Title: Land of cowboys - landscapes for PFJ

Too many fishes have lead me back to the country of cowboys.
I have started something like that I have done with Skeena river life sceneries.
An area with numerous real locations, and many enhancements.
Real airstrips in HD, 2 fictitious farm airstrips in HD, improved landclasses, and many new objects.

I am looking for beta-testers, so the 1st ones who give me names of some locations, areas, rivers, airstrips, coordinates, etc... will be welcome at a fishing lodge.

We are still in PFJ.
AND, RTMM team members are not allowed to participate ! No discussion !

Unfortunately, I'll do a lot of works at home in september, a lot ( my daughter is very angry) and i'll not able to draw and paint during september, on my computer.
Fortunately, Jacques will help me for those new sceneries.

Some tips, we are on the eastern side of the coast mountains, on the land of Tsilhqot'in and Nechako people. Also land of wild horses.

You are close to some locations.
Yes, Tsil refers to Chilcotin plateau, Chilanko, Chilko, close to some OzX NA locations.

You can go north, on land of Nechako tribe.

Another tip : name in gaëlic is Sliabh Thuaidh. One of my favourites countries

Maybe somewhere in the north area at the Nechako Reservoir.

Je reviens de Google Earth après y avoir passé quelques heures et après avoir avoir fait quelques recherches sur Google et je pensais justement à un endroit du côté de Tweedsmuir Provincial Park ou Nachako Reservoir ;)
Mais aucun lieu par là bas ne m'a vraiment convaincue, je n'ai pas pu retrouver ce que j'ai vu sur les screens.
Je vais continuer à chercher 8)

PS : J'avais déjà cherché hier en vain, je vais connaitre toute la zone par coeur à force ;D

Yes, we are into the Tweedsmuir park.
Northern borders of the sceneries are :

Sweeney mine - Andrew bay - Marila.

Take a look - jetez un coup d'oeil around Ootsa lake
from Andrew bay to Marila.

Tweedsmuir BC refers to the town of Tweedsmuir, Scotland, Scotish borders are a very nice area.

Post by: Dieter on August 12, 2012, 08:18:43 AM: There are some nice cleared forestland areas west of Ootsa Lake Sawmill along Ootsa Nadina Rd. that could be used to build ranch/farm/airstrip, but from your provided screenshots it's not possible to determine exact coodinates.

The "hinterland" of the coastal mountain range is vast, unexplored country indeed. It has some real nice spots, lots of empty spaces and the absence of "civilisation" makes that land ideal for remote fishing camps and retreats.
An airfield that is only recogniseable at second glance, a farm, some cabins, a bench and table under a tree. What else do we need for comfort? Drinks? Well, Orbx will not provide "beer flow" in the forseeable future, therefore my own fridge wil do the job ... ;)

Looking forward to this fishing camp.

First I would like to apologize to my team friends, I'm not testing, nor flying above all new sceneries from Doug, Brad, Dexter.

I'm very busy awhile, and "Land of cowboys" suffers from this lack of time ( I need a 36 hours day).

But, I'll be back on first days of october.
I hope posting some new screenshots soon.
Streatham is, now, a wonderful place to fly over, thanks to the help from Jacques.

We will release these "Misty Moorings" landscapes for OrbX PFJ in 2 packs.
The first one is dedicated to the Tweedsmuir area, second to the Chilcotin plateau.
An enhanced version of Anahim lake airport will be added.

:(, i'm sorry but not any screenshots today !

So, let's talk about planes.
We suggest you airplanes having STOL capabilities. Some main locations, such as CAS2 Moose lake lodge, CBT3 Pan Phillips, Streatham ( which will have a fictitious ICAO, it is an existing airstrip but in unknown condition according to topo. map) have a 1000 meters strip. But some others airstrips are shorts (600-700m).

We suggest you, Piper Cub and SuperCub, Bellanca Scout, Cessna C185F, Cessna Birdog.
And, why not, PZL Wilga and Antony Ant's drifter (some locations are close to each other)

"Slow and low"

How many airstrips ? are you thinking.
Some.
In fact, more than 8, with differents feelings.

And about the seaplanes ?
Yes, they are welcome !

Great news! Part 1 of the RTMM Landscapes for PFJ is in Beta testing! How do I know, well I am one of the Beta testers. Xavier has given me the okay to give all of you a quick update. This scenery addon is going to be a real gem. It looks just great!

Part 1 is focused on improving the great ORBX PFJ scenery in the Tweedsmuir-Neehako area of British Columbia. One of the areas not detailed by the ORBX PFJ scenery addon is the Streatham - Oostsa Lake area. Xavier has already posted an overview shot comparison of this area but I thought I would post (below) an animated pic (from a lower angle) showing the extreme difference the RTMM Lanscapes for PFJ will make to your flying experience around Streatham. Don't forget to click on the picture to see the animated "before" and "after" shots.

Now back to Beta testing.......

I have taken from the hangar my test plane, an amphib. Porter (Pretty sure than there is not any Porter used in this area, but best airplane for test flights)

Post by: av8erjm on November 03, 2012, 12:12:09 PM: I did find a repaint for the porter that someone named Bill Dick did over at the old fs9 site and glombed onto it. Converted it to amphibs, skis and the wheel version. Kinda beat up and has that used look, like it would in real life. Anyway here's the thumbnails to show what it looks like. I do agree with you that the porter is ideal for the Misty area with it's STOL abilities and the amount that it can carry

I'm not sure that changing from fishing lodges to barns was a so good idea.
