It might take a little while because he's riding out Hurricane Matthew right now.He posted info in the PAVD Valdez thread - reply #16.

Hi kalmanni,
Welcome to the RTMM forum. Check your settings. I have flown the pipeline a few times now in P3Dv3.4.9, with my Vive HMD VR headset. I don't see the performance hit that you are describing. What card are you using? Is it overclocked? What are your graphics settings? ???
-
Hi All
It may be of interest that "Lysander" over in the Orbyx forums under Community Scenery Addons-[Canada Scenery] Whitehorse Yukon CYXY has a Scenery Addon for Whitehorse Airport-terminal of the Alaska pipeline
This is a Canadian Pacific DC3 mounted as a windvane in the airport precincts !
Read the sequence of posts to get a pristine DC3 ,tourists and a bus
xxd09
-
Thanks but I checked the posts and don't see any reference to the pipeline there for Lysander. Not sure how that would affect our pipeline project anyway since it's nowhere near where the BWEP project is running along.
But please let me know if I'm missing something elsewhere,
Brad

I'm running nVidia 7-series, overclocks don't matter, have tried. I've never before experienced similar performance drops.

Are you running P3D on a laptop?

Does the problem disappear if you disable the BWEP scenery? ???
-
First of all GREAT JOB on this BWEP project y'all. Wow! I have it all set up now with Orbx PAVD and it's stunning.
I only have one question. I can't seem to locate Klauss's repaint for the Bell 206L AI craft from TF scenery. I see some for a Bell206B but not TF AI craft. Any help much appreciated.
-
FSX/Sim Objects/Rotorcraft/AI_Rotorcraft_Bell_206L_TFX
it's installed by TF, if you chose AI on install.
-
Hi Bradallen 43
Thanks for all your work
All loaded and looking good
Youall have made this a great area to fly about -along the Pipe or up and over the glacier to Klutina Outfitters
What more could a Bush Pilot ask for!
xxd09
-
once again I have to give a standing ovation, not just for BWEP, but for that Dispatch Selector switch, that is the slickest thing since an oil slick under a Beaver on floats, wish didn't have to close out FSX to activate a scenery one at a time, which to me is the whole point of the switch, but that is the only down side to it. So who ever discovered it, or designed it, and adapted it to RTMM, tip of the wing to you
-
Thanks, for the "tip of the wing". When I designed the selector, I prohibited using it while FSX/P3D were running because sometimes FSX/P3D locks the files it has loaded and they are unable to be changed while it is running. That would then mean the selector would sometimes not update the files changes required when a dispatch is selected and that would cause confusion.
The same problem exists with control panels too.
Rod
-
Rod I knew there must have been a reason, but I just thought it was a neat deal, good job and to Doug heading up the BWEP project and anyone else I might not be aware of
-
Thanks, but I'm just a "follower" on BWEP, Brad is leading this new effort. I can't believe he is going to lay all that pipe, a piece at a time ... amazing. He's almost to Fiarbanks!
-
Does the problem disappear if you disable the BWEP scenery? ???
Yes
Are you running P3D on a laptop?
No, on a moderately powerful desktop
Version 2 behaves like version 1.
-
Sorry for confusing the two of you, so with that in mind, thank you Brad. Sometime it's hard to tell who's on first and what's on second
-
I have under sim objects: BWEP Flight Plans, FSXP3D WH_BWEP.objects.SW and RTMM BWEP SAK v2 ( I do have ORBX SAK installed) and they appear to be installed in FSX.

Hi Tom,
Do you really have these files in the simobjects folder? The flightplans should go in your sim's documents folder (in your computer's "my documents" area), and the library files should be in your Addon Scenery/RTMM folder along with all the scenery locations. Those libraries and sceneries then get added to your sim's scenery library. After that, they will show in your sim.
-
Hi Jeff,
Talk about getting old and forgetful, I didn't even remember there was a My Documents file.
I have moved the file and will check things out in the morning.
Thanks for the help.

