CIRP Hovercraft - 3D Redux Lighting settings
« on: June 09, 2019, 09:31:06 AM »
Hello

If anyone has set up the 3D Redux lighting for the CIRP Hovercraft could I request they post the LIGHTS section from the aircraft.cfg file, please.

Thanks very much
Josh

Hmmm, I don't appear to have converted the hovercraft lights to 3D Redux!? ??? I shall whip that up now. :P
 (I will paste a copy here when I get done.)  ;)

To add 3D Lights to add-on aircraft make the following additions to the aircraft's *(...) panel.cfg files:

PANEL.CFG

Add the following line at the bottom of the [VCockpit01]
section changing 'XX' to the next available number.

gaugeXX=shockwave_lights!SW Lights, 1,1,1,1 //shockwave light <--- Use this one.

... or if the landing lights are attached to the UC legs or doors and they go out automatically on the stock lights when the UC is raised then:

gaugeXX=shockwave_lights!SW Lights_gear, 1,1,1,1 //shockwave light

*I've omitted the "aircraft.cfg" portion of the quote, as it is rather general and not needed here.  I did the work for you.   ;)

Jeff

Thank you very much. I'm tempted to give you a second tip of the hat..... but the 2 main headlights aren't working. The switches on the dash are all 'on'. Everything else is working OK.

This is the same problem that I'm getting with the CIRP Stalwart which you are investigating.

I don't know if it's relevant, but my default LIGHTS entry content was different to yours:

"[LIGHTS] //by jdl

//Types: 1=beacon, 2=strobe, 3=navigation, 4=cockpit, 5=landing, 6=Taxi, 7=Recognition, 8=Wing, 9=Logo, 10=Cabin,
//First=Light Type
//Second=fore and aft position use from middle - = back, + = forward
//Third=- = left and + = right
//Forth=-=Down, +=Up

light.0 = 3, 12.20, -11.45, -0.45, fx_navredSM //port mid
light.1 = 3, 17.4, -1.6, 6.0, fx_navredSM // port high
light.2 = 3, 12.7, 11.35, -0.35, fx_navgreSM //starboard mid
light.3 = 3, 17.4, 1.6, 6.0, fx_navgreSM  //starboard high
light.4 = 2, 3.00, -11.50, -0.45, fx_strobe    // Left ... 2, -2.45, -18.10, -0.49, fx_strobe
light.5 = 2, 3.00, 11.50, -0.45, fx_strobe   // Right
light.6 = 1, -0.52,  0.00,  10.00, fx_shockwave_beacon_rotating_red  //top center
light.7 = 1, -19.0,  4.55,  12.90, fx_navwhiSM //back top
light.8 = 5, 25.8, 1.3, -1.4, fx_landing
light.9 = 5, 25.8, -1.3, -1.4, fx_landing
light.10 = 5, 25.8, 1.3,  -1.4,   Fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrow // Shockwave light
light.11 = 5, 25.8, -1.3, -1.4,   Fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrow // Shockwave light"

No biggie because I've replaced it.

I do have one observation for you:

In the 'Electrical' section of aircraft.cfg file there are these 6 lines that appear to refer to the lights:

light_nav=0, 5 , 17.0
light_beacon=0, 5 , 17.0
light_landing=0, 5 , 17.0
light_taxi=0, 5 , 17.0
light_strobe=0, 5 , 17.0
light_panel=0, 5 , 17.0

I was under the assumption that all lights were controlled in the LIGHTS section.
Do you know what they refer to?

Thanks again
Josh

Hi Josh,
     That is Doug's handywork.  You can tell by the initials, jdl.  ;)   It looks like he used a mix of default and 3D Redux lights in his setup.  Sorry that I don't have the same config as you.  I tend to change and tweak mine occasionally.  I should've gotten a fresh copy from the RTMM scenery page, but I didn't.   ??? :'( :-[

     Be sure you have fx_shockwave_landing_light.fx in your shockwave collection.  That's the effect file for the headlights.

     The [electrical] section controls the "electrical bus", or where power to everything comes from, how much power, and minimum to operate.  The settings are "Bus type, max amp, min voltage".

(reference link) Microsoft ESP Document
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/previous-versions/microsoft-esp/cc526949(v=msdn.10)#electrical

Quote
Bus Type
Specifies which bus in the electrical system the component is connected to, according to the following bus type codes:

Bus Type   Bus
     0           Main Bus (most components connected here)
     1           Avionics Bus
     2           Battery Bus
     3           Hot Battery Bus (bypasses Master switch)
     4           Generator/Alternator Bus 1 (function of engine 1)
     5           Generator/Alternator Bus 2 (function of engine 2)
     6           Generator/Alternator Bus 3 (function of engine 3)
     7           Generator/Alternator Bus 4 (function of engine 4)

Max Amp Load
Max Amp Load is the current required to power the component, and of course becomes the additional load on the electrical system.

Min Voltage
Min Voltage is the minimum voltage required from the specified bus for the component to function.

Jeff - thanks for the info.

I replaced my default with your config. The screenshots are the result.

Yes I've got that file.

Josh
