Thanks Jon for the find.  After reading your post, I got the full package.  I have been flying them around a bit, and they are great little planes.  Not as short of a take-off as I'd like (under-powered has been said already), but Realair is a top-notch developer, and these little beauties are as good as the Realair Turbine Dukes I got a few months ago.  (although nothing like the Dukes, which are more like a twin-engine King Air 350)
I would recommend the Realair Scout package to any bush pilot or Sunday flyer.  It's like a Piper Cub's big brother.  If you like the birddog, you'll like this one too.  Did I say one?  There's gotta be probably two or three dozen to choose from (I haven't actually counted them).  Wheels, skis, amphibs, and tundra tires, all in various paint schemes.  Sorry for gushing.  All I wanted to say is . . . how much I like these planes.  That's all.

ps - and they have a nice autopilot in them already, too.

Hi Jeff,

   I have increased the thrust scaler in the Scout gives her a lot more lift. You can play about with this but I like the amount of lift I get.

      Go to the Aircraf cfg file and edit this section under propeller. I use notepad. :)

[propeller]
thrust_scalar=0.97   change this to thrust_scalar=1.2
propeller_type=0
propeller_diameter=6.6
propeller_blades=3
propeller_moi=5.2
beta_max=60
beta_min=17.0
min_gov_rpm=1400
prop_tc=0.005
gear_reduction_ratio=1.0
fixed_pitch_beta=0
low_speed_theory_limit=80
prop_sync_available=0
prop_deice_available=0
prop_feathering_available=0
prop_auto_feathering_available=0
min_rpm_for_feather=0
beta_feather=0
power_absorbed_cf=0
defeathering_accumulators_available=0
prop_reverse_available=0
minimum_on_ground_beta=0
minimum_reverse_beta=0

PS always make a back up first! ;D

Thanks Pippin.  You must not realize who I am.  Let me introduce myself.  Go to the video gallery, and check out my video called "Bat outa Hell".   ;) (also, my Aerosoft Beaver goes 280 knots). :o
