Title: Bowser Lake river run
Post by: jeff3163 on March 06, 2011, 08:43:32 PM
I like it.  I am almost to the bottom, only about twenty more miles to go.  I like the bridges along the way.  Cool bridges.  I made a flightplan that follows the river for each direction.  It was good to have a line to follow, for keeping me from making wrong turns.  That's a much better river than the one I was trying first, out of Stewart.

There are only TWO on that route that are bad news, and I sent them to Holger (didn't hear back yet).  Both are concrete and go at water level across the river. They are ahead of you about 70 miles. In "real life" that wouldn't be there, a flood would take it out and it keeps the river from being navigable ... so those are program errors I think. But you are right, the rest of the bridges are really something.  That's something else you never see from the air .. with all the structure that goes into them, etc.

You'll run into some beautiful scenery about 30 miles ahead of where your pics were taken and there are some very narrow places, but you'll get through easily (just slowly).  Great Pics!

I finally got something onto Youtube.  Knowledge is power.  I had to watch a youtube video about how to do it. LOL.  Anyways, it's just 2 minutes of my river run, ( I call it that, because I still don't know the name of the river) to show the Malibu navigating on the water.  I, too, am confused by there being no people in the FSX world.  FTX is working on that though.  My URL is - www.youtube.com/user/jeff3163 (http://www.youtube.com/user/jeff3163)     No frills.  I'm no Cecil B. DeMills.  I'll get better at videos as I do more.

--Update--
I added some "frills".  (music, title, etc.)

Jeff ... great Vid ... I put it up on the gallery (under videos).  That one really "shows" what it is like to run the rivers.  Great addition, thank you.   We'll have to talk about how you did it. I can only get 30 second segments ... we'll talk on it off line.

I just posted a new video.  It's the conclusion of my Nass river run.  It seems more docking practice is in my future.