Tom,
your saying that you placed BWEP Flight Plans, FSXP3D WH_BWEP.objects.SW and RTMM BWEP SAK v2 folders in your sim objects folder of FSX? If this is so your install has absolutely no chance of working.
Have you read
http://www.return.mistymoorings.com/object_libraries_build/
scroll down to Section 1. Scenery Folder Placement
This explains the correct set up you need to run RTMM scenery
Are you just placing the .zip files into the Sim Objects folder?
You have to extract each .zip file to a temporary location and work with the files/folders that result.
Following any instructions that apply.

Hi Spud,
See Jeff's note two notes before yours and my note right after his. I realized what I had done wrong and fixed it yesterday. I am about to load the program and see if everything is working now.
Thanks for your help and I will see if I have done it right shortly.

Hi Spud,
Short answer is no. I found #5 and #11 missing in the scenery object tester and now have them both there. The oil storage area appears correct but there is no pipeline visible. I flew to several points of the BWEP Pipeline Sections but found nothing visible except snow and some scattered trees.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Tom
-
Hi Tom,
Can you verify that you have object 12 visible using the scenery tester?
Rod
-
Rod,
Yes, all objects are visible in the scenery tester.
Tom
-
Dumb question, but do you own ORBX SAK?
-
Hi Steve,
Yes I have NA Blue Southern Alaska.....and a whole lot more ORBX...grin.
Tom
-
Well I finally soled my problem. I had Tongass Fjords set to low in the scenery library. I moved it up above the FSX scenery and all seems to be well.
Tom
-
Tom,
placement order of files in the FSX Scenery Library is crucial for correct scenery display. To have the correct order start FTX Central and in the lower left corner click on "ORBX GUIDE". On page 45 is a listing of the correct order of files in the Scenery Library. Follow this 'chart' and you shouldn't have problems with scenery displaying correctly.
Do not ignore the greyed out text between entries like "named default scenery"; that would be those default entries starting with Edwards AFB and ending with Africa. Same for the other greyed out text, be sure you have those in the correct order.

Hi Spud,
As far as I can tell it appears to be running fine. I followed the pipeline for quite a while. What is the latest pipeline section that is now visible? I have been looking for that info but can't seem to find it.
Thanks,
Tom

There's only one section completed at the moment; the SAK section.

Thanks

Absolutely beautiful & thanks again Klaus! My 212 will love to have a fresh repaint before its next dispatch or medevac flight... 8)

8) What BWEP Airports.zip ? (BWEP dispatch) I can't find that.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
P004S Instructions
Local Map BWEP So Alaska: Supply Run - Deliver Electrical component to tundra strip at Pump Station #11 (06.22.2016) ... NOTAM, a redownload the the BWEP Airports.zip is necessary for this, an airstrip was added at PS11.
-
Hi ... good catch. Originally, we were going to put out the airports "separately" and as we were building them, we were adding them to a zip. This would then fix up the airports along the way. Since that time, we decided to put the "fixed up" and "added" airports to the download for each pipeline section. So the airports for BWEP SAK, are already in the download. We will be doing the same for BWEP Richardson Highway when it is released. I've change that instruction on that dispatch so it doesn't call for the addition airport zip download (which doesn't exist anymore).
Thank you
Doug

OK, thanks Doug.

Have been flying P001M, oil leak, dispatch and have not been able to see the oil leak. I have used the scenery checker and have verified that I can see the BWEP objects. I have flown the route both ways multiple times, flying at less than 100 feet AGL down the middle of the pipeline service road, with an airspeed of around 35 knots.
I have used the Dispatch Selector to activate the P001M dispatch (it is listed in the green Active Dispatches section). My flight sim is P3Dv3.4.
Any suggestions????

Danny

BWEP`s fleet is growing again.....
We have a new Helo....the payware Milviz MD530F in the the BWEP Hangar.
This small, fast and agile bird is very good for lowlevel inspction lights along the Pipeline.
Here it is in base configuration...
-
For patrol flights inthe Valdez Harbor Area it`s fitted with emergency floats.....
-
Alaskan winterseason is Long and the days and nights are dark.....
No Matter, the Littlebird is equipped with a strong nightsun light......
-
...and as internal cargo capacity is limited...you can attach an external cargo pod.
But you have also a cargo hook for slingloading attached.
-
The Milviz MD530F is "up" on the BWEP page. At the bottom of the repaints in slot #27. Thank you Klaus!
Doug

Way too cool! Thanks Klaus and Doug :o 8)

New BWEP chart now posted.. (thanks for on-the-way file listings). Is it possible to add file issue date as was indicated on the previous table? On the previous table format issue date was reflected so all would know at a glance if an updated file was required or we already had the current file. On the new table files without file date of issue, there is no way to know if a file has been updated or if we already have the current file.
Just a thought. Thanks in advance for your consideration.
Norm

Norm, take a look now, I added the date column to the right. That's a good idea.

