Halibut Cove- Red Wake AI Ship Danny J
« on: June 14, 2019, 04:51:45 PM »
Hello

The AI ship, Danny J,  has a red wake.
I cannot see "fx_HS_FSX_ship_Marignan" listed in the 'Wake001' folder.

From the aircraft.cfg in the HC AI Boats folder:

[fltsim.1]
title=Danny J
sim=Le Marignan

[EFFECTS]
wake=fx_HS_FSX_ship_Marignan
water=fx_HS_FSX_ship_Marignan
concrete=fx_HS_FSX_ship_Marignan
touchdown=fx_tchdwn_s, 1

What do I need to do to correct it, please?

Regards
Josh

Thanks for the link.

If I read the topic correctly,  I put the 2 wake fx files that were posted in root\effects and replace the aircraft.cfg in AI Marignan with the one posted?
If so, the wake is still red.

Josh

I lied.

I don't know how it happened, but the aircraft.cfg file I was using was not the one you posted, Rob, but the 2 fx files were in the right place

So after swopping that aircrft.cfg file out for yours I now get a VERTICAL red wake.

Josh

Hi Guys

May I make a polite request for someone in the RTMM team to have a look at HC, specifically the wake problem. If you read this thread and the others mentioned in it, then you will see what the problems are and what is being suggested as fixes.

In respect of suggested fixes it only seems to make the problem worse. I'm getting red wakes from vessels that go vertical when applying a suggested fix and the touch n go AI Beaver exhibits a vertical wave when getting ready for take off. All the AI works in terms of doing what is advertised, it seems it's just the wakes.

This phenomenon seems to be a known one and I'm sure it is not the intention of RTMM to have downloads that are in need of a fix 'out of the box' to get them to work properly.

With all due respect to Rob, who has tried to help me, I am concerned that someone can produce an alternative aircraft.cfg file that has a major difference to the RTMM download, i.e., the touchdown section. Where did that come from?

Respectfully
Josh

Hi Rod
I'm using P3D v4.5.12.30293 on an up to date [I assume] Win 10 OS.

Hi Josh,

Okay, thanks! Unfortunately, I don't yet have Halibut Cove installed on P3Dv4.  So am currently unale to help you directly at this point.

Maybe Dex, our AI guru, will be able to help.  I know he is always running on the very latest version of P3D.

I also have some  red wakes (in V4.4). And stripes in it, haha. Doesn't bother me as I will fix that with my next clean installation.

I do not have red or vertical wakes.  I am attaching the effects file that I am using.  After installing the file into the effect folder, change you aircraft.cfg file accordingly.

Dex/Rod
Excellent!
Not a red wake in sight and a much better effect imo.

Thank you.
