100 TODAY

The first  seaplane flight took place today here in the UK at lake Windemere 100 years ago :)
The pilot was Herbert Adams.

Did you know that, over here in my neck of the woods, we also have a historic air-boat aviation first: Tony Jannus was the first airline pilot. Jannus flew the inaugural flight of the St. Petersburg to Tampa Air-boat Line on January 1, 1914. That flight turned out to be the first scheduled commercial airline flight in the world using a heavier-than-air aircraft.

Still a couple years before that feat is a 100 years old but I thought I'd share that with everybody since I've know about this since I grew up just a few miles from St. Petersburg, FL. and it's one of those things you hear about over the years down in the "Retirement Capital of the World"