Thanks Sue. It will be a great section, lots to see and do.

Excellent Doug - the dates clarify it all. Thank-you.

I am at a loss. After finally getting a complete, and correct, instl of my scenery library I have been working on installing all of the objects required in the RTMM scenery object tester.
I have managed to install all objects except for the Alaska Power project (#11) and the Blue Wave Energy Partners (#12) I have been working on those nearly all day. I thought I have been
following the instruction exactly but nothing is showing up in the tester.
Any thoughts would be appreciated. Before I had this major repair to my scenery library everything was working fine.

Hi Tom,
Installation is simple and straightforward by simply placing the "RTMM APP Library TEMP" in your Addon Scenery folder and activate it as you normally would with any library.
What are your scenery complexity settings at? Can you post a screenshot of your scenery library entries for APP and BWEP libraries? Thanks. 8)

I will have to get back with you later. I have a terrible time getting screen shots.

I don't know if the attachments are attached or not. Just another thing I don't know how to do.
But level of detail is large, Mesh complexity is 75, mesh resolution is 5 m, and texture resolution is 15 cm.
Alaska Power Project and BWEP are #6 & 7 in the settings-scenery library.
Thanks for your help.

Tom,
the objects come from the Libraries for those two project.
BWEP library = FSXP3D WH_BWEP Objects_SW
http://return.mistymoorings.com/bwep/index.php
Alaska Power Project library = RTMM APP Library TEMP
http://return.mistymoorings.com/alaska_power_project/index.php
If I remember correctly the orange smoke flare is in the Medical Library (Scroll down for Library)

Hi Spud,
Thanks for the help but I am getting nowhere. I didn't have the two main files, FSXP3D and RTMM, so I installed them and activated but still nothing showing up in the scenery Object Tester
Tom

Tom,
what version of the RTMM Object Tester do you have? Should be v3.3 dated 9/25/2016. Download from same page as the libraries (scroll down) it should reside in the Addon Scenery folder of FSX.

Hi Spud,
I see why you are a Hero Member. My Object Tester must have been outdated as you suggested. I updated and all is working.
Thanks a whole bunch.

Tom,
glad the problem is fixed. Flight simming seems to getting more convoluted by the day with so much addon material. Not only RTMM or ORBX is beginning to be a bit of a PITA for everybody.
See ya at Misty's some Sat. night and you can buy the beer!

It seem everything in this world is getting more convoluted.
My pleasure...grin

Took a BWEP side trip today: PAGK (Gulkana) to Z55 (Lake Louise): And a nice sunset again!.
Gulkana: a fantastic airport. Here are a few snaps at Z55 of Lake Louise. Thank-you for the nice work on the scenery pieces.. (Sure do like those runway strobes at Z55!)

Found the fire south of Copper. Man, you guys make this tuff. Was great fun. Thanks for scenery.

Question. I already installed the RTMM BWEP SK v1 but with the sale at ORBX I grabbed their PAVD. Do I just de-activate the RTMM BWEP SK v1 in my scenery library, and DL and activate the RTMM payware version? Or is there something else I need to do, file-wise.
Thanks in advance,
jsapair
-
Here is a cut n' paste from the BWEP page.
* NOTAM:
A-BWEP Southern Alaska Default is for BWEP for SAK with the ORIGINAL PAVD airport.
B-BWEP Southern Alaska with PAVD is BWEP for SAK using the PAVD PayWare from ORBX.
If you do not plan on using the PAVD Payware airport, then select the default edition (#1). Users of BWEP Southern Alaska who are using the PAVD Payware airport MUST use payware edition only(#2). You can only have ONE edition of this scenery project activated in your Scenery Library at any time.
if you own the ORBX Payware PAVD then get 'B'.
8)
-
8)
When installing B, remove A.
LOL
Sue
-
Yeah the PAVD version is the one you want by itself. This is necessary because buildings at the custom airport are placed differently and the elevations of the terrain changed making the pipeline break.
Just delete and install the PAVD one.
Brad
-
When in the case of doubt the simplest solution is to uncheck (deactivate) the installed version then install the other version. That way you can look at the results and switch back and forth by checking one version and unchecking the other to see the differences in scenery. Picking the one that is correct for your installation.
PAVD by ORBX was one of the rare instances where ORBX released a payware airport (and the associated terrain) at the same location as RTMM developed scenery making it necessary for the team to issue a second version of the Pipeline due to those changes. No ORBX PAVD use the - A BWEP or SAK Only
with ORBX PAVD use - B BWEP for SAK & PAVD
Only two choices on the BWEP page, shouldn't be too hard to choose.

