FOREST FIRE!! 23nm NW of PASI
« on: July 25, 2018, 01:19:57 PM »
APB - NOTAM:

While flying Leg 6/Leg 7 MFC0017-TF Docks & Cabin Inspections Petersburg to Juneau: have found large forest fires - 23nm Northwest of Sitka (PASI/A29) near the area of the Suloia Lake USFS Cabin.

Call out the troops, the fire boats and the water bombers - these are no little fires and it's so dry - they will spread very fast!! Heading back to Sitka to drop off this little C185 for a Canadair CL215 (Water Scooper) to help fight the numerous forest fires!!.

Norm

Ok working on the fires now in a CL-215 trying to water bomb the fires. They only have a few CL-215 at PASI but many areas are sending fire crews!!.

(Have no idea how the fires started (in the sim)) but they are sure raging!.

Norm,
The fires are part of Medical Dispatch, E025B, that I created back in the day. Try the recommended float plane approach to the cabin to rescue the injured person. Tricky in and out.

RTMM MedEvac Dispatch #E025B
Equipment: Helicopter or Float Plane
Chainsaw Accident Suloia Lake Cabin
Special RTMM Scenery Requirements:
• Tongass X
Starting Location: False Island Misty's Dock (Water) ICA) 2Z62
• Float Plane: (N57 31.9627 W135 12.8666 Hdg. 281)
• Helicopter: Position at N57 31.9469 W135 12.7269 Hdg. 213 (Brad's Barge)
Location of Emergency: Bearing from False Island is 225° for 18 miles.
Medical Destination:
Float Plane: Tenakee Springs Trauma Center Medical Dock M028B.
Helicopter: Tenekee Springs Trauma Center Helipad M028B.
Nature of Emergency: A cabin guest has injured himself with a chainsaw. Severe
lacerations. Time is of the essence. Pick up patient, one other person and dog.
Emergency Location: Lake Suloia N57 25.2415 W135 43.0775 Topo Map
Emergency Way Point: E025B
• Helicopter: From the helipad start on the “New Brad’s BB&B Barge” ICAO 2Z62,
moored at the town of False Island, fly for 18 miles at 225° to the cabin on Lake Suloia.
There is a small forest fire in the immediate area that must be avoided due to
unpredictable updrafts. Approach destination with extreme caution. Suggested
approach is from southern arm of the lake. A local fishing boat is anchored in
Bradshaw Cove at the southern approach and overheard the emergency call. The crew
has lit a signal flare to help you find your way into the arm. The cabin is located at the
NW end of the lake. Pick up the victim and transport to Tenakee Springs Trauma
Center at way point M028B.
• Float Plane Take off from the water start at False Island Misty’s Dock ICAO 2Z62. Be
sure to load the stretcher that is sitting on the dock. Bearing from False Island to Lake
Suloia is 225° for 18 miles, approximate altitude 3500’. There is a small forest fire in
the immediate area that must be avoided due to unpredictable updrafts. Approach
destination with extreme caution. Do not fly over fire area. This is a very small lake,
and due to fires, approach and take off should ONLY be made from the southern arm
of the lake. A local fishing boat is anchored in Bradshaw Cove at the southern
approach and overheard the emergency call. The crew has lit a signal flare to help you
find your way into the arm. The cabin is located at the NW end of the lake. Pick up the
victim and transport to Tenakee Springs Trauma Center at way point M028B.

Thanks Steve and good memory..  (Of course do have all the Med and BWEP dispatch sceneries activated.. so no wonder there are FIRES etc..!! Ok.. now while here, (didn't get the fires out with the CL-215) will fly the dispatch E025B.. Gotta put that Chainsaw OUT!. I'm mean find the crew with the flare, rescue the injured chainsaw guest and remember not to fly in the fire or get caught in the updraft!

Thanks again Steve.. I'm on it!.

 Very nice, Norm and Steve!
How did you create the fires? Are they included objects in a scenery?

I use FirefighterX for fighting forestfires. That‘s a very nice app which you can create fires whereever you want in the sim. You can load your airplanes or helicopters with watr or retardent and put the fires out....
You can even assign AI planes which help you fighting the fires.
You can also refill the tanks of your planes while landing on a lake or river in the sim.

The Automated Dispatches - (for Medical Facilities and BWEP)
(Item 2 has the Dispatches scenery and the RTMM Dispatch Selector turns any of it on or off.)
(Link http://return.mistymoorings.com/here_to_there/#dispatch)

Installation

There are three items you need to download:
1.       RTMM Medical and APP Libraries - Clicking on the zip button will take you to the table on the Object Library Page where you can find the download for the RTMM Medical and APP Libraries.

2.       Clicking on this ZIP button takes you to the Here2There page's "dispatch table" where you can download the RTMM Dispatches.zip folder at the bottom of the table. The folder contains the automated dispatches for both BWEP and for RTMM Medical Facilities. When you run the RTMM Dispatch Selector, it will give you a choice of selecting BWEP or Medical Facilities. The dispatches are turned on and off with the Dispatch Selector, the readme for it is HERE.

3.       RTMM Medical Facilities.zip - To get the latest RTMM Medical Facilities.zip file, click on the ZIP button just below. We recommend you install this as you do any other scenery. (RTMM suggests " ... /Addon Scenery/Misty Moorings/RTMM Medical Facilities" ). When new facilities are added, you will see a NOTAM and a new file date. This will happen relatively frequently as we continue adding the medical facilities

Now following Steve's Med Dispatch E025B.  Found the ship with the orange flare marking the correct approach  - so now heading in to clean up the pieces after the chainsaw massacre and following will head to TKE with the remains. lol..  Found the mess beside the gents' cot.. "Cleanup on aisle 8 please". Off to Tenakee!..lol..

Klaus,
The fires are simply effects that I placed there. If you have all of the libraries and effects installed, and I'm sure you do, you'll already have them. And no, they can't be extinguished. That FirefighterX sound neat! Where did you find it?
