Did you see that "DOS Box" error that I had posted when you installed. I'm wondering if this thing doesn't work in 4.3.

No, I didn't get any errors.  Still, no movement from the trees.  ???

Hmmm... looked at my stuff on the home desktop..

The dynamic 3d veg is supposed to be off in p3dv4.3 and the p3d default vegetation.bgl file has to be vegetation.bgl.OFF (scenery/global/scenery turned off.)

The active Terra Flora scenery file is vegetation_TF.BGL (also in scenery/global/scenery...)
Not sure on the workings but will refer to TF manual.

It does say on the TF product description that TF is compatible with other 3rd party stuff. Will do some reading on it.

Norm, before you install, you will have "vegetation.bgl" in the Scenery/Global/Scenery. Once you install TF, that changes to "vegetation.bgl.off" and a new one appears "vegetation_TF.bgl".  That is happening for me just fine.  Also the Scenery Library is activated. Somehow, though, it is not affecting the trees. For me, I don't think it is installing.

One major reason I have for really trying to get this to work is TWC II (coming soon). I've got the basics for a "float trip" down the river with 9 places to visit and pull out. Can you imagine a float trip on that beautiful river, with all that Rod has done, and have the water moving and the trees on the bank moving?  That will be something.

Off subject: If anybody sees a boat that has a 5 hp motor or no motor but moves, I'm interested.  We need something to "float" in.

Hi,

Terra Flora trees are not mobile at all, they are static.

Only trees obtained with the box "Dynamic 3D Autogen Vegetation" checked are animated.
But these trees are really very ugly and incompatible with Terra Flora trees.
On your screens posted on the Turbulent Designs forum, your trees are Terra Flora trees.

OK ... I had it all wrong. Those are speed trees with 3D animated "on" that I'm seeing in the MP4 I made (link at the bottom of the scenery page). The others are the Terra Flora.  So there is no mystery. Too bad the Terra Flora trees don't move.  Well, I like the Speed Trees. The movement is great down on the water (float trips, etc).

Yes, I think these are the trees you get when you check "Dynamic 3D Autogen Vegetation", the speed trees.
Only those are animated, except some trees on certain Orbx airfields like Fall City if the option is enabled in the scenery panel.

I find that Speed trees are really "ugly" when seen in flight.
They also require more resources from the PC.
They take over all the other trees, whether Turbulent or Orbx.
But each his own preferences ;)

Agree with you. I'm looking at them from the water level working on a "float boat" trip for TWC II. And when you are down among them, the speed trees are better. So you are correct, it is all "options" :-)

Thanks again, you got me pointed in the direction of sanity. (but only the direction, I've not completed the journey).

:o :P  I was getting a little crazy looking for moving trees ... for hours.  I couldn't find any that looked like the ones in Doug's video.  It's good to know they don't move.  :P  My trees are just fine, although stoic and rigid.  Flying in 36 knot winds was fun.  ;D  8)  Hard to keep the beaver on terra firma, but hovering is a breeze.   ;D