New Object Library issued as of 01.03.2017. Be sure to get the new library cause you never know what's around the corner or what's coming down the pipe!

Just installed the latest BWEP library.
In the RTMM Scenery Objet Tester the Vertical Tank is missing, which seems to be a BWEP object.
I don't know whether this tank was present before the latest update.
All other objects are present.
Actually I have 6 bgl files in my scenery folder, which is active in the scenery library.
I did only upgrade (overwrite) the older bgl files by the new ones.
What could be the cause for this missing vertical tank and what are the consequnces?
Thanks for your advices.
Ernst
-
Hi Ernst,
You should delete and replace the old library folder with the new. If BGL files are named slightly different, they won't be overwritten. You would have two copies, theoretically. So replace the entire folder, as a rule. ;)
-
The only that change in the last library update from the previous one is that I created some night textures for a handful of objects (some of which will be incorporated in the Richardson Highway segment. :)) The tanks have been in there since the very first library release and haven't been touched in ages.
As Jeff says, ALWAYS completely delete old libraries or scenery files when updating to newer versions. NEVER simply overwrite.

This is probably a stupid question, but do we delete the files from the sim and also the original one you may have saved prior to installing? Exactly which files are we talking about? Or is this Richardson Highway a totally new entry
Tom
-
RICHARDSON HIGHWAY IS RELEASED!!!!
Enjoy!
Brad
-
Tom,
Completely delete any previous versions of the BWEP object library and get rid of them lock, stock, and barrel. Download the newest version and install it. This will avoid confusion and always assure that you will have the latest and greatest.
Richardson Highway is a brand new scenery addition that uses the BWEP library objects.
Steve
-
I did now replaced the entire BWEP library (FSXP3D WH_BWEP Objects_SW) by the latest one.
Still no Vertical Tank visible with the Scenery Objects Tester.
Am I the only one?
Thanks for any further help.
Ernst
-
The only thing I can think of is that maybe you have an older version of the scenery tester. Make sure you have the latest one on the scenery page dated 09.25.2016. Post back if you still are having issues (or figure it out.)
I just checked mine and the tank object is there.
Steve

Hi Steve,
That was it!!!
Vertical Tank is showing now.
Thank you very much!

After banging your head into a wall repeatedly it usually turns out to being a fairly easy solution, so join the club! Glad we got 'er done.

Asking is the key. I always cringe when somebody's first thought is to re-install FSX! Don't believe I've ever seen a problem here that wasn't resolved.

Very true! To both, Steve and jsapair!
Great addons and great community here, competent, extremely friendly and helpful.
A bit hard to find the real fitting words for me in foreign language, but I think you'll understand.
Steve: Great signature picture of a super great catch!
Thanks again and best regards

With the release of BWEP partII: Richardson Highway we have a new helicopter in our fleet!
It`s the Cerasim Bell222B....This bird acts as our new executive Transport helicopter`s for BWEP`s big guys! 8)
This is it how the paintscheme looks like:
-
with the rotors spinning and ready for take-off:
-
the cockpit and the executive`s cabin:

Nice new chopper for the BWEP fleet !
Thanks
Sue

I have flown the Cerasim Bell222B in P3D, and it works fine. I say this because if you buy the heli, it will say "compatible with FSX SP2 with Acceleration only". It does work in P3D though, so go get one. ($25.45 USD)

Yes, thank you Jeff. The Cerasim Bell222 works in P3d.
So do also the other Cerasim helicopters Bell212 and Bell412EP in the BWEP fleet.

