Hi Handie,

The 3 effects in questions are the fx_wake_RusrivFerry_RPJ.fx and the two fx_water_object_*.fx effects.  all the others are the same for both versions.

The FSX version should work in P3D 2.4.  You can try the P3Dv3 version but take a look at the trailers from the rocks below the Princess Lodge and see if they look like the pics or if you have white spots moving all over the place.   Also, take a look at the Russian river ferry wake and see which way looks best.   No one on the test team still uses v2.4 of P3D.

Let us know what you find.

Rod

Thank you Rod,
I'll try with the files for FSX and I'll make the feedback.

Hi,

So I went to see but, either with the effects pack for FSX or the one for P3Dv3, I don't have a wake for the ferry.
I also don't have the "sprays" behind the rocks towards Princess Lodge.

After that, I went to Watterfall, Yes Bay Lodge, Big Fall Hydro, Bear Observatory and The Fountain of Ute, and I no longer have any water falls or sprays there.
Some of my boats don't have a wake either, while others do.

Do you have an explanation or, better yet, a solution?
Thank you.

Hi Handie,

I am baffled by what you are experiencing.  The effects files that come with TWC-2 are unique files and don't overwrite standard effect files.  There is no way that installing TWC-2 will make other effects stop working.  There has to be something else going on.  Did you accidentally turn off effects?

Hi Rod,

I didn't say it was the fault of The Western Chugach 2 scenery, which is really beautiful, thanks to you  :)
I installed this scenery but I also updated all the other RTMM sceneries.
I hope that the fact that I am still with P3Dv2.4 and that these updates were done following the release of P3Dv4 is not the cause of my worries.

Otherwise, regardless of these updates, do you have any idea what could be the cause of the disappearance of my waterfalls and sprays?
I looked in the "Effects" folder and everything seems fine.

What files allow these waterfall and spray effects to work?

Hi Handie,

One of the effect files that produces waterfalls is fx_WaterFall.fx if you want to make sure that file is in your effects folder.  However, you are missing all kinds of effects from different effect files.   I would recommend posting the problem in the Help and Troubleshooting section of the RTMM site as a new posting since it will get more views.   Maybe someone will have experienced this problem before.  In reposting the problem, make sure you mention if you can see smoke effects (like chimneys etc.).   Be specific if it is just effects that involve water falls, sprays, water trailers, boat wakes etc.

I just can't think of why you would lose all effects associated with water and yet have other effects if, indeed, that is true.

I'm impressed by the amount of work that went into this project. Hats off to ya' Rod and team. I wouldn't be at all surprised to find out I can purchase my out-of-state fishing license here, that's how much detail went into this.

Great job on raising the bar once again on the standard of excellence in simming scenery.
