Frances Lake
« on: April 12, 2018, 04:06:15 PM »
Hi All
I am having a problem when I load Watson Lake to Frances Lake PLN into my P3Dv4.2
It crashes the sim!
Is it just me and mine -other PLNs seem to be OK

Yes the FP has a slight defect and it locks up the sim.

Here is a new fp from Watson to Frances Lake Lodge as well as a couple others from Watson to Frances West Fork Cabin and The Frances East Fork Cabins. (zip attached)

Hope these work for you xxd_Nought-niner. If not just holler.

Hi nbrich1
Just a passing thought as I reinstall RTMM on a new machine
P3Dv4.2 is a very sensitive beast -one small step out of place and she closes down!
I was tempted to install a number of familiar RTMM Sceneries at once but have learnt my lesson
AI traffic out of Misty Moorings for example-at least I think it was that as I had also installed Barge and Log Boat etc -caused shut down-removal and all was OK
Moral -one installation at a time and test!

Always the safest way.. Make sure the Tongass AI traffic models fix and the RTMM AI fixes for P3Dv4x are done, and the rest works like a charm.. ( http://return.mistymoorings.com/getting_started/index.php#9)

(It was only the AI traffic models that were not FSX native that were causing the CTD problem in P3Dv4x.)

A tipoff to that problem is if you start your sim (say at Misty's Place), go to slew and rotate directly slowly. At the same place during the rotation, the sim will "go to desktop".  Unfortunately, if you sim is set to start your aircraft in that direction, it will crash on startup. What this means is you have a "bad object" ... and the fix you discovered will fix all of them. This "symptom" is totally repeatable, so if you have it, that's the problem.
