a warning for REX Sky Force users
« on: April 14, 2018, 01:17:12 PM »
Hello,

as I've started flying the RTMM area I've suffered with sudden early CTDs, almost every time

initially I thought it was my RTMM setup yet, after fixing it, CDTs continued

after uninstalling/reinstalling a multitude of addons, I've found that REX Sky Force was responsible for that, and quitting it, just after having it injecting textures, made crashes disappear

I think it happens because, although at SF maximum gfx settings flights are smooth on my mid-high end system, something into p3d42 reasoning does not accept that (scenery complexity?)

using ASP4, as weather engine, gives no problem

hoping to save (a lot of) time for another pilot  :)

win10 - p3dv43 - HOTAS Warthog - Crosswind pedals, CH Throttle - Saitek trim - TrackIR - Oculus CV1

Hi Tozzifan
Glad you have found the cause of your problem
I use Rex SkyForce for Textures and AS (Active Sky ) for the Weather Engine together as per Avsim P3Dv 4 Forum instructions(Poppet endorsed) in RTMM areas with no problems
These are demanding programmes especially if used with complex planes