Sue,
thank you. I`m glad you like it.
I always loved the shape of the Bell222. So it was a great pleasure to paint it in the BWEP Colors and put it into the fleet.
-
I recall not to long after the B-222 was on the market I was getting ready to fly at Pensacola Regional and one came in to the field and asked ground control for permission to air taxi to the helipad area. Ground Controller replied, "Cleared as requested Pretty Little Helicopter!". The are very easy on the eyes.
-
Another beautiful repaint by Klaus! Thanks!
Rod
-
Another well rendered skin for B222 Klaus! ;)
By the way Spud, I wonder if that GC would still make that "pretty little..." radio call remark if he instead hears both Stringfellow Hawke saying "Switching to guns and hellfire!" and Dom Santini replies, "She's armed and ready!" and "the Lady" Airwolf is closing in at Mach 1...He'll probably snap out his wits ;D ;D ;D
-
Thank yo all. I'm glad you like this bird.
Yeah, a 222 was the Airwolf and I believe it will ever be remembered as Airwolf.
I loved the tv-series.... :)
-
Speaking of TV series or movies for that matter. It seems that Hollywood is convinced that a helo can not take off or land without coming to a near hover and making a 180° turn as it decends to a touch down or flys away on T.O. ::)
8)
-
8)
They're just burning off air speed... Kidding aside, Aussiecop (remember him?) taught Club Dodo to do that if we needed to lose some speed to land. As for Hollywood, who knows.
LOL
Sue
-
A bit out-of-topic post just for the heck of it and for those curious: The fastest record helicopter speed unofficially recorded is 255 knots with the experimental Eurocopter X3 to date but it's a hybrid with twin props to boost forward flight speed (video link): https://youtu.be/PQNIXxl76qI. Back in the 80s when more TV series became popularized, the viewing public was mesmerized by what Tinseltown put up on the TV screens..among is a super chopper than can fly with the speed of sound (really???) ::) But those who know something better about traditional rotary wing design and aerodynamics know that isn't possible due to limiting factors like dissymetry of lift and retreating blade stall. At least, 240-Robert and Chopper One were more realistic..and Blue Thunder to some extent.. :D
Now in relation to the thread topic, when the X3 or more better designs become mainstream combining greater speed and hovering capabilities, inspecting something long and undulating like the BWEP pipeline with low-altitude NOE (nap of earth) maneuvers would probably take less than half the time than a traditional helo ;)
-

Sue
I am of course talking about real life helo ops. There are, of course, some circumstances that would require a rotation about the vertical axis while landing but it sure not a manuver a competent helo drive would use on every landing like the movies, TV seem to show. Notice on documentries, particularly military, the pilots maintain a smooth, straight approach to a hover then touchdown. That is the most critical power requirement phase for a helo and unecessary manuvers only increase the chance of an accident.
Although its been a 'few' years that was the way I was trained and instructed students in the U.S.N. Having instructed both fixed and roatary wing it has always bugged me the way Hollywood thinks it has to 'improve' on things so they look 'exicting'.
8)

:)
-
Deleted as without Sue's post mine is superfluous.
After 4 months the thread has undergone multiple directions including info on helo downloads, flying techniques, TV helo series etc. etc. staying on topic (BWEP is Live!) has more or less petered out.
8)
-
... but look at the view count for the thread. ::) Seventy-three and a half thousand views since September. 8) Not in the top 10, but still pretty active. :)
-
The last leg is now completed. You can fly from the North Slope of Alaska and follow the pipeline all the way to it's terminus at Valdez.
Enjoy
-
It's A L I V E ! Mwah, hah hah. And now the thread has over 215 thousand views and
two three more years have gone by since Spud was givin' it hell for us going off topic here. RIP Spud. ::)
Congrats, Brad, on completing this great project. It's a thing of beauty. 8)
-
Can we also go from Valdez to Deadhorse? Or do we go from the North Slope Deadhorse to Valdez? lol
-
Either direction. Pilots discretion of course. I’ve been traveling in a north direction for a long time so I’m heading back to Valdez from Deadhorse!!
