CIRP is coming!
« on: September 25, 2011, 10:46:01 AM »
All ... we still have a lot of work to do, but the CIRP project is heading for completion.  If you are a regular you've noticed there hasn't been much "new" activity in the NOTAMs area ... that's because ALL of our effort has been placed on this new project.  You've seen glimpses of CIRP in the ADDON SCENERY thread. But in this section you will be able to watch for results from out beta testers as we near launch.  We'll post pictures and videos here as we move forward.

We have not selected a launch date yet ... the scenery is very complex and those of us working on it still can find many details that must be fixed before it goes to the general public.  Although waiting for this to come to your computer may be aggravating, it would be more aggravating for you to have to continually delete and reload object library files, bgl's, etc.  We are not delaying the launch by any means, we are making sure that when you get it, it will be error free and something that will give you pure enjoyment with no problems.

So for our team ... here's the place for you to start posting pictures and videos of what you are seeing. For our fans ... enjoy the "coming soon" shots ... you are going to love this one!

Nice! Is that your 212, Klaus? Quiet bird, if a little slow.  It's weird how 100 knots on land feels like you're flying while in the air, it feels like you're crawling!

Yes, it`s the 212 from Cera Simcraft.
Sure, it`s not fast. Though I didn`t reach topspeed. May be it`s not fast but it`s a powerfull One!
And Power is what you need in the CIRP Area, you will see!

I've been taking some pictures along the way.  This is a collection of screenshots that I started taking at the beginning of the project.  Many things change over time, and the finished scenery may not look like in the photos.  Actually, I am more likely to take pictures of errors that need fixing, being a beta tester.  Please keep that in mind when viewing  The pictures are in chronological order, over about a five week period from 8/21 to 9/28 (so far).

Jeff,
might want to remind people that your screen shots of Summit Station are from older BETA releases and it does not look like that any longer so folks, do not start posting that 'hey, mine does not look like the pictures'.   The screen shots will change over time as improvements and corrections are made to the CIRP project.

Thanks Spud.  I've edited the post so the info is near the link, not down here in the conversation.

Thanks, Ian.  The rhinos are on their way to the museum.  You never know what you'll find up here.

Watched the slideshow available through the NOTAM's link.  Very impressive.  What's the piece of music used?

I know everything is still a WIP but one thing I hope you're going to look at is the width of some of the smaller helipads.  As I mentioned to Klaus on another thread, most of them are fine if you're using something like an MD500 but a couple are quite impractical, if not downright dangerous, for anything like a Huey.

This one shot in particular makes me cringe.

This typ of helipads isn`t in the scenery anymore.  ;)
As you said the slideshow contains pictures at different stages of WIP.
There will be helipads of different sizes in C.I.R.P.

Soule Glacier Rest & Recreation Lodge just got a new runway!   Now this location can be accessed by float, tundra, amphib, helicopter and hovercraft ... a FULL SERVICE lodge for whatever floats your boat!
